It says "Arthur" instead os "Sentinel" on the Health bar. what's THAT all about...
I think this is fake, Arthur is clipping through the sentinels leg. I've never seen that happen with any of the assists before. If it is real, then sadface because I didn't want Sentinel coming back to Mahvel, unless he was an unplayable boss character or something.

Being that Arthur is on screen at the same time (and is merging into Sentinel's leg), it would appear Sentinel is acting as an assist in the pic.
Meh, who cares. I HIGHLY doubt that they left Sentinel HALF as broken this time around, and the rest of the cast is great.
Can't wait to see more Mags Storm Sent online now, because anyone picking them thinking "HURR I'LL PICK DA BROKEN TEAM EASY VICTORY" is gonna get broke.
well first off the size is way to big...no one is that big in the roster and two, his body is going through Arthur's body, they would never allow that. i mean i know you can get on the other side of the screen, but i think its fake.

IF (note "IF") it were to be real, he may not neccessarily be played and have the same abilities that he had in MvC2.
I'm not that into MvC2, so what exactly made him so good in MvC2? Lots of infinities? Good pokes, zoning?
Either way, I've always hated the good ol' MSS combo, let's hope this game is more balanced and sincere apart from MvC2.

Why is sentinel merging with arhur? If you look at any mvc3 clip, assist characters are always in the background.
also, look at the combo count for sentinels ground assist, looks a bit small. theyre usually huge.

I don't care if he's in, I just hope he's balanced! I liked MvC2, it's awesome to play and even more awesome to watch but when you look at the massive character select screen and only about 2% of characters and viable you know something is wrong. Please Capcom, don't make the same mistake, give us a game that answers to longtime fans and beginners alike because NEWSFLASH: Some people actually like playing as more than 5 characters.
Calling BS on this since Arthur is clipping through Sentinel and you can conveniently not see Sentinel's name (not even make out a last letter like you can for MODOK at the bottom) Now I'm not saying Sentinel's not in, just this particular "scan" is.

For the record, Capcom never said the other shotos weren't in the same. He merely stated that there differences are not as pronounced in crossover games.

I just find it so funny that people are complaining about Storm, Mag and Sent being back. Capcom obviously took the time now to balance them out so it won't be just similar teams the entire time.

I don't mind Sentinel at all, i find it silly to argue that such characters are overpowered in a game of Marvel Vs Capcom! THAT is the reason why casuals play the game and unless you haven't noticed that's what this series is mostly about - casual fighting with overpowered characters which take the entire screen! It's part of its charm and also a deliberate approach from Capcom since the first X-MEN vs Street Fighter and Marvel Super Heroes so get used to it
I'll have to make an anti-Sentinel team if I am to defeat it. Anyone have any ideas?

