does sako main yang now i hope not... i like his ibuki
if cody had a viable "get off me" move he would be one of the top tier.
With me bieng a cody player I didn't really see anything mind blowing...there's better codys online myself included. I was more interested In the yang gameplay. Another overated overseas player
@13 Right. That was just before you woke up with your thumb in your ass from your mother calling you saying that the shortbus was waiting.
Firgured you event scrubs noobs would get but hurt...maybe none of you are top level cody players or just never played or seen other good codys check out i8600011 or ryan hunter there codys are light years ahead of this guys...@ #16 the number 1 and 2 codys on xbl are boosters so answer your statement no.
@22 yes I play a smarter and better cody overall I use all of codys tools knife fighting included
some of you scrubs dont even know what your watching, yes the cody player is top level, and sake makes yun look like fei long god like. he does counter only hit combos 2 hards, also for one of the scrubs who said criminal upper is -5 on block true but you can make it safe with specfic block strings and set up "traps", but you wouldnt know anything becuase you think you know it all. watch all high level codys. and im sure this is the best yang hes played., honestly sako did amazing thing with his yang and put him on the map. great video
Yes, taking advantage of pushback of moves.
Wow, such great in-depth knowledge.
Yang is regarded top Tier on his own already.
Also, eventhubs had videos of him playing against other Top players before today's videos with Sako.
Finally, there are also now replays of his sets with Nemo, top Yang Grandmaster. Still plays nicely.
@29 not only would I body you with cody id troll the s*** out of you with dan.... gamertag dalauan sparrow
@ #30
Dude, you're not better than anyone here, stop calling other people scrubs. Get off your pedestal.
You couldn't even recognize the irony behind the fact that twins can punish moves that are safe against lots of characters (thus the -5, should be safe).
A #31 said, making use of pushback moves, great in-depth knowledge. Rotfl.
Lol@37 I had that match...and didn't know the akuma match up that well back then but yea he got me.
@#21 theonlydalauansparrow
Personally I’d put Kawagu111chi & Momochi’s Cody before Sabre, i8600011 & Ryan Hunter’s Cody. I don’t know where I’d put Dnm3rd as I haven’t watched enough replays/fights of his yet.
Watch “Kawagu111chi (Cody) Vs Gameinn (Daigo) (Ryu)” – Spoiler, Kawagu111chi beats Daigo “The Beast” Umehara so you know he’s good if you haven’t heard of him before (this was in SSFIV not SSFIV: AE btw.)
@theonlydalauansparrow I bet you have a long list of tourney wins to make us give two flying sh**s about why you exist? No? Ok, then how about a list of top players you've beaten?
Sasaki's Cody is good but he just looks very limited against Sako's Yang. The fact that his offence consisted mainly of cr.lk, criminal upper which is unsafe tells you everything you need to know. Cody has no safe blockstrings outside of cr.lp,cr.lp,cr.lk, a slide & an overhead that are both negative frames on hit, no safe specials, no reversal move and the same walk speed as Zangief. While Sako is undoubtably a great player Yang's options are infinitely better, safer and easier to set up. It really looks like Sako is on auto pilot here which is kind of sad really.
@#44
Properly spaced criminal upper is not punishable by Yang with his 3 frame normals cause he cannot reach cody(pushback). SO no, not unsafe.
He messed up the spacing once or twice.
The fact that Cody lacks those tools but he still could get it and start his pressure, frametraps and make so many good reads is telling.
Check the User channel, there are many more matches with other top players
Why are there so many fights on EventHubs? Why can't most people chat more like #44 and #46 here?...
I think this Cody player is really good. He didn't seem to have much trouble even when Yang was all in his face.
Lag spike at 13:28 in the 2nd vid maybe?
@46
I don't know what videos you've been watching but Cody's counter hit game in all 3 videos was almost non existent, any Cody player knows that cr.lk, criminal upper is a good tool but can't be relied on because it's not easy to space it so that it's safe, in all 3 videos most of his damage & offence came from this one source & at least 60% of the time they were unsafe but Sako didn't block so he got away with it. I wasn't knocking either player and i main Cody so the rest of your comments are kind of confusing lol
Cody is definitely solid mid-tier. The more I see of him, the more I like him. Cody does have some exploitable weaknesses, but his mix-ups and bag of tricks, along with good damage output give him a shot at anyone.
These matches were splendid. Yang is scary in corner....his Super is just a death sentence. lol He can chip you to death with it.
anyways back to the videos, sako had it easier because of the matchup yang has it easy, this cody didn't do 2 things that would of helped me, one is ex bingo more at least once or twice to get sako off of him its difficult to time against yang i know but sako did get away with a lot of things also,
he didn't go for any ch c hp ex rocks he coulda used it to allow him to get in sometimes
anyways thats my 2 cents
@41 thanks ill check out those vids@43 I think I still have a couple replays vs wolfkrones viper and mike ross using dj id have to check my battle log ill look and give you links if needed...@45 I'm on xbox live
#13 ..He beat Sako..Mago..Tokido..Poonkgo..Yea hes overrated lol. Without saying those are the gods of SF4 atm with Daigo and whatnot.
