In case you missed them yesterday, you can see both of their intro movies here.
I love Hsien-ko's pose in this. Whoever the artist is that does these pics is one creative sob.
I hope you can still f.hp->rocket punch->hyper sentinel force->dash forward->repeat
While I don't mind Sentinel's inclusion, at least he brings a multitude if variety of playstyle as opposes to Elektra who would have probably been a straight close quarters, rushdown character. Bastion, Nimrod, or Mastermold, with similar moveset as Sentinel would have been absolutely perfect though. Sentinel rebranded. Omega Sentinel on the otherhand would be a different story.
So I guess Capcom just said "f*ck it" about next week's character reveal.
Not sure how I feel about something as slow as sweep (which is probably crouching C) connecting with launcher. Startup on Rocket punch and Sent Force look pretty slow, his mouth beam looks super fast though, totally spammable. Maybe the only nerfs he got was mobility speed,startup on some moves and no super armor. Looks like there is more emphasis on his plasma ball hyper this time around as opposed to sentinel force hyper. But we shall see in time.
Spencer/Sentinel/Amatarasu will be my first team. It's official.
Dude, if I don't see a Mango Sentinel/Nimrod alt soon...
@#13
lol u mad. Get your scrubby ass off this game then. He doesn't look broke.
Many marvel fans are pissed off because that's not even a sentinel from the comics and its just a generic robot instead of nimrod or bastion.
@kirbykirbykirby
He will probably have an alt that matches his 90s show look more than likely, but I have definitely never seen this Sent in the comics before, I'm sure he had to be there somewhere tho, right?
Everyone's hating on Sentinel because "he's not important to Marvel history." That may or may not be so, but I don't think anybody can deny that he's very important to MAHVEL history. I welcome his inclusion, as he looks fun and not broken.
Doom now has competition for that third spot on my primary team of Dormammu/Amaterasu/Doom or Sentinel.
@FroggyMan77
He is very important to MAHVEL history. With that being said, it is easy to understand what people mean. He wasn't in any of those other crossover games, he got shoehorned into MVC2 because they threw everybody in there sans balancing and he was overpowered to god tier. You would assume that if he was that important he would have been brought back to the roster in following games like XvsSF or MSHvsSF...I hate him, but I like giant robots so screw it, I just wish he still had the spinning leg blade thingy still, that move was an instant dizzy in CotA...maybe that's why he doesn't have it anymore lol
@SmokeRulz
That can't happen, the world would explode at the first moment the first word was spoken...we can't handle that much awesome.
@gammabolt17
Don't quote me on this but AFAIK this Sentinel design isn't from the comics, Capcom just designed it specifically for X-Men CotA. Personally, I always liked this Sentinel design better than the generic one from the early 90's comic/show, but that's just me.
I still don't see why people say he's broken or that Mag/Sent/Storm is going to be over used in tournaments. Guys this is MvC3 NOT MvC2 the game isn't even out yet and even still to those who have been playing the build; they say it's completely different. Wait till the game comes out, then grind your chosen 3 and then a week later we'll have an idea as to how the match ups, tier list, loops, possible infinites, *who has the best assist*, which character is "broken" and all that jazz. For now just chill out and wait till the 15th. And yeah they coulda put someone else in but, just because he's in doesn't mean the game is ruined. derp.
@26 Gameplan:
This Sentinel design is mostly from the "Here Comes Tomorrow" storyline as well as the actual Sentinel comics. He's in other stuff aside from X-Men >.<
@31
Well, I think it's more of the fact that Capcom has been NOTORIOUSLY bad at balancing their Vs. series games. The inclusion of a character that was crazy broken in the last game he was in is daunting with the aforementioned track record of Capcom. Hopefully, however, everything will go smoothly. I, for one, am trying to be optimistic.
Hsien-Ko's art is easily the best in the game. Very nice design.
People who assume anything about balance (like MSS going to be God tier) based on the previous installment are complete idiots who aren't using their brain. This is MvC3 not MvC2 part 2. This game was built from the ground up and wasn't like it is just another tweaked version of MvC2.

I always thought this Sentinel was better because it showcases how each part of the robot and how his attacks is used. If the orignal model of Sentinel was used, he would be a pretty boring character and could'nt do all the things you see this Sentenel can do.
Japanese is a master of robotic design so when they made XCOTA they probably felt that orignal Sentenel was'nt a logical and fun design and could'nt work with him so they made him into an ACTUAL robot. He is coming from a comic series that is old as dirt, and high tech concept art was not as deep as it is now.
So Sentinel,Strom,and Magneto are in this game
Dear Lord Everyone is Doomed -_-
@31 I've never heard of any game outside of Solitair being balanced perfectly. All games will be unbalanced and that should'nt be your complaint.
What you SHOULD worry about is if it will take Capcom 10 years to balance this game because thats what Capcom is really notorious for. No game is perfectly balanced and we all see how slow Capcom is when balancing SFIV series. Game came out in late 08 I think in Arcades.
@Wolfstone you gotta troll a little bit harder, I did'nt feel the energy from you.
The level with the Hsien mirror match isn't that a BlazBlue level?
@41 bananainsaneface
No that's most likely Thor's stage....Asgard or Valhalla.
I wish we could have gotten either Warmachine [Sentinel], Crazytrain, Ogre, Shrapnel, and Megaton as our Sentinel replacements. Here's hoping we see some awesome DLC in the months to come, and not just costumes that cost weird prices.
Oh lord. Team A.S.S.: Arthur, Sentinel, Storm.
And yes, the only reason why he was included in MvC3 had nothing to do to his popularity; it had to do with his god-tier status in MvC2.
If anything, a LOT more popular characters could have taken this generic character's spot instead. Heck, let's have Nimrod instead. Can't complain now that Capcom decided to make that decision.
Man Sentinal is weak..I guess the gave Justin Wong his wack @$$ dream team Magneto, Storm, & Sentinal since he's CAPCOM'S poster boy for MVC.

That has to hurt...
@Oroku_Saki
I'm not into comics, but according to Wikipedia the "Here Comes Tomorrow" storyline was published in 2004 and this Sentinel design, which is the same as the one in MvC2, first appeared in Capcom's X-Men CotA in 1994. If you have any reference of this Sentinel in a comic prior to 1994, I'd really like to see it.
It doesn't matter who they bring in at this point, the game is 5 times more balanced then mvc2. The top players online in mvc2, wont be so high this time around. It's going to be great.
@Gameplan
This version is the same as that one, it's the difference in height that's why he's listed as different. That Sentinel is essentially a modified and shrunk Sentinel Mk V.
@Oroku_Saki
Well, this particular Sentinel doesn't look like a shrunken Mark V, it's a different design. I know it's supposed to be based on the Mark V but it has enough discrepancies with it that it can be considered as a different design altogether.
All I'm saying is that AFAIK this PARTICULAR design didn't come from the comics and Capcom designed it in 1994 for Children of the Atom. Now, like I said, I'm not very comic savvy so feel free to prove me wrong. I'd really like to know for sure if this Sentinel (again, this particular design, not the Mark V) appeared in a comic prior to any Capcom game.
@Cortez
I didn't say that Sentinels were created in the 90's. See above.
@joker101 #52
And who mentioned anything about Cyclops? That was Capcom's disagreeable idea to make Cyclops a shoto-esque character!
And yes, Sentinel as a character itself is generic. Capcom decided to take the extra mile making Sentinel do things beyond what he can do and look what happened?
Sent looks like he's flinching as if he was gonna get hit.
Sentinel: "Ahh! Please daddy, don't hurt me!"
Bolivar Trask: I'll give you something to cry about!