It's real everyone, stop denying whats soon to be reality. There were a lot of you who said that the Akuma Leak was a fake and photoshop but yet he was announce so after the picture was shown. I really wanted another character besides Sentinel and Lei Lei but owell can't wait to pick up my collectors edition of the game at launch.
If this was shopped, then color me impressed, but this looks legit to me. It's pretty hard to fake clipping to that detail, and they got it right.
Nothing seems off to me. Arthur is in play, he called Senti to assist. The glare was just unfortunately, an excuse for deniers. The clipping happened because he's an assist, and he's a pretty big character, and Arthur is a tiny one.
The good thing is that neither Magnet nor Storm seam nowhere near as broken as in MvC2 so I doubt Sentinel will be any different. I'm pretty sure that someone else in the roster will be better than at least one of them.
Also thank you Niitsuma for making this game happen but, you're a damn liar, "No Jean Grey/Phoenix", "There will be no more Darkstalkers characters other than Morrigan & Felicia", "The are some characters that Marvel didn't let us use such as Juggernaut & Sentinel". Looks like Ono's troll virus is spreading the Capcom producers, I don't care as long as I get my MvC3!
Yay sent is back in hahaha now i can beat up on him and practice combos on him as well but yeah anyone saying this aint real is in serious denial hahaha the texture is just perfect for the game. Anyways I don't think that the magneto and storm and sentinel teams are gonna be that intense like they were in mvc2 I know they will be massively toned down so fear not everybody we can get revenge on those people now hahaha
@24 That Cena one isn't comparable in the slightest to this. For the simple fact that the person that photoshopped the Cena picture took an in game model of Cena from that new wrestling game that's coming out and added a bit of shadow to it. Simple enough right, but with Sentinel there's never been a 3d render of him done before so he would have nothing to edit to make a fake. The guy would have had to create a 3d render of Sentinel himself, and if he's capable of that he'd probably be putting his talents to use rather then trolling people online with them.
You already saw what happens when someone tries to re-skin a 3d model (Green Goblin) or edit a sprite to fit the MvC3 art style (Hsien-ko). They both came out horrible. In other words this is legit. This is the whole Akuma leak all over again, people swore it was fake, but what happened? Besides what does it matter anyway considering we already know Sentinel and Hsien-ko are in the game anyway?
Why is he even in this game? He's the least interesting and least relevant Marvel Character ever created. I'd rather have 10 more Shoto Clones than this dull insipid robot with no personality...
The only thing that makes me second guess this is that I remember reading in an interview somewhere that they had a huge problem balancing hitboxes. The example they gave was Hulk and Amaterasu and how hard it was because hulk is so big compared to her. And well....that Sentinel is reallllllly big.

The clipping proves that it is real! The Sentinel model is pretty large. It would be pretty weird if there wasn't any clipping. Also it would be pretty hard to shoop that anyway.

I think thats a is Hsien-ko. people think its not cause of how the name looks. But it makes sense for it to look that way since someone took a picture of a tv screen.

I doubt this is fake...the leaked list we saw a long time ago got most of the characters right anyway, so I wouldn't be surprised if I see mr fantastic, elektra, emma frost, juggernaught, franke west, and hsien ko. (supposed remaining characters in the leaked list)
I know Frank West has been disconfirmed a million times, but if Sentinel is true, then why should we believe in Capcom anymore?
Oh god no. Why intentionally add broken characters? I mean they could balance him since it's a new game, but really he'll most likely do insane chip, like storm. And it's not like he's an interesting character with a personality. That's by far the lamest addition to the game. Actually the only lame addition in my opinion, as long as Storm and Phoenix are balanced.
It's almost as if Capcom always has to take a few irrational decisions to make sure their games are not perfect.

I am always suspicious of scans, particularly bad ones. the only guaranteed way to hide a photoshop, even a good one, is by chopping a scanned image, if this were a standard chop of an uploaded photocapture there might be a resolution inconsistency, but thats not something you can see on a photo like this.

Well if it were real I'll be disappointed. Why have the same 3 characters in the game that made the 2nd so lame after awhile. If you use the big 3 the right way your unstoppable(and cheap) however I understand on capcoms part because they were the most popular but COME ON!!!! WTF?!!!! Everyone that's getting salty about sentinel is a fool. It's obvious that the team won't be as destructive because the environment has changed, you know they got nerfed. What made that team good isn't there anymore, so let's not start flaming just yet.
For god sakes, for the people talking about Arthur clipping through Sentinels leg, it would require the implementing of collision models in a freakin verses game. How would that make sense? It's been shown in multiple game play videos of character assists clipping through the current fighters and even on Vipers grab she disappears behind MODOK's head because of his size compared to her. The animation has strict rules and if it was made so nothing clipped it would just be a god damn ish storm.
Lupinko predicted this list and so far it's all true, his size compared to the rest of the characters is proportionally correct, he was huge in MvC and MvC2 and in every other game the original sprite had been included. Sentinel was a fan favorite and for people complaining about his inclusion now were hardly ever deep into the scene and you're freaking butthurt because phoenix wright or frank west aren't included in the game. The game already appeals enough to people who don't play the god damn game enough as it is. So get off of capcoms nuts and accept the roster for what it is you bunch of god damn babies.