And lol # people saying his tornado is unsafe, you think this player didn't know that? He didnt get lucky when he beat those top 10 Japan players. Its just like Yuns shoulder, it pushes you away far enough that you sometimes cant punish. (As far as I know)
Sako was doing some crazy Yang stuff though o-
" Ok, then how about a list of top players you've beaten? "
" I think I still have a couple replays vs wolfkrones viper and mike ross using dj id have to check my battle log ill look and give you links if needed "
@theonlydalauansparrow
you've beaten krone ?
and mike ross using Dee jay ? I'd like to check out those replays NOW !! /s
lucky that people are stil in the dark with cody tools....
Once Sako stopped falling for Sasaki's AA baits and jump kick normal trap, the matches were pretty much his to win (Sasaki kept going for the trap and it didn't just not hit, he would get punished bad for it). That and Sasaki has a habit of finishing combos without hit confirming and being punished for it (ending block strings with a Criminal Upper and getting punished with Rekkas, or EX Upper FADC Ultra when the EX Upper didn't hit). His Cody is still sick, but you can see the holes that are holding him back a bit.
For people saying that he was doing unsafe jab criminal uppers watch the video again. Sako whiffs the punish stand short xx mantis slashes like 5 times before he even lands one. Sasaki knew what he was doing, it's just hard to set up. The only thing I didn't understand was not why Sasaki didn't use EX Bingo FADC on wake-up against Sako, but more as to why he didn't use EX Bingo after blocking mantis slash FADC. Sako got away with that constantly.
@35 Enough said.
Lol Cody really is the only "street fighter" in the game.
@theonlydalauansparrow
Don't mind me. I'm just mad.
Cody is about block strings, frame traps and DAMAGE. So u must try to stay on the offense with him on whatever your doing. When i mean that i dont mean rushing down mindlessly.
Also cr.MK is good to use when your opponent crosses up, jumps in when on wakeup, or to use when u wanna stay in your opponents face.
cr.LK is good for punishing moves especially online since it comes out in 3 frames. Since Cody doesnt really have a dragon punch u must use EX BINGO (has invincible frames and takes 3 seconds to charge)but u have to read your opponent when to use it because its punishable, but u can FADC it into Ultra 1, or use it if your not sure they are gunna block it to stay on the offense (Opponent wont be thinking you will be wasting 3 meters from so it might throw em off)
U can use cody's cl.MP normal to use as anti air if your opponent does a neutral jump in your face and use holding back MP if they are jumping in...If u hit em with back MP u have a couple options to mix it up, either jump in on em, do a crack kick then grab, dash in then use cr.LK, crack kick then do a neutral jump, dash or crack kick then just block to bait em, do Cody's overhead, walk up and possibly use EX BINGO etc....
Dalauan Sparrow, after reading your comments, I checked out youtube for some of your replays. You must be completely insane if you think that any character you play could get anywhere close to Sasaki's Cody. It seems you make a habit of making arrogant statements and overestimating your own skill, because on most of your match videos other players have commented on how they have beaten you many times and you have sent them hate mail or blocked them, presumably so that you don't have to face them online again and get blown up, and if you block enough good players you will eventually only play less skilled players than yourself (which seems to be your specialty) and you will gain a nice boost to your BP. Not only this as someone mentioned earlier, PIKACHUAKUMA has posted a video of one of your matches and you posted a very negative comment insulting this person. This leads me to believe that you are a troll made purely of sodium chloride.
I also unfortunately stumbled across a video of you eating a granola bar, emitting barely audible deranged mutterings and looking at yourself in the camera seemingly sexually aroused and deeply satisfied with your own appearance. This was one of the most painful 47 seconds of my life, however I couldn't stop watching it because it was so weird and I thought you might be mentally ill.
I also watched a video of one of the players you suggested were better than Sasaki (as well as yourself of course) and in the first round said player tried a level 3 focus attack on wake-up after a knockdown which was mistimed and whiffed, at which point I discounted your claim as false and turned off.
In summary, don't insult other people's play, it's just not nice and it's not what "event scrubs" as you call it is about(if you think the site is for scrubs why are you a member?). If you are going to make ridiculous claims like saying you are a better player than one of the best Japanese players, back it up with some hard evidence or be exposed for the complete fraud that you are. The majority of people on this site are here to appreciate other players matches, learn and enjoy, not promote themselves or make negative comments that just annoy. Please reconsider your actions.
When one of the gods of Japan step down, this kid is going to take their place. Mark my words.
