Some nice combos, but it's a bit worrying how many of them require FADCs, it gives the impression that competitively he's really impractical and relies far too much on available meter.
You are right shoto saurus he does need meter to do damage. He´s a monster tho.
Wow, the one at 1:18 is nifty. A juggle into U2 with FULL animation.

That example is a bad one, jumping in with HP into grounded HP>insert rest of combo would be alot of damage for just about anyone that can do so. The point of this video was supposed to be directed at more practical combos.
And getting a free jump in and combo of choice dont happen often(if at all during a match) compared to getting in a few grounded attacks with either the light or mediums into full combos. Which is what it tends to boil down too for most matches.

Ok... then just replace j. HP with c. LP... still big damage compared to the combo starting from 2:11 in the video.
I still get pretty good amount of jump ins in a typical match... mostly crossups.
My main doesn't have good links with grounded light/medium attacks for combos.
@#11
yea about how many C. lp can you do until it pushes them too far to link a S. HP. Those where simple hit confirm combos thus why the damage was on the lower end not a fair comparison. As alot of people tend to need about 2 light attacks for the hit confirm. Usually c. LK> c. LP> etc. gotta keep the ideal in mind when comparing.
As most E.ryu ive seen usually end up doing a combo which fadcs the fireball into HP>MK axekick> rest of combo. Like C.lk>C.lp>C.mp>fireball>fadc>hp>axekick>c.mp>tatsu>uppercut.
Dont really see people going for the direct link into HP>axekick after the light attacks for a good meterless combo. So using E.ryu thinking he has high damage AND easy meterless combos dont seem likely. Good damage but not just simply easy to do the links it requires, or im sure there would be a better showing for E.ryu.
And your example for landing jump ins is bad aswell, what character are you using that you cant capitalize on light attacks but many cross overs? Landing a cross up in general easier to land than a raw jumping HP or HK which is what your original example contained.
TLDR: All im really trying to say is dont mislead the guy with your E.ryu example, cause if it really was that simple and easy there would be E.ryus everywhere tearing it up...especially given the popularity of the character.
@#1 I agree with the only thing new I learned was counterhit f.mk could combo into target combo 1, but other then that not really anything to interesting, some nice damaging U2 combo's.
@#5 Unless you play oni (which from the sounds of it you don't) you wouldn't know that Oni is like seth, he builds meter like a monster, but because he doesn't have srk FADC all I really spend my meter on is super set-ups and FADC combo's/FADC pressure, this actually makes oni a very powerfull character as I can pressure people with blockstrings for up to 10 hits involving throw pressure and overheads, and I have the ability to FADC around 3-6 times a match depending on the length.
