the things on the wall are street fighter sound drops http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_...
last year, i remember Daigo said the guy who invite him is very rich and his house is very huge.
An adult that has 40+ tamagotchi's? Seriously?!
I dont doubt his SF skills for a second, but the guy is sooo boring. His face ALWAYS has the same boring expression.
People can't have, do or even be what they like because there's always some one b!tching and hating.
Dear mr. Daigo,
Regarding your visit to Kuwait
Dubai has more money!
I would love for him to come over but I don't catching an airplane for him man he is popular here in the middle east and he is a gr8 player
In the name of STREET FIGHTER COMMUNITY OF THE MIDDLE EAST (marhaba) in the middle east
Keep on "hadyoukening" fellow fighterZ
Don't mind catching an airplane*
forgot to add the word
@13 im not bitching, and they look like tmagotchi's.. I just saying what i was thinking.
I respect the man's mad SF skills. I just think hes completely lacking personality...
People complaining about someone who THE DON'T EVEN KNOW is lacking personality... You've only seen him on Youtube. How could you even know? Judging people by a video, c'mon.
sound drops http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C0L7Z4...
@21
Never heard of charisma?
Some people ooze it out, some people come across as robots.
(the whole introverted/extraverted thing)
There's a reason why Mike Ross is SO popular,he's a great player + he has a likeable personality.
Daigo is just too Japanese and I'm sure Japanese people think that Westerners are too loud/over the top/arrogant.
In fact, didn't Daigo mention in an interview that the people in the US tend to get really hyped during matches, while the Japanese audience tend to be more quiet?
@ 21 im not complaining you f'ing moron! Sorry did i insult you hero?
I was just stating an opinion. An opinion thats based on MANY videos of him, not just this one. in interviews and tourny footage, he appears to lack any personality IMO. So please use your brain before you next decide to post
jeeze. you people obviously don't understand japanese culture like I do. Daigo is obviously calm all the time because he is disciplined and practices the concepts of honor and loyalty (and if you did not know, in japan those are VERY IMPORTANT!) He seems a little hesitant in this video obviously because he looks down upon the people to the west. He wins EVO all the time because he's not pompous and arrogant like the majority of the USA. I just hope that one day, some people will take to disciplining themselves like I do. I just wish Japanese influence would stretch a little further today. It's just depressing sometimes.
lol
daigo is like a god.
without him it's no tournament.
lol@ people think Mike Ross is more popular than Daigo.
Daigo gets more haters too.
I am in Pakistan. I wish i could go to Kuwait. Lucky Arabs.
@27
I agree with part of what you're saying, but you come across as a gigantic weeaboo.
@36 - ditto.
@25 - quiet =/= no personality. He's just not a noisy person. There's a couple videos of him online joking with friends talking about, I believe, 3S and KSK.
Daigo collects sounddrops, that's pretty cool, I guess.
Lol to the people that think they are tamagochis.
Lol @ 19 Plenty of good players can beat Daigo, don't make it seem like anyone in kuwait is better than Daigo. He's better than everyone there, by far lol.
"Ok so, why is this on the front page again? The guy is teraveling, woopty doo."
Ok, first of all the fact that you're here commenting means that on some level you give a s@%t, secondly your spelling is atrocious and lastly you do realise he is, if not one of the greatest SF players so he will tend to get attention for seemingly minute things like these from time to time!
On a different note why do people tend to associate personality with the smiley, happy, bubbly , talkative or sociable type! As an adult I've come to realise that these kinds of individuals with the affoermentioned traits usually tend to be more style than substance. IMO the more reclusive individuals a la Daigo are the ones I tend to find engaging as there is usually a lot more to them than meets the eye!
The real question is...
Was this worth the news post?
The official translation of this video is "Come EVO, all you baka gaijin jabroni's are going to die one thousand deaths. Beast out."
"The real question is...
Was this worth the news post? "
Yes, I believe it was. A lot of people are very interested to find out where he will be attending. Especially those in Kuwait or nearby territories.
EventHubs is the place to come for news. Any news in relation to fighters.
I'm more interested to knowing why he didn't go to Australia's Shadowloo Showdown? Every other international star did. Why would Umehara not want to face off against them?
@49 It's clear why he's going to Kuwait the MONEY, not the skill level cause last time he bodied the entire community over there.
@50 you make it sound like he didnt do the same in the US and body everyone there... just because theres no insane live stream with sick commentary doesnt mean the fighting comminuty there is ass ... there are some amazing players in that region infact ... and given the right opportunities they can really beast out in world tournaments.. the same can be said about why not many europeans attend EVO ... transport just aint easy ...
This thread is terrible. "OMG WHY IS THIS NEWS IF IT ISN'T ABOUT MURRIKAHH". No doubt if this was him talking about Evo you'd be creaming all over it.
Daigo is arguably the most well known and influential fighting game player in the world right now, perhaps even in history. I'd say what he's doing is ever so slightly relevant to a fighting game website.
@ 50 . Go check out Nox, he is Kuwaiti and hes number 1 in Guy's leaderboard and he pumped Kiryu down to 2nd, you clearly have never came to the middle east and played against the top players, Daigo actually claimed that Nox, one of the top 10 in Kuwait was the best Guy he ever faced.
Hey, I'm going to New Jersey next month.
-Could you post my video announcing that too?-
#19: videos or didn't happen
#53: yes, he said best Guy. Still got bodied no?
Yeah. I think he is going there for many factors...
1. Comfort-ability. Probably good accommodation and relaxed down time. Treated well and looked after
2. Prize money. Shadowloo Showdown had A LOT of Top Names attending... but they didn't have massive prizes like other comps.
Every SF community has Fantastic players. And most will be not so good. This is every country. But I think Kuwait is a good balance for Daigo's interest. Comfortable, easier competition, and good prize money?
@55 he lost a couple, but won a majority of his fights. Even when he lost you can tell he could have easily won. Daigo >>> kuwait in its entirety. Yhe real question is, is kazunoko the man surpassed, by none, i "hear" (none of what you hear, n half of the sight of it) he is above daigo. Not just right above, but an actually better Yun by a nice margin, can't wait to see if its true. If so kazunoko wins EVO easily.
I agree with @56
I'm sure Daigo enjoyed his first visit to Kuwait a lot so it's normal that he wants to return.
Another reason why Daigo will go there might be because he sees himself as an ambassador for Street Fighter. If Daigo can help popularize fighting games in more regions of the world, eventually that will mean that there will be more stream viewers or people that attend Evo. More street fighter fans is always good.
Number 44 hits the nail on the head here..when u mature enough you will find this to be the truth. Although, that doesnt mean that i think only quiet , reserved people are the greatest people in the universe and that charismatic , bubbly people lack substance , that's not true at all. There is a larger variety of people in this world than we could ever encounter, but in general i find number 44 to have shed some light on the quieter members of society who you don't know but just make your assumptions like many here have done about daigo. I dont know him , nor do i claim to know him, how could i from watching some videos of him playing competitive fighting game matches? The man is concentrating to win and is representative of a diff culture , ie japan, one which many of you would not have much experience with. Dont judge a book by its cover, its an old one, but it stands the test of time.
@49 yes your right bro we are interested lol we like the tournaments so yes I am actully planning to Kuwait to attend that event
Wow... did they really need to use the most eye burning font color possible?
They could have at least put a border around the letters.