@118 Like I said, many fans asked in the past if Sentinel was in the game, like I said its all business he is not going to tell you right off hand that he is in the game until its the right time to tell you, he is going to deny it no matter how many interviews asked him about Sentinel thats why there isn't even trailers of him yet cause its not time to reveal him. The game is close to launch so a couple of companys are going to have a final build and its bound to be leaked, it doesn't make him a liar its protecting his job.

In general press, if a company wants to keep certain information under wraps, they either refuse to comment or they explain why they cannot confirm/deny anything. What they don't do is lie. No company does that. Ed Boon isn't doing that for Mortal Kombat. Ono didn't even do it for SSF4. That is a quality completely exclusive to Niitsuma and the MvsC3 marketing.
Niitsuma could have said "we're still keeping quiet about the remaining roster," but instead he flat-out stated Sentinel wasn't in the game.

God, even the implementation of the character is f-ed up. Arthur clips through his leg, he's too fricking big, really Capcom, I think this thing eats up more RAM than the Human Torch ever could of. You should've just given most of his moveset to Ultron and been done with it. And I can't see Marvel themselves finding the use of a Sentinel being a very marketable character to them.

@FREE1UP Niitsuma already said that Demitri wouldn't be in. Most likely due to the Midnight Bliss attack and how it would eat up too much RAM what with all the characters needing an additional model for it to work. Besides, what's wrong with Hsien-ko? She's my favorite DS character.

Could be one hell of a fake, stuff like the glare is extremely convenient. But the model itself looks pretty good and actually having the Sentinel assist clip with an active Arthur is a good touch that most wouldn't bother with.

That made me laugh too damn hard, it is so true. Although, if I can brag for a moment, I play with Hulk a lot, so I have beaten the team a number of times, depending on my super meter. Spamming Gamma Crush on assists is godlike and will beat damn near anybody if you luck up on a double crush or two

But here's another clue that this magazine has a current scan, all of the names bleed into the yellow space of the energy bars. Look at this clip and really look at the energy bars, it's completely different. This is from the old build. The old build has the names spaced off more from black area

I would love that...however, that thing would own Sentinel in his sleep, just like people who are essentially humans own them on a daily basis. He shouldn't be able to take more than two bladed attacks from PTX unless he's one of the advanced sents like nimrod or somethin, then hell prolly just never die

this isnt as bad i thought it would be, with many people going with magneto storm and sentinel team, i can use my favorite characters and use them freely without anyone else also choosing them, and kick the mss team in the face with a variety of characters, while many people will stick to just 3.

Tourney players are not the only people who kept it alive. I've never played in a tourney in my life, nor have my friends, yet I can name a bunch of us who still play MVC2 to this day and have been since 1999. There is not enough tourney players to justify making the game for them, otherwise with that logic they would have been got that damn approval from Marvel a long while ago, because it has been in tourneys since its existence. If they made this game for tourneys and thats all, then it wouldnt be so casual friendly and also most likely be full of the cheap high tiered bastards that tourney players love to pick because as good as they are they still cant seem to play with anyone that deosnt have cheap tactics. I mean seriously, these guys are the best Marvel players in the world, play with chars that actually takes a lot of talent to win with.

Please give me solid proof no one outside of tourney players played this game. I mean, PROOF, because things don't come true just because you say it, even though you obviously believe so. Tourney players don't not justify the expenses to create such a game because they would not make that budget back, not just off of tourney players alone, grow a brain.
I think its fake, The glare in the pic just so happens to cover the names of Arthur's teammates and the clipping of sentinel's leg over Arthur is pretty bad not sure if Capcom wouldn't have better adjusted the spacing so these issues wouldn't happen. In the end if its true thats good, but I doubt that it is.

Seriously to those who don't plan on playing this game because of Sentinel's inclusion, play the damn game before you judge it. Considering that part of the making of this game was focus on balance I'd highly doubt if Sentinel was anywhere near as powerful in relation to the majority of the cast like in MvC2. Reserve your judgement on something till you've played it.

