In a brief piece on SiliconEra, Capcom's Seth Killian mentions that the roster for Street Fighter X Tekken hasn't been 100% finalized. He also explains how Cole from the InFamous games was added in as an exclusive character for both the PlayStation 3 and Vita releases.
"Discussions between Sony and Capcom came to it. They were looking for a character and Capcom got excited about Cole," explained Killian. "It seemed like the timing was about right with Infamous 2 coming out around this time and it seemed a character that had a lots of possibilities, in terms of gameplay. Obviously, there is a big range of moves and I think we fell in love with the electric tornado like everyone else should of. There was his shockwave in Infamous 2 and we liked that, as well."
Killian added that they do not have information on what's happening with an exclusive character on the Xbox side of things, yet.

I just don't understand why they chose Cole.
No one knows who Cole is. They didn't time it to coincide with Infamous 2's release. Infamous as a franchise isn't even popular and the sequel is considered worse than the already average original.
It just seems like a bad decision from all angles.
I'm hoping for a Gears of war character, MK should have got one so I really hope SFxT gets one.

i hope the roster is finalized at at least 41 characters, with 20 characters for each side and cole as a guest character. seems like a reasonable number doesn't it? especially with all the recycling they're doing with the majority of the street fighter characters.
let's see given ono's statements about definitely getting some characters in that haven't been seen in a while(and thus not being in ssf4:ae), i expect about 25% of the street fighter side to be newly created for sfxt.
25% of 20 characters is 5 characters.
5 + 20 newly created tekken characters is 25.
25 + 1 newly created guest character is a total of 26 newly created characters for sfxt which is equivalent to the number of characters created for vanilla sf4(not counting cole) thus 41 characters being a pretty reasonable number.

the problem isn't infamous, the game itself is pretty good. its just dat cole doesn't fit into sfxtekken. he's the type of character dat wud of been a good fit for a game like mvc3. take kratos for example, he's a pretty cool guest character for mk9, but lets say they put him in ssf4. he wudn't really of fit into it.

What happends at tournements? bcos 360 users wont have him on there version of the game. So if a tournement is held using PS3's, would he be banned? as it wouldnt be fair on the 360 players.

i love Cole, and he has the potential, there is nothing wrong, alot of people know Cole, and he was put in the game to boost popularity for Infamous. The games are good, and may become one of PS best Franchises, but no one will be as high as Uncharted.
I dont see how any console specifc characters can be anything but intentional garbage tier .How can you have this game in fair tournaments if all characters are not available depenign on which console it's played on ?unless they ban the console specific ones I guess

One thing I do wonder though..Everyone is always wanting more characters and always want ''insert char'' mostly Karin, rolento, mika, w/e atm. But im almost a 100% sure that even if karin or w/e was in SSF4 AE only 5 or so would actually main her lol. (Not litteraly)
Remember how you guys wanted Dudley so bad? Yea. Dude I NEVER Meet a Dudley, no one picks the dude. Hes not top tier, but hes def. a solid mid tier. Hes a decent char, flashy, cool, he's Dudley. I rarely see any chars apart from tops.

Cole doesn't fit because he is not in both franchise. Its like putting blazblue character in MvC. That just don't make sense. You already got a bunch of good character from both streeth fighter and tekken. Why would you put some one from a total different franchise in the game? That decision ruins the whole game.

thats the truth. There was a bunch of sf3 people begging for characters and when they got in sf4 nobody wanted to leave there ryu/ken behind and the sad thing about it is that all of those characters where really solid to strong(makoto suffered not because defensive nature of the game). Out of all the new characters in super 4 only hakan was unuseable, but again nobody switched to there "favorite" that they spammed this site about.

This is really a BAD idea. Why add a character that has nothing to do with either franchise. Its uninteresting and unappealing.

I think people are vexed just because of how random a choice Cole seems. I guess the people that have a problem with this just want something a little more relevant to both the SF and Tekken worlds. As random as he is I think he looks like he could be a fun character with his lightning tornado thing. And regarding your question, I want to see Ezio or Altair in there. Yeah, that's even less relevant than Cole, but wouldn't it be awesome to pwn with an assassin?

@48, cole wudn't fit into ssf4 or tekken 6. he wud be a good fit for mvc3 considering he has a playstyle which wud go well with dat game, but then again the game is "marvel vs capcom" so he's best not to be in it to begin with lol

I can honestly see what people have stained feels for Cole (being a super hero in a crossover with fighters) but I guess its how you take it. @ 60 I can see where your getting at but this is more on part with Sony then Capcom, seeing how they put there characters in other games for more exposer (like how Kratos is in both Mortal Kombat and Soul Calibur). But I don't Cole really effecting how this game will turn out. If anything Cole probably not going to play in role in the game (like MK9 with Kratos) and just be there for an added bouns. At the end if the day, it will just be another character.
I'm still unsure about the addition of a character who's got nothing to do with either franchise, it just feels weird but I only got a PS3 so I'll have to get used to it :]
