lol, ok. Mashing down, down forward and down gives u dragon punchs, Need A reversal? Mash like a manic, it WILL come out.
Easier inputs:
Shoryuken: Hold down-back -- double tap forward and punch
For charge ultras, you don't even need to let go of the back button. Hold back for 2 seconds, and just double tap forward (while still holding back) then 3xPunch or 3xKick. That simple and fast.
This is great for charge partioning and your moves get charged faster. Eg: Sonic Boom -- hold back and just tap forward and punch, you dont even need to let go of back- boom will come out. Since you are holding back all the while, your next boom starts charging immediately after you finish tapping the forward button. So you can do the next boom faster.
@JohnGrimm
I see, I was thinking it will the same as with the keyboard. Oh well :)
The two dp inputs the game recognises are:
hold forward, tap down (shows as forward, downforward, forward)
hold down and forward, release and press forward (shows as downforward, down, downforward)
Incidentally the game does not recognise the traditional inputs, the traditional one simply overlaps the current ones.
what does this controller allow us to do that any other controller couldn't?
@13
Faster, exact inputs. That's about it (I'm guessing).
@Mugenpunch This doesn't work on a hitbox brand hitbox. For some reason they've decided to make simultaneous opposing directionals cancel. Meaning that if you're holding down back and you double tap forward the input actually reads down-back, down, down-back, down. It's dumb, but I guess it makes it better for BlazBlue and GuiltyGear which require down to be recognized on 360's. The problem is nobody plays those games so constructing your box to conform to those games is stupid. =P /troll
It's an innovative concept, this 'stickless' controller. But I wonder, will people actually drop their normal sticks to get used to fighting on this one? I certainly wouldn't.
Using a stick has become, well... it's become natural to most people who play fighting games. That thing looks unnatural.
@JohnGrimm
For the booms, you should have said something about how easy it is to buffer the next boom since you don't need to move the stick from forward back to back.
You can just tap forward for the boom and immediately start holding back to charge for the next one. Like a plink.
I'm thinking of the HitBox in the same vein as a piano. I've always been told I have "piano fingers." Hell, the sound of the buttons' timing and can be used as a way to memorize!
Memorization of the timing and patterns without having to fudge around with the joystick would make things much more well defined and memorable for me, so I'll be getting one, hopefully dual modded, it should be easier for me to practice consistently and crank out combos on this. I'm poop at combos because I get tripped up on the joystick :(
I would love to see him do a standing 720 in super turbo with this thing. Pulling those off consistantly and maybe showing caseing it as being easier would help make this whole hitbox joystick look more credible.
why do u need a lesson for dragon punchs in sf4? Mash the corners along with some punchs. sf4 baby inputs ftw.
