Combofiend & Filipino Champ join CompLexity / Cross Counter

Peter "Combofiend" Rosas and Ryan "Filipino Champ" Ramirez have joined Mike Ross and Gootecks on the CompLexity / Cross Counter team.

Mike Ross had this to say about the newest additions to the team.

When compLexity gave me a chance to become player manager for the fighting game community I knew this would mean great things. With that I am happy to bring along Filipino Champ and Combofiend to the coL.cc roster. These are two great players in both Marvel vs Capcom 3 and the Street Fighter 4 series. I feel that with these two players on board, people will begin to see the potential of what compLexity Cross Counter can bring to the scene.

Great pick for Combofiend. I am not a fan that they picked Filipino Champ, but I respect their decision. His skills are great. It's his attitude that I can't stand. Ross and Champ are 2 completely different people. One is the people's champ. The other has the attitude of LeBron James.

Good Overall picks..People quickly shout viscant cause of mvc3, but both Champ and Fiend play ssf4/mvc3 very well. More Exposer/More money. Honestly not a fan of him, but he has matchup knowledge and oh yea plays a phoenix team..Congrats gentlemen.

I think picking up FChamp is a waste. I hate to say it but, he'll never come close again to winning SF4 AE with Yun and Yang added, unless they release another patch or another game. Maybe champ picks up another character but, I still don't see him doing well in either MVC or SSF4 AE. Plus his image isn't the greatest for them IMO.

Apart from skill Champ is an odd pick for this team. You have these three well liked personalities rounding out the team, and then there's Champ. Well whatever he's a great player no denying that.

Champ can probably pick up Seth to counter the top tiers. Whatever he does, hopefully CompLexity teaches him some etiquette.

I agree with the majority of the negative sentiment towards FChamp here. He doesn't really come off as a likable guy like Combofiend, Mike Ross and Gootecks do, but I suppose if you want to please your sponsors, you need to get skilled players.

Champ might not have the most likable personality and attitude but let's face it, at least he does well in tourneys; for both mvc3 and SSFIVAE. The weakest link right now in complexity is Gootecks. He needs to step his game up and spend more time learning fei or pull a "Mike Ross" at tourneys. Anyways, concratz to both combo and champ.

There's no doubt that fchamp is a good player, regardless of how unlikeable the guy is, but now that yun and yang are in, he's gonna have a really hard time placing from now on I think.

Two good picks. I hate Champs demeanor though, hopefully the people's champ will mellow him out.

I want them to get viscant, but I know he works a lot and only plays marvel.

Yes, Ive wanted Combofiend as number 1 pick. Filipino..He's not gonna top 8 much more @ AE if he sticks with Dhalsim me thinks. Mvc3, from the matches I saw, only his Phoenix was decent (but whos isn't) hes a good player though but someone else woulda been cooler.

Also I hope the relationship between filipino and the rest is cool, cause they are prob. gonna team up more and stuff lol.

Team CC needs to pick up Chris Hu asap, that dude is in front of camera 80% of the time of every East Coast event, so you might as well have him promote something. Not to mention most viewers love him.

outside F. champs harsh demeanor, he is a smart player when it comes to mvc3 and ssf4. His dormammu is pretty good and magneto fairly decent. But due to the nature of the type of characters he picks and play style it backfires against him if he cant keep his opponent under control and out his face.
Besides each member perform good to average result in each game.
Mike ross recently started placing very high in AE, but never really see him get far in mvc3. Gooteck tend to have questionable results in both. Combofiend is quite sporadic in his results placing high at times in both games then other times missing. F. champ well explained above^^.

And @32
Chris Hu is a solid player, but he admits to not really practicing and shows a lack of care for getting better. Wouldnt really see the benefit of Complexity adding him to the roster as he usually ends up doing colorful commentary.

Im really happy for Combofiend but liek most people here i dont like that they chose F.Champ, when he called Julio a f***ing idiot he gave the rest of his credibility away, he just doesnt deserve to be sponsored. I think Wolfkrone for example would be a better choice, hes better and not a douche.

I really don't get why they chose Fchamp. Some douche who plays lame chars like Dhalsim and Phoenix? He's got a horrible attitude, and whatever 'skill' he might have is totally eclipsed by what an awful person he shows himself as.
Compared to Mike Ross and Gootecks, doing shows for the benefit, and entertainment, of the whole community and Combofiend who seems down to earth and has real skills, Fchamp just... Well, I just think he'll end up giving coL.cc bad rep, and that sucks for the rest.

LOL @ #2 Mike Ross is the peoples champ! He does resemble the Rock a little bit LOL (charisma not so much just looks).

Glad to see these guys making moves in the community, funny I was watching a tournament stream the other day and my dad was like "WTF is that?" I'm like its a fighting game tournament...remember when I was a kid and you would always say there's no money in playing video games? He said "Yea...I guess I have to eat those words now huh?" I really hope my kid takes an interest in video games like i did so i can nurture it instead of shun it.

Both undoubtedly great players and competitors. If they can all figure out teams/chars to use and are able to practice together, they could be a force at evo. And wow at so much hate. He's just competitive and confident and likes being loud. If they don't approve, he'll turn that down.

Combofiend will always be one my favorite top players ever since the SHGL years. He is an aggressive player, picks the most surprising characters with a majority of them being my mains, and an overall friendly guy.

Why was FChamp swearing at Seth K?

I saw combofiend coming. Fchamp is a very good however surprising choice, he is a very strong technical and overall very good player. But what everyone else has been saying, he does have a salty attitude but hopefully they will calm him down. He can bring knowledge and tips which ross, combofiend and gooteck might be missing.

Everyone is stating how he is going to get bodied by yun players but I don't think so. The daigo one was a wipeout as lets face it is daigo. I feel he still has a very strong chance, he will probably devise a new plan for yun and yang players as Dhalism can player in like 100 different styles. Plus i've seen him with some good backup selections though

This is my first post ever, these posts are filled with people standing behind a username that people don't know talking @#$@# about a person they don't really know this is Showstopper from cali if you guys don't know me you have been under a rock for the last decade and I will put my reputation on the line by saying this... F-Champ has been my training partner for years amongst Crizzle, Chunk, Hiro, Ricky since MVC2 days and people confuse his frustration from being so competitive with being an overall douche that's just not true, say whatever you will about the kid he's good and more than likely better than everyone who has posted a comment everyone gets salty then keeps there mouth shut some (like us) get salty and say whats on there mind that's that but the next day he would give you the shirt off of his back so say whatever you want about him or Complexity's decision but it was a good look. Do I smell a hint jealousy in the air!

P.S.S. your opinion does not matter really he was upset and probably a little out of line but a player that never could beat him not once not ever was able to beat him because of a game nerf and a new very over-powered character, that would lead to some frustration I'm not trying to appeal to anyone here because the pitchforks are already out.
