For the Last Time, Poison's not a guy! They said that so American Developers wouldn't feel bad about putting out a game (Final Fight) which had dudes beating up on Women. Ironically, a year later they would put out Street Fighter II.
As for the game, I'm still a little sore that Balrog might not make it into the game, but having Poison in it (a refreshing alternative from Lightning Legs & British Dynamite) is a HUGE Plus. Another reason to get this game.

Seriously, Capcom should rename the game to Capcom vs Tekken, not SF. Poison is not from SF. She made her debut in Final Fight. She needs to be included in a SF game first (like Hugo) then it'll make more sense to be in a crossover game.

Thus why the recent UMvC3 character leaks kinda' saddened me.
Shion was definitely unique and extremely well animated in a game that reused a lot of assets (of course I LOVE KOF XI despite that).

I agree with everyone about stating the true facts about Poison. We came a long way from male characters hitting female characters in video games. Take old school games like Mortal Kombat 1, Streets of Rage 2, Street Fighter II, etc. It's kinda in every genre and every type of game now. Also, we came from a time where Japan's content was heavily censored in the US (Anime, Video Games, Movies, etc). In conclusion, the thing about Poison being a tranny was a regional difference, but essentially she is a woman! Besides, we always love the original "authentic" product of anything from Japan.
Digital characters are whatever they are portrayed on the outside to be. What someone says even if they're are the game's creator can be denied by whats being portrayed.
Therefore if Poison is portrayed as a female then that's exactly what she is.
She isn't real so all you can go off of is what you see. THEREFORE if you don't see any male parts then poison isn't a male.
Trannys don't exist in the digital world to real people unless they actually show the male parts.

I have to disagree about the creator part though. The creator is the creator. if the creator wishes for appearances to be decieving, that's what it will be. And as far as the "well she don't look 15" excuse and the Kayo Police thing (yes I know Kayo's a dude), now we're talking about real people with real body parts. My above statement is talking about fictional characters so Kayo Police and the "15 year old girl" are irrelevant here.
What Poison is portrayed as on screen holds more weight than what the developers say because in a sense what's being shown on screen (a woman) IS what they are saying; and when it comes to digital characters what you see is what you get; you can't exactly take her pants off.

The truth is she was ORIGINALLY a female from the beginning and then afterward all the controversy came about. So then people who have knowledge about her beginning and all her changes afterward have a choice of what to believe. Either the original character (female) or the changed character (tranny). Neither choice is wrong since she was both at different points in time. But its easier to believe she's a female since she looks female. Plus since the character is fake it doesn't matter which one they choose anyway.

@#222 the reason why people go out of their way is because they don't want to entertain any possibility that they could have been attracted to a tranny even though said tranny is a video game character. personally i found out poison was a trap before i knew about her but if i found out afterwards like these guys frankly it wouldn't be that big a deal to me. after all he is a video game character so capcom can do an unrealistically good job portray him as female. if you actually met a real trap and got fooled then you would have no excuse because believe it or not your body can tell.
@221.. Yeah the story says Ken perfected the Dragon Punch but not everyone knows the story and a LOT less people know the true story about Poison's origin. Which is why they have to go by whats being seen on screen. From the visual side people can assume that Ken perfected the dragon punch because they see fire on his and not on Ryu's.
There is no visual evidence to support that Poison is or ever was a tranny so people that don't know the real story will AUTOMATICALLY assume that its a female. That is maybe until they hear this story that's to this day still covered with questions and controversy that nobody can agree on.
Visual media is more attractive & powerful than words from anyone EVEN the creator which is why Capcom is giving us trailers not showing us a typed document about the game from Ono. Somebody wants to know the story or history then ask somebody or look it up online. But I promise you that same person has already saw the trailer and Poison shown as a female.
Look at Leo from Tekken 6 and yes you can look closely at Ash too and know something's not certain about their gender. But Poison is SHOWN as 100% female.

@ 227 - Leo is a bit different though, in that Namco is (or at least was) being purposely silent about her gender, only giving a few vague hints here and there. That one COULD go either way, and the creator actually has left that to the imagination of the players so far.
Although it's kinda' slipped at times that Leo is *probably* a girl.
Similar to the Poison argument though, nothing about Bridget even remotely says "boy" but GG has made it known from day one that Bridget is, in fact, a boy.
I can see where the ambiguity comes from with Poison, as even her history is pretty muddled (Capcom is really good at this!). I guess in the end we're looking at two different things: what people want to believe from a glance, and what people want to believe from the actual story.
@ 226 - LOL,true, that's a big part of it. Capcom went out of their way to make her look extremely feminine, and provocative.
Personally, I think they've held on to that story for her to purposely mind---- their young male audience. :p Personally I found out way later, and it did kinda' scar me, lol.

If anyone can notice that on the trailer at the top you can see somewhat of a face and eyes that looks like sakura, that is not in the liquid image. you can clearly see that it is Sakura.Just take a look for yourself, without pressing play.
ok lets get one thing straight.Poison is NOT a guy. Theres just no way that she can "hide" it in those jeans of hers. Ono was probably bulls**tting or was high off is ass when he said she was a tranny. I don't believe wat he said was true. so im glad the SHE'S in the game.
