Announced recently on the LevelUp stream and their twitter, Team LowLandLions and Team Madcatz are teaming up with the addition of LLL.Ryan Hart and LLL.Kayane to the Madcatz sponsorship list.I remember seeing one of BossLogic's trailers with some weird wings and a question mark. I remember posting it may be Kayane being signed, but alas, it was for Daigo :(
Glad MCZ is getting more OP, they'll be fun to watch.
@#5 You're wrong about the eye candy thing. They deserve to signed too, not because they're attractive but because of their track record. Granted Poongko and Infiltration are good but it doesn't mean that EG or MCZ has to sign them, complexity could signed them in the future.
Kayane did beat Luffy one of the best in Europe in a tournament a couple of months back so she has been lvl up I wish there was more coverage of the Euro scene. I would like to see Luffy and Allioune get sponsored same for WorstGief.
I would like to thinks that Madcatz, CC or TTC are in talks with PoongKo to try and get him question is who will be the front runner.
@12 just my preference i guess being a Gief player :P. Heck Marn got signed before and he chokes more than anybody.
They are probably working something out with him at the moment this stuff does take time but Madcatz should be the front runner unless TTC is pulling a surprise and getting him.
Can't say I'm feeling the Kayane sponsorship, especially when Europe has people like Alioune or V-Ryu that should have been given the deal. But whatever I guess every team needs one girl to look diverse.
@26 you must really suck ass at reading brah, most here are questioning the decision.
lol guess I went a bit far myself my bad just so many better players to sign yes but maybe this could be an investment to soul caliber 5 who knows
Some of these comments are so smh-inducing...
Putting who's more worthy of getting signed aside, turning someone else's accomplishments into a "What about Poongko, etc" topic just ain't cool. We all know those other guys are phenomenal and all, but time and place ppl -.-
Kayane is the real deal in Soul Calibur and in SSF4 women's division. Although she can still beat some guys out there she's just average when compared to guys in SSF4 but, in SC she can actually win it all against guys or girls.
Dudes and dudettes, i don't want to sound like an a-hole or something but... if the only reason you want Poongko to come to EVO is because he's the "only hope against Daigo" then you want him for the wrong reasons, i want him to come to EVO, but because i enjoy watching him play and because i want EVO to be as awesome as ever, not because i want him to beat somebody especifically.
And this IS where i'll sound like an a-hole. Poongko can't beat Daigo at EVO, no, just no. Don't entertain the idea, there's a reason Daigo is considered the best SF player of all time and has a Guinness world record for SF, and now he's using Yun. So called me a fan boy or anything, idk, Revelations and NCR9 results speak for themselves...
BTW if the SF community were to rank the top 3 USA players right now, would Mike Ross be 1 or 2 in most lists? or is there anyone else out there?
#11
Yeah well fchamp got 2nd in mvc3 at revelations and during ssf4 was able to beat daigo consistently in tournaments/money matches. Combofiend won mvc3 at final round and i believe he placed in top 8 in mvc3 at revelations. He recently picked up yun in ae as well so maybe hell be able to do some dmg at evo since he didnt do too hot during the sbo qualifiers
Like someone mentioned earlier sponsorships arent only for ae
@33 I like how you generalize one comment to all this Poongko talk also it's borderline d!ck riding they way your sounding. Also Mike would be #2-3 since Wolf or Latif would be tied for first.
@33
it hink your right. if anyone has a shot at Daigo its Vangief. call me crazy, but the match-up is in his favour, unless Daigo switches to Ryu...then thats a different story.
Mike Ross wouldnt even be top 10. Latif, Justin, PR Rog, Valle, etc... these guys will beat Mike. and there are lots more.
@36 I don't know Justin has been looking real off in AE and Mike has defeated him and PR in AE also didn't he beat Valle as well today (correct me if I'm wrong).
Also I'm a big Vangief fan but I don't believe that he will probably make it to face Daigo considering the heavy competition and counter-picking that is going to happen.
Poongko is gonna get signed before EVO. Don't worry ya'll. And no, he wont beat Daigo. Daigo is gonna three-peat Evo.
Alright, alright, maybe i AM too much of a Daigo fan, oh well. And the Poongko thing i just find it funny that some people want him to come to EVO to beat Daigo, so thats what i adressed, the guys who genuinely want to see him play i got no problem, i do too.
