Street Fighter: Ryu's theme history by TheDarkAce

TheDarkAce posted a collection of Ryu's theme songs spanning several games and systems. This is over an hour and a half long and contains the songs from the Street Fighter 2 series, including the SNES and Genesis versions. It also makes its way into the latter games, like Alpha, SF3, SF4 and finishes up with the Vs. games. This is a good way to hear how Ryu's theme evolved over the years.

Make sure you check out the video's description as there are quick jumps to most of the songs on there, letting you skip around and find any particular themes you want to hear.

I haven't listened yet, but I'm planning to. I love SF's soundtrack, and I'm wondering whether the guy is going to do other characters aswell.

Ryu akuma and Kens theme are freaking bad-ass.
I listen to it while exercising or riding my bike.
it gets me hype and it starts my day right.

Nothing beats the glory of the snes themes
its epic, up til now.

There's a Sagat Theme in there (the one from the grass field in SFA2, inspired by the grass field in SFII Movie).

Also, Rising Dragoon (SFEX) is the BEST Ryu Theme EVER.

Throughout the many years I've heard his theme in the Street Fighter series, it never changes. Though there were some games where his theme was different like the Vs. series, Ryu's theme is easily recognizable.

Goddamn the Alpha 3 Ryu theme is such a throwback to the 90's. It just screams how awesome fighters were back then. Garou: MOTW & 3rd Strike had pretty good soundtracks too.

The track that starts @ 32:15ish isn't Ryu's theme. It's actually a remixed Sagat tune from Alpha2....(wow that was an awesome stage too, ryu v. sagat fighting alone in an storm ridden, australian prairie...)

...IMO the best of the Alpha series
