The Special Edition of Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is getting harder to pre-order by the day, and even the regular edition of the game is getting bought up at a solid pace.Svensson: GameStop has turned off their preorders last week [for the Special Edition] (having reached their allocation limit) and Amazon [for the] Xbox 360 turned off theirs yesterday for the same reason.
In a couple days, I suspect PlayStation 3 Standard Edition pre-orders will be turned off at Amazon as well.
Tip from Error.
This game is gonna sell out quick...hence, it probably wont be seen on the shelves for a while. Thankfully, my SE copy is already bought and paid for. XD
Lol! I actually went to pre-order the SE last week while picking up Mass Effect 2. Unfortunately, by that time Gamestop wasn't taking pre-orders on the SE. That's what I get for procrasting. :(
This made me remember how hard it was for me to get a copy of MVC2 when it arrive on Dreamcast it took me a week to get my hands on the game
I would just scan through eBay for a copy once its released
Considering PS3/360 games cost $110 here in Australia (Even though the exchange rate is averaging par with the green back these days), using Ebay to import a copy from the USA will save me tonnes.
ie...prob about $80 at most with postage included
With 10$ more and all the super nice stuff the special edition gives you, not surprised how fast it's selling out. A special edition for a game these that's actually worth it... Hell the strategy guide even seems to be hype. I'll buy it too if that looks good.
Already pre-ordered the CE and paid it off! All I gotta do is pick it up
Pre Ordered mine weeks ago. Though my gamestop isn't sure if there doing a midnight release >:(
Don't forget to use the coupon code THANKYOUTEN when you pre-order from the Capcom Store (Not sure when the code expires, so hurry). 10% and free USPS economy shipping makes the cost of the special edition the same as going to a store and buying the standard edition.
Done and done.
My Gamestop said that they would be doing a midnight release depending on the amount of preorders they get.
Looks like they might be doing a midnight release.
gamestop always does midnight on highprofile games i work there as sga and we doin it since the set date was going on and we got dominoes bringin pizza and we gonna crack open a copy to play after midnight on the tvs and also got mine preorder for both systems im really ready to go cant wait
I believe Capcom said $10 for each character. Oh their gonna make us pay and they will make a killing off dlc.
@25 The 5.0,
No. They didn't say that. There is still no official word at all on how much they'll cost, and in fact one could assume less than $10 for both because of how Svensson weasels his way out of answering whether or not they alone will make the CE a good value. Furthermore, the game has, what, 36 dudes already? Not counting any modes or extras at all in the game, characters only, that comes out to around $1.67 each. Obviously they were sorta required to give you a bunch of characters for $60 in the full game, and DLC ones will almost certainly be more expensive than that because they're aren't one big guaranteed purchase, but if you're expecting two characters to be $20... my mind is injured.
its not gonna be ten for dlc its gonna be around $3.99 or $5 and i knew this was gonna happen this game gonna sell like crazy and the new mk i can't fkin wait to finlly get my hands on mvc3 and mk the fightin games that i played when i was a kid are back baby
You know I got it reserved but I gotta see if they are doing a midnight release, if not im going across to street to play and trade and reserving asap today.
Our Gamestop "stopped" doing midnight releases on big games all the time because of robberies. But Play N' Trade is gangsta, they don't care if it gives them a leg up on Gamestop.
i always play with fightsticks at the arcades as a kid and always on pads now ima get some fightsticks one of them is gonna be the chun li fightstick from madcatz will this work on mvc3 or you need something like mvc2 stick cause ppl keep sayin yes any help will be nice ty
Too bad for those who hasn't ordered one yet. They must hurry. Luckily, I've secured a copy for myself and I'll get it on the release. Just three weeks left now, exactly that is.
ok ty ^_^ btw on ebay they sellin some custom mvc3 fightstick. man they sure are taken long makin those fightsticks for mvc3 lol
This same thing happened with the TE fightsticks in '09. May just be Capcom holding back to add hype like the nintendo did with the wii(as well as capcom and their madcatz sticks which are everywhere now). But if you remember the SFIV release, it will be shipped on the US release, date....not necessarily be there on street date. The ONLY place to have copies that tuesday was gamestop.....which bites cause Id rather spend money elsewhere.
Got mine at gamestop, paid for the SE copy back in December.
I made my preorder since November 22nd, 2010. Dang, no wonder this game is gonna sell well. The anticipation for it is insane.
go to Capcom.com and use this Promo code: THANKYOUTEN
get 10% off on Preorders.. ;) works for SE
yup it's a sales ploy. But anybody think due to it's extremely popular popularity and it's hyped up anticipation from the world, that there's a chance SE versions will be sold out and we're left with shortages temporarily. (like the xbox360 kinect, etc). Therefore skyrocketing it's price past face value. And if it's a limited release (like mvc2 copies at one point), it'll drive the price even further up. doubt this part though, since they want to push as many copies as possible and will produce however much it'll take. Predicting this game will break record sales that's fo sho
I already got it preordered, whew. haha. But I can definitely see it happening! This is one of those titles everybody just HAS to own
Wow that was fast. I checked amazon, and they sold out xbox 360 mvc3 special edition. At least I preordered the game earlier.
as a fightin fan i went hardcore haha i got the S.E mvc3 and C.E guidebook hardcover i didnt need it but it has some useful info and nice artwork plus its marvel vs capcom 3 ^_^
Wow, I just pre-ordered the SE at EBG like 2 days ago. Guess I got lucky.
@35 You can get it shipped UPS, but you have to pay $9+. The promo code gets you 10% off and free shipping if you choose USPS Economy.
You guys can say it's a sales ploy all you want, but the fact is that GameStop has stopped taking reserves on the special edition. I have friends that work at 2 of the GameStop's in my area, and they showed my the e-mail from corporate telling them not to take anymore pre-orders for the SE.
Moving like delicious hot muffins, I dare say.