And you are right, Justin has been off, PR Rog idk, he's one of the guys who can pull a win out of nowhere but Mike has just been solid these days.
Justin is probably heavy on MVC3 and the MK and finally AE unless he pulls some surprises of your hat but the sudden jump to Yun all but confirms he isn't taking AE as before. Rog is good but he did pick up Yang as a secondary so we shall see if he sticks with Rog or is he going to keep Yang as a pocket character.
@36 Yeah maybe a few months ago, those guys were better then Ross, but as it stands no way. Mike has stepped up his game and I'm pleasantly surprised every time I watch him now. Justin has been playing too much Marvel so his AE skills are lacking. Ross is defiantly in top five right now in America.
In no particular order I say Krone, Ross, Ricky, Latif, and Sanford are the US frontrunners.
Kayane is nothing more then a pretty face, shes not even good at Super Street Fighter IV, shes just bassicaly someone that every guy throw's there meat at. And shes a douche bag like Phillipino Chump is. She think's shes better then everyone else.
She belongs in a Model Agency, nothing more. Because she doesn't have any brains. And I don't feel that way about all women, But I have talked to her, she don't care about anyone but herself and gives Asian Women a bad name.
@46 Aren't you the same one who talked smack about BYB and she came on here and called you out. Also like I mentioned above more than likely they are getting here for SC once that game drops.
Congratulations for women getting that fight money, too bad it they won't make it to top 32. ChocoBlanka vs. Kayane at Evo will be faptastic and then they will lose to an actual good player.
LLL is known by capcom they often work together on advertising of sf. thats why hart, kayane makes the chance to come on Madcatz. Poongko is a singel man, he plays whit his friends in korea, id cafe. do you realy think madcatz choose this 2 becouse they are better then poongko! dont make me laugh. its all about the friend of poongko OOTA86, he goinge make it happen that poongko comes to evo. like shadowloo showndown
Lee Chung Gon a.k.a Poongko WILL be making it to EVO 2011.

You guys can stop whining now.
#46 : DontTaseMeBro : I think you have me confused with Kayo Police, who is a model. I'm not in a models agency but in a business school in Paris.
And also, it's not because a woman is in a model agency that she has no brain...
I do not think i'm better than others, i always say that i have a lot to learn and improve.
its funny that people doesnt know kyane.shes the best girl in ssfae and on soul calibur, from all the interviews, she seemed nice.
@#50+51
Nationality != ethnicity/race. She can be easily of asian ancestry while still be french due to born there and what not. Wouldnt say alioune doesnt have african ancestry would you? Anywho last i checked france doesnt separate its people by color/ancestry when it comes to determining who is french and who's not. And you should read the comments if you dont get why people are seeminly hating on the sign deal, people swear up and down that there are more deserving others.
@#52
No one really talks about him cause hes like the best where hes from.
@others
Just raw skills arent the determining factor for people getting signed. The companies also have an image to maintain. And if #58 is the real deal that business school knowledge would be a good thing to have also being the only SC player to really hear about. Like gootecks is more of a face person and organizer than being a top level player. And having females being signed shows that there isnt any discrimination of any sort, and with the FGC being more mainstream thats a good thing. As we all know how the world like to works when it comes to them things.
Frankly, I couldn't care less about who's sponsored or not. I think it's great for those who are and congratulations to Kayane and Ryan Hart, but it doesn't change anything for me personally. If anything, I guess it's great for the community that more people are getting sponsorships. I will still keep playing fighting games and enjoying them.
You guys need to realize sponsorships aren't only about Street Fighter. Kayane is a BEAST on Soul Calibur and could be the reason why MCZ decided to pick her up instead of Poongko and stuff
Kayane and Pr. Balrog in the same team? Thats gonna be akward.
btw most racism ive ever seen on eventhubz :(
cant say that...
just no...
eg... a guy lives in hardcore asian country that loves street fighter and plays everyday with the cream of the crop in a top arcade in the counter... Black, white, purple it doesn't matter. If that person fails to get better and close or up to their level, then they need to quit playing as they are not INTELLIGENT enough to play the game at the required standard.
Silly childish statement...

