Oh, SFIII 3rd Online so nice! It will be fun!! ;D

I WANT Q PICS! Please people, understand that re-drawn sprites are AWESOME! I really hope this is more than concept art.
Chances are, this (3rd Strike Online) will be coming out before Arcade Edition (which will likely be on disc) as to keep a nice distance between retail releases of MvC3 and SSF4: AE. I'm guessing it'll be out in May or June.
I think it's just from the in-game art gallery.
i agree with Lance ^^ its the new 3rd strike art!
This is obviously menu art.
If this were an in game sprite, minds would melt in disbelief.
Besides, didn't Seth say that major graphics changes weren't happening other than HD conversion and (probably) graphics filters?
Here's hoping they throw in some balancing, though. I love me some Twelve, but sometimes he's a bit TOO hard to win with.
either way 3rd strike looks real good still. if they update it for the better its all good. if not oh well.
I hope this is the new look for third strike.. if so I'll play it!
Gotta agree with #20.
It's menu art, guys. We're not going to be getting an HD Remix of SF3 so stop building your hype now before you get extremely disappointed later on.
most likely in game model think about it.. why did capcom need so much development time for third strike if they weren't gonna update the look a little? they are stepping away from 2d sprites. and why tease a menu picture or art book?
@24
"most likely in game model think about it.. why did capcom need so much development time for third strike if they weren't gonna update the look a little?"
I think you underestimate how much development time it takes to port a game from one console to another, add graphical filters, add online play, change the menu, and add whatever other little extras they're planning on.
Likewise, I think you're GROSSLY underestimating how long it takes to completely redo a game with HD sprites. Obviously you weren't following HD Remix while it was in development. That game took FOREVER to come out, and 3rd Strike has sprites that are much more detailed than SF2 and there are a lot more frames of animation. An HD Remix of SF3 would take forever.
"and why tease a menu picture or art book?"
1) Because it's Ono and that's just what he does.
2) Because it's just a teaser pic on Twitter after-all. News about SF3 getting a complete graphical overall is big news and isn't something they would likely reveal via Twitter
i think they might be able to put together higher quality sprites.
if you check the arcade flyers their original materials were higher res than what they could actually squeeze into the game
http://flyers.arcade-museum.com/?page...
however there is no way they would end up looking like that.
That Yun looks too detailed for 3rd Strike, unless capcom have done a complete overhaul to its graphics, if this is yun from Tekken x Street then I must say that I am impressed just by the little pic show of him. I dunno why but I think the Namco Bandai version is going to be the better version of the cross over "X" series. No one knows anything or seen anything about the game so far, and thats what build even more curiosity from gamers about the title once they finally release so images or gameplay footage to the scene.
Put your wangs back in your pants, this game is not gonna be an HD remix. It's gonna be online with some nice menus, maybe remixed music and that's probably it. Honestly all this game needs is awesome netcode and that's it. No rebalancing, no changed graphics, it just needs the basics,GOOD NETPLAY.
it was probably a really cool pic of yun he say while testing or looking at the develpment and posted it i mean come on think like a person would i would have to if i was playin sf3 seen that i would have posted it to just think rationally i say
Since Street Fighter X Tekken uses the exact same sprites as the other plethora of SFIV games besides the fact that the characters now have more shading and bit more tone, I do not believe that is for that game.
A possible downloadable character for MvC3, I can see that but it still looks too detailed.
Background art does seem like the best option, especially due to his stance and high graphics update.
Since they stated the SFIII will not be changed but given online and I am not sure about a sprite enhancement, that cannot be Third Strike.
A possible part IV of Street Fighter III that might be an option.
None the less background is the biggest option and if this is to a new game, I commend Capcom on finally upping their game and hopefully the gameplay for whatever it would be from is as detailed as the muscles on Yun's arm.
Yun: The only character who Ono cares about these days...
blech.
oh wow .. a picture, what a way to hype this game. A model for SF X Tekken? Yun is already in SF4AE. As obvious as it was, they said no new characters. And I doubt they'd redo the sprites, not that they need to. They might just add all them online modes and titles from SSF4.
agrees with #20:
Too bad Twelve didn't make the cut to MvC3, he could have had a better chance ... maybe.
@Edbastian: I doubt it "only" because of the model they used for Ryu. Tekken at this time seems to be taken a less "dynamic" approach on graphics. However, that is still a possibility.
Like 3rd Strike needs an HD Remix. The sprites in SFII were dated, and they wanted to give it a fresh look, so the dumb kids of today don't go shi++ing on the graphics.
SFIII Though, has beautiful sprites, that have aged quite well. All that is needed is filters, a la Marvel 2's XBL/PSN launch has.
(And I'm pretty sure that's just art.)
Cool,but a blanka toy?
what could ono hide from us?
@ #55
Agreed. I'd say it could even go without the filters, MvC2 was filled with even older alpha style sprites. I hope they don't widen the screen while leaving the gameplay boxed in either.
@ #56
well... yeah, but blanka is a bit too predictable. Besides, SF3 already has a more interesting blanka/dhalsim hybrid.
The fan art will be used as the art for the character select screen, menu's and credits.
if they are going to balance the game fine! but AT LEAST have an option where you can play the old 3rd strike with better graphics like you can in HDR. i dont want to forget about the old 3rd strike days with new balancing and all that. please CAPCOM make it a win/win situation for both of us.
@67
yea as long as it has online and good netcoding. i want it to be like GGPO but without all the complications (btw can anyone help me setup an account on GGPO lol?)
anyone else notice the shadowed out character on Yuns right ? (His right.)
if this is ne indication of an HD remix to 3rd strike then i think i just came
Since we are on the Street Fighter x Tekken subject, watch what Ono did to Harada's office!
looks like a menu mode. you can clearly see "back" on the picture.
FIRST AND HOLY S#!T!!!!!!!!
