Although there have been multiple hints that there would be Marvel vs. Capcom 3 news at this year's San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel decided to disperse with all of the teasing and just come out and say it.

San Diego Comic-Con 2011 takes place from July 21 - 24 and there will be a Street Fighter X Tekken panel a little bit before the MvC3 shindig takes place.

For those of you that haven't, here's the skinny so far:
12 new characters.
Phoenix Wright.
Strider.
Everything else is up in the air.
I don't think it's going to be about "Super" MvC3. Somewhere around July 15th, the game will have been out for 5 months. Even though a lot of people hate certain things about the game (or many things depending on the person), I have a hard time believing they're going to be like, "Hey remember that game you bought 5 months ago? Well here is an updated version of it! Please buy it."
My bet the announcement is DLC characters.

I hope that they announce Spectator Mode soon as well as DLC characters and new stages. New stages make the game more fresh instead of battling in the same stages for so long.
Lupinko, as much as it kills me to say, has been on the ball with his predictions. I don't think Super MvC3 will be done (because that's not the VS series style) but maybe more DLC packs. Sven, S-Kill, and the others have been putting a lot of thought in the DLC polls from Unity/SRK, and if his 12 characters theory is true, then the top 6 from Mahvel/Kapucom sides will be lucky.
Or....Marvel Super Heroes 2: Civil War. A sequel to the Beat em up from the SNES/CPSII era. :P

No, it isn't 50/50. What the fans want means nothing. We already have a character from the X franchise, the X clue doesn't relate to X much at all except very obscurely, and the StarForce clue fits perfectly. Unless you think we'll have two Mega Mans? Grow a brain please.

No Dan love? I swear, we can have M.O.D.O.K., but no Dan? That's like Pancakes but no syrup. Its just a PANCAKE. If Capcom really wants the dough, GIVE THE FANS WHAT THEY WANT. Strider, Venom, Megaman X, Gambit, Phoenix Wright, Juggernaut, etc. Also get some patches out. Nerf Dark Phoenix, take out X-Factor. Make MvC3 alive again, and most IMPORTANTLY, bring my man Dan back with the Level 3 Otoko Michi. Make it so over powered it kills everyone without X- Factor and gives Dan a 50% health increase. That is all.
Give me Strider Hiryu and Gambit and iI will have no complaints.
Give me Jin Saotome and Psylocke on top of that and I will give Capcom another $60.
i hope they nerf the crap out of every single character so you can play a little more, the one hit->100% combo with most characters kills the fun for me. i seriously feel that 90% of the time im siting there watching the other player beat me with an anoyingly long combo, or using one against him, wich is not all that diferent considering how easy they are to do.

- The announcement is for a "super" version of MvC3, called Marvel vs Capcom 3 EX. It will be available as a DLC update and as a retail disc (with limited supplies, mostly distributed via online retailers), as well as a PC version and an (eventual) Wii U version. Pricing and release date are still being decided, but the rough release date is Q4 2011.
- The game will add 10 new characters, and Jill and Shuma will be part of the update if you don't have them already (they aren't counted towards the 10 characters).
- The only two characters I'll tell you about are the ones actually being announced at Comic-Con, which are Frank West and Cyclops.
- None of these new characters will be available as separate DLC for "vanilla" MvC3. You have to get the whole pack together.
- 4 new stages.
- The game will add some new modes and features.
- New alt costumes will also be announced for the game. You can also use these alt costumes in "vanilla" MvC3. The next set of alt costumes will be available just after the Comic-Con MvC3 presentation.
- Multiple glitches and balancing issues will be fixed in a patch available sometime in August. These changes will also of course carry over to MvC3EX.

As far as 'Super' is concerned, bring it on, I love this game I'll dish out $40.
@72 just a cool character, I don't care what or who they were in MVC2 just bring some old faves and make them viable.
Lastly, DO NOT NERF Phoenix! I don't use her and I kill her. I love the character because she's high risk, high reward. Buff Sentinel, the nerf was too much, he's over rated anyway.

You do know Sent can kill anyone with an easy 4 hits in X-factor and his NORMALS have armor AND ground-bounce properties that often lead to death. AND he can Hyper off his own hypers easy as hell. He can OTG from almost full screen away to death. AND unlike what he looks like he is often easily defeated in the series and comics unlike...Dr. Doom or Wolverine, etc.
If anything Buff Arthur. He has like nothing.
I'm still hoping that Cyclops will finally be a playable on MVC3. Please Marvel and Capcom! Let it happen!

I believe cyclops appeared on the higher end on the character polls. His missing presence was questioned alot when mvc3 first came out. Dont see why not add him in.

What you mean the nerf was too much? only thing they touched really was his health and increased the damage on his launcher. And sentinel is still a crazy beast with or without xfactor. Hes in a good spot. Over rated perhaps but none the less still an effective character on all fronts. Which alot of characters cant say.

How fast sentinel kill is irrelevant in terms of xfactor, as nowadays anyone can kill off one combo with xfactor. Sent just get it done faster so people like in post #68 dont have to sit there and watch a mini combo video just to get the point across.
And poor arthur, in a game capcom purposely made it harder to play keep away, having crappy health+ poor mobility with below average damage just doesnt mix well with their design goals they had in mind.

STILL NO MENTIONS OF SPECTATOR MODE in that list, and given the track record it is not safe to assume its gonna be in. As that expectation was there the first time around >:(
And if cyclops is in they better find a way to safely have all his previous moves in. The control layout is making me think how they gonna have it all in. Cyclops is gonna be the seth of this game with overlapping inputs. Not to mention Cyclops gene splice uppercut can hit multiple times like seths, based on user input.
Because Im not a prick. I will share a quick tip on how to use spidey well.
USE WEB SWING. RDP+A It's fast, does good chip, + on Block to go into overheads or low mix-ups, and if it connects leaves opponent in juggle state for a spider-sting combo.
Use OTG assists to help extend his combos
Dont really care. MvC3 and its broken gameplay can die a quick death for all i care.

I have an irrelevant request to Capcom (so bare with me plz lol). I d like to suggest that as SSF IV 3D Edition was a launch title for the 3DS and SF X T will be a launch title on the PS VIta (right?) that if rumors of a new PS4 or XB for the next 2-3 years are true then it would be awesome to have SF V launch with those or one of those systems by then.
Also it would be cool or course to see MVC 3 on the PS Vita as well
i think x-men destiny will be a huge let down. anyways i hope cyclops comes back as well as mega man for mvc.
