• On the matter of showing hitboxes in fighting games, Sven said there are some people internally that are in favor of making this happen, and some people who aren't, adding that latter group feels this gives away too much, although this information often shows up on the web later on down the road.
• Sven said he's "totally down" with doing something with Smash Bros series.
• Christian reiterated what he said before about MvC3, that they still care a lot about the game, but continued to ask for patience.
• The SSF4 AE PC version DLC contains all of the costumes for each of the 5 characters in every pack. So there's 15 costumes per pack. You can check out this post for more of an explanation.
I'm in favor having that option in training mode. I don't really understand the concept of hitboxes "giving away to much".
why do these people think they are the real talent behind capcom games?
Yeah Bring back Strider, In mvc3 and in his own game.
The Psx version was awesome.
And people have forgotten onimusha the series was great.
Define the word "epic"
And what about Tatsunoko vs Capcom???
Many great games are being forgotten
While Sh*&y games gets released.
all I want is power stone characters join mvc3 like falcon, wang tang or the ninja chick I forget her name
@5: I think everyone's forgotten TvC by now, not just CAPCOM.
About arcade edition.
Iam just curious is there GFWL issues in this game.
Been through some forums and articles
regarding some regions not allowed in windows live.
and I have a GFWL key for re5 can i use it on sf4 ae?
That work in vanilla pc version.
@7 I still have my TvC stick, as a matter of fact I have it hooked up to my PC right now for SSFIVAE's release.
TvC didn't get the love it deserved. Not only from Capcom but also gamers in general. I hope it is re-released on the WiiU with its improved online system.
I'm in favor of showing hitboxes... this would raise the level of play between players, people would know what their character is really capable of. I created the WAMO utility for SSF4 and I can attest this has helped a lot of competent players raise their level of play. I had personally seen this on tournaments and the matches get really more entertaining... specially on high level players.
@12 Basically yeah. I honestly felt betrayed by Capcom when they did that. The game hadn't even been out a year yet when MvC3 was announced. Nobody was going to invest time/money/energy into TvC when the much more recognizable(and requested) MvC was just around the corner.
They killed the community before it even had a chance.
(Do it! CapcomxNintendo! You still have time while the 3DS/WiiU versions are pre-production!)
I've been DYING for capcom to put hitbox display in training mode (I even have a suggestion up on unity for it).I'm def all for it.especially in the sf4 series cuz theres some connections that look really funky and don't make much sense.hitbox display would clear a lot of that up.
To those arguing that it reveals too much makes no sense.casual players will never use it and it'll still only be the pros that can utilize this available info to the fullest. by itself it doesnt tell u a damn thing! u the player still need to do all the work!!!
if anything having hitbox display will only leave every1 trying to go pro on truly equal footing with every1 else.
I'm def. down with showing hitboxes in AE. It's funny though, people believe that it gives away too much while it's advanced technical aspect of the game, but they have SF4 full of shortcuts.
Gives away too much for whom? Advanced players should be able to use every resource available learn and since hitboxes are a huge aspect of gameplay, it can only raise the knowledge of the community. It definitely needs to be in training mode. Only serious players use TM anyway and they should be rewarded for careful study of the game and engine.
@hadokendj Honestly, as much as I prefer MvC's character roster I think you are right in terms of gameplay and variation. I do hope they do a TvC2 or maybe a TvC3D for the 3DS.
Hell, I would LOVE if Capcom did a game literally titled "Versus" or "Capcom Versus" and they chose the best of the best characters from CvS MvC TvC and made a game (obviously cut a lot of characters, don't want some crazy 100+ character mugen select screen. Just choose the best/most iconic characters from each game and keep it around 50-60)
I agree with hitboxes not being revealed for new games in modes like training. It really does just give away too much