the end of the trailer was a teaser that MC was sponsoring DMG, in which was announced at CEO. Wings = DMG crest.
@ people who STILL don't get it:
At the end it doesn't matter who gets signed as long as they are worth the pickup. Kayane and Ryan Hart are two excellent SSF4 players worthy of the sponsorship....bottom line.
It's sad that the FGC is the first to throw the sexist and race cards because it's the easy way to devalue the announcement instead of being supportive.
Everyone needs to understand that this is a good thing, a very good freaking thing for this trend to continue and at the end it will help the FGC as a whole.
DMG is the only US team that is sponsored by Mad Catz. There is a reason why and with players like PR Balrog, Inthul, Rico Sauve, BurnYourBra, PerfectLegend and Kor (just to name a few)we will do our best to represent the US by doing what we do best; winning.
one thing i will say about this is that there is more to the fgc than street fighter and if kayane is the beast i heard she was in soul caliber then i think she deserves to be sponsored. not to mention the fact that since soul caliber 5 is coming out, madcatz will surely want to put out a stick and that means a lucrative marketing opportunity for them.
justin wong isn't even the favorite to be in grand finals anymore...
Madcatz is just too OP with all it's members go after VRyu & Luffy next. But in the end SC should be where she really shines more than SF can't wait to see that. As for Ryan his time in Japan should have him very polished against the competition if he is going to EVO.
It's completely stupid that some people find Ryan Hart and Kayane's sponsorship a prod towards supporting minorities or under-represented groups in the fighting game scene.
I don't know much about Kayane, but Ryan Hart has been in the fighting game scene for a very long time. He's been successful in winning tournaments around the world. He's an intelligent guy with a lot of knowledge regarding fighting games. Any time I've seen Ryan in an interview he's always conducted himself well. He's the perfect face for the scene. He's polite, knowledgeable, intelligent and professional. It makes complete sense that MadCatz, the No1 supplier of fighting game peripherals would want to have him on-board.
Someone like Marn is a complete turn-off for sponsorship. Just look at him. He makes a fool of himself constantly. He looks unprofessional, he can't speak well, and he calls people bitches on stream.
Being a good player is only 1 facet of being a good face for a company. Of course you have to be good to get more publicity for the sponsors, but being a role model to others in the scene is of the utmost importance as well. Who would want to look up to Marn? Would you want to be like him?
Combofiend has the right personality for sponsorship also. Mike Ross... again, is perfect. Someone like Filipino Champ shouldn't be sponsored by anybody. Look at how he conducts himself in tournaments. Throwing sticks about and generally acting like a spoilt brat.
Being someone associated with a product means being good at the thing you're associated with. It means conducting yourself well in the public domain and endorsing the product that you're associated with to your best ability.
The Madcatz team are represented perfectly in their respective territories. Diago, Mago, Tokido in Japan. Ryan Hart, Kayane in Europe. I think they could maybe do with one more candidate from Europe. It would have to be someone who is not only skilled, but someone who has the right attitude in the public arena.
Having thought about another European player, I would probably go with Alioune. He's popular amongst European players and is very skilled from what I've seen of him. I don't know what sort of personality he is though. But I'm sure he'd do a good job.
@65 You are a racist if it was immediate for you. Ryan Hart is the U.K's top player as well as top 3 in Europe. Kayane won the ladies EVO last year and is attractive. From a marketing standpoint those are smart choices. This is Madcatz's play to get players representing them in Europe and they picked two great ones.
When you ignore the obvious merits for selecting these two players and go straight to affirmative action (even though its a U.S thing and these guys are European) you have issues. Go sort those out.
You guys do realize performance is only half the reason for sponsorships. Winning = popularity of course but exposure overall is just as good. Kayane is a very attractive girl so by nature she attracts attention at these tournaments win or lose. It's a buisness decsion. Of course they expect her to win but it's not an overall requirment. As long as she is on the streams and exposed, their brand is advertised.
Thats the point of sponsorships; we'll support your travel and equipment if you sponsor and support our brand. Im not taking anything away from her or Choco, but there are some male players that are pretty average but they are also signed as well which may have a lot ot do with their overall exposure. It's just easier for most girls especially attractive ones to recieve lots of attention.
they got all the international players