For one thing, having Arthur glitching through Sentinel's leg is NOT an "unheard of" occurrence in ANY game with 3D polygon models, and especially when a large one is colliding with another, such as what's happening in this image. Another thing is that Sentinel's looking proportionately "spot on", compared to Arthur. He WAS a large character in MVC2, and just because you haven't seen any other characters in MVC3 who're quite that big, it doesn't mean that he can't be included. For all we know, he's just "small enough" to NOT be considered a "giant character", like PTX-40A and Gold Lightan from TVC (-Because they DID officially say, at one point, that they did NOT want "giant characters" like in TVC to be included in MVC3.). A third tidbit to consider is that the colliding polygon sprites for Sentinel and Arther MIGHT just be something that WAS a minor problem at the time the photo/image was taken, and that they probably had not gotten around to ironing that out, just yet. For all we know, he's probably STILL not refined and polished, as I write this. Sure, it COULD be fake, but Lupinko's list has been pretty solid, so far, and pending official word on whether or not this Sentinel image was before his VERY RECENT supposed "disconfirmation" or after the fact, we'll just have to wait and see, February 15, won't we?
Put the speculation whores to rest, or ride the rumor bandwagon if any of you must, but dammit, we don't need more of the same, EVERY time a "leaked" picture of another character pre-reveal hits Eventhubs.
With "Cosmic Doom" revealed, maybe we'll have a "Mech-Oni" (Mech Gouki) or "Mech/Cosmic/Shadow/Shin/Satsui No Hadou/Whatever Wesker" for a second "sub boss", since both of those villains seem to be the two star villains in promo materials/posters, etc. I would LOVE to see another mash-up kind of character like they did "Mech Gouki" (aka "Cyber Akuma"), or something like "Zero Gouki" from "Cyberbots". hehe

Yes I get your logic...if it's clipping there, then its pretty hard to photoshop that in. I guess its legit. Yay sentinel is here! I loved his moves and how he was but that's it, I don't use him like the overused bums do. Besides some of the new players are great sentinel counters, like viewtiful Joe for example, he's a small target and sentinel is a big target for Joe to put his speedy moves on.

Capcom does it with all fighters mostly. Remember Dhalsim teleport? Glitch in SFIIWW, fan service. EVERY SINGLE SEQUEL INCLUDES POPULAR CHARACTERS. Dude, as much as the tourney scene has to do with it (which is a lot), making it for tourney people is stupid, because as much people as it is, it would not justify the money expended to make it, not just for a cult of people, hell no. If anything, I would give that "tourney scene" excuse to SFIIIOE before Marvel. It's freakin Marvel, it's for everybody. I know what you mean, but EVERYONE loved MVC2, if anything the fact they didnt have rights to make a marvel game had just as much to do with it than anything else.

much agreed, devilotte would be awesome haven't seen her since mvc1, it's funny b/c everyone talks about mvc2 and how classic it was and it is no doubt, but most of the pros havent even touched mvc1 or previous installments and only jumped in at mvc2, a true fan goes way back.

I love it when the waters ripple here. The tiniest picture will bring out the nerd rage in an instant. The picture looks suspect, but still that's a lot of detail presented in the Sentinel model to be fake. It still could be though. I'll believe the press release, but if this is true, between the SSF4 AE Password fiasco and this, Capcom has got some leaks in their ship that they have to fix in the near future.
As for Sentinel, I don't personally use or like the character, but do you guys really think he is going to be as dominant or as much as a clutch character as he was in MvC2. I don't know if you cats have been paying attention but even the pros and game producers have repeatedly stated that neither Storm or Magneto feel the same anymore. They have been tweaked and re-balanced in order to not be as dominant as they used to be. Yet you still don't listen, judging from all the fear mongering going on about Sentinel.
Does that mean that this game won't have top tier characters? Don't make me laugh - of course it will. But that will be only discovered after weeks of experimentation and many various tourneys down the road. Just like MvC2's tournament worthy roster whittled down to a handful of characters over the last few years, so will MvC3's. However, I suspect there will be more characters and match-ups worth a damn in part 3 than there ever was in part 2, and for two reasons -
- Updates!: We live in the internet age when it comes to gaming. MvC2 debut before broadband was in a lot of homes and consoles could handle major updates and DLC for games. We've already seen examples of this in fighting games like BlazBlue and we'll see it again when the DLC for SSF4 AE hits consoles. Even Niitsuma stated that it is very possible for there to be an Arcade Edition of MvC3, and if so, that means we'll eventually see it on consoles too - meaning more tweaks for MvC3 if more roster imbalance issues are found in the interim.
- Emphasis on Balancing: I know it's hard for the youngins' to remember, but jump when they announced MvC3, Niisuma, Killian and others at Capcom promised a conceited effort to make this game as balanced as they possibly could. In comparison, MvC2 was thrown together compared to the production and design of MvC3. With as many flaws as MvC2 had, it withstood the test of time, and if they were to produce a follow-up that had more effort, polish and thought put into it's creation, there is no telling how long that game could last.
Of course, there is a chance MvC3 could be overproduced & this approach of fine tuning everything could backfire. I doubt it, though, with as much work has gone into it.
For those fearing Sentinel (if the evidence is genuine), don't. I doubt the ol' boy is what he used to be. Here's hoping I won't be eating my words in a few weeks, but we'll see.

