Level|Up announced today that Brokentier|Latif and Mr. SNK have forfeited their West Coast Super Battle Opera 2011 spot for SSF4 AE.
Team 'No SBO For You' confirms that they will forfeit their spot for the runner up team due to passport/visa complications.
Team Complexity.Cross Counter will now represent the US in the SBO 2011 SSF4:AE tournament in September.
Runner-up: Complexity.Cross Counter - Mike 'Vermillion' Ross and Ryan 'Filipino Champ' Ramirez.

i wish latif and mike ross was a team. MR SNK is too free and no one really likes fchamp. lol

yeah, i agree with you completely. Latif is a great viper and Mike is a great Honda. I don't think champ's sim is going to do well over in SBO.. especially against really aggressive Yuns.

@8 You are overlooking the fact that it is still the luck of the draw of your opponent. Lets say the go against a Sagat and Viper team and Mike Ross goes first and the other team chooses the Sagat player to go first then they would have 2 bad match ups instead of having two good match ups. It goes both ways and not knowing who your opponent sends up first means that the synergy between Honda and Sim really means nothing or means even less.
Too bad Latif couldn't team up with Mike Ross. But at least Ross is going, considering he might be our best hope. Even the Japanese consider him the best Honda in the world at this point after Shadowloo Showdown. As for the passport thing, I don't think it could've been Latif who had the issue, considering he's been to SBO before. Maybe this is a way for Mr. SNK to step down while saving face?
Mike ross and Filipino champ are two of the smartest SSF4 players in America.
Flip champ will probably find a way to zone out the twins as he learned how to zone out rufus.
Sad thing is that Mr. SNK is a damn good Honda player and was the go-to Honda guy until Mike Ross came along....though you wouldn't have known it from the way he played at that qualifier. DEM LATIF FLOATIES is load-bearing floaties, indeed.

I'm happy that Mike Ross gets to go at SBO, but also saddened that Latiff can't. Oh well, good luck and USA! USA! USA!
You can say all you want about how Honda/Dhalsim make a good team, etc, but they still don't stand a chance in SBO. The tournaments in Japan are on another level, not to mention their stricter elimination rules. They will be knocked out, and knocked out early.
It will be an embarrassment to say that these guys are representing the best of the US :/
Latif was on top of his game during the qualifiers, and SNK seem to be getting the short end of the stick on several matches. Honestly, M.Ross and Fchamp will serve better as a team in japan representing USA, SoCal.I'm sure those two will be working on their yun/yang game from now to then. By the way, M. Ross and Fchamp put MVC3 on hold and work on your SSF4 skills until then (lol). Good luck guys.
This is straight up BS...their is no issue with Visa or Passport that you cant fix in time for SBO... If you really think Champ will figure out how to ou-tzone the Twins, rewatch his exhibition match with Daigo when Daigo played as Yun. Daigo is obviously the best Yun in the world, but there are plenty of Yun and Yang players in Japan that make every Yun and Yang in the United States look like complete garbage. If this was actually a graceful stepping down of Latif's team, that should be applauded. Best of luck to Ross and Champ, and here's to them pulling off some upsets before getting bodied.
I hope champ has worked out a good method against twin players. While I think sim is a good character, his good and bad matches are just so extreme. If it's a bad match up, then it's BADDD.
I'm happy to see them going, though I do feel Latif also has an amazing Viper. Can't say much for Mr. SNK lol. I mean, I think it's great for Mike though, because he is more or less the face of the community at the moment just due to his overwhelming popularity, and of course skill.
Got to like the way you had a hoard of haters a few days back complaining at the "Daigo goes to Kuwait" video going "OMG THIS ISN'T NEWS". But no one's mentioned anything about the news that Ross/Champ are going to Japan, which is pretty much the same news if you just change the names of countries and players involved.

Implying you wouldn't care just as much if this were a random tournament and not SBO, and not just you being elitist with "if it isn't about USA or Japan, it doesn't matter". Keep it classy.

It could be BS, but if Latif or Mr. SNK have any drug-related offenses in their past, there's no way they were getting into Japan. Not saying that was what it was.
Who cares who's going? These guys are gonna get bodied either way.
It's like #21 said, Japanese tournaments aren't as forgiving as tournaments anywhere else. There's no Losers bracket to try and grind through if they screw up on that first attempt. Once these guys go against a team of say Sagat and Makoto or Yun and Fei Long, they will get beat instantly and will be eliminated

Interesting news...I think Honda and Viper is a better team because there are just too many rush down chars that made it..SIM will be free as hell...I'll take Viper over Sim in AE anytime any day.
For sure Latif and Mike Ross would've been the dream team here but seriously even as good as Mike Ross's honda is...I can't see them getting pass 2nd round.

Oh. Wait a minute. Mr. SNK or Lafit or both should be able to get new passport before going to SBO, shouldn't they? Or was it illegal that they didn't have passports before playing in WC Qualifier? If yes, i would consider that rule lame or not fair. =/