Tournament players have keep MvC2 alive. Who ever dosent see that are stupid. Tournament players have always keep these fighting games alive, casual player just put up the numbers, nothing more. MvC2 is what it is now because of tournament players. Sentinel is a service to tournament players but so is Magneto and Storm.

its fine to have top tier characters, what matters is whether or not they have bad matchups. Look at super sf4, the top tier all have bad matchups so it was fine because you'd see alot of healthy haracter representation, rather than a couple of characters with barely any variation at all.

Sentinel won't have hyper sentinel force comboing into itself this time around (at least I don't think), he won't have the fly/unfly glitch that helped him completely lock down the sky with little fear of being punished. His damage might still be big, but his size has always made him susceptible to "sentinel only" combos.
If Cable were announced tomorrow a 1000ft wave of nerdrage would crush eventhubs and only the few of us with brains would not be crying. We'd realise that AHVBx5 would NOT be returning, so Cable's deadliest feature would not be there anymore, so why cry?

All Capcom fighters stay alive long after they are created...people still LOVE the alpha series, but I see no Alpha series rebirth, people still love Darstalkers, to the people where they beg for DS4 (even the tourney players), but still nothing, because we (fighting gamers) are the only ones who would get it, duh. Tourneys don't make Capcom that much money, however, buying the damn games makes them a ton. Bottom line, it doesnt matter how much the tourney scene keeps it alive, if it don't make dollars, it don't make sense. Deadpool breaks the fourth wall, it is what he does, a better example would have been the blue and black Mag-freakin-Neto alt.

Sentinel is iconic of the old X-Men cartoon. I am psyched that he's in the game. He was fun (albeit super broken) in the second one, and with extra balancing, he should be an awesome inclusion.
Really, it's not that big of a deal that Sentinel is in MvC3, he's not going to be God tier like MvC2 most likely, you should see gameplay and test things out before crying OP.
The only thing I don't like about him (if this is even real) is his size, because that seems a little too big, also I would have preferred Bastion, but whatever.

I honestly think this is legit, it's a scan straight from a german magazine everythings placed right, no sloppy messes. I also think that Sentinel is beautiful, just look at him. I'm okay with him in this game.
I honestly can't really tell, the photographer did not do a good job taking it. But heres the thing, why the f^ck put this giant character, also hes not even a main character. Just a minion to the Xmen series, and we already have enough X men and street fighter characters, i thought Capcom promised us that there would be 3 x men and street fighter, but now we have 6 x men and 4 street fighters. Super Skrull made it since hes an advanced evil character, but sentinel is just a same robot just like the x men series. No highly advanced Sentinels greater than the other. And last of all, who would be his rival???

Well, Monday January 31 is the day we'll see the last 2 Character announcements.
Although the Sentinel picture is legit, he is STILL not confirmed. What if this was a beta build, and just like Frank West was scrapped, Sentinel could be scrapped as well because Marvel wanted to represent some other character. If that is true that would mean Sentinel could be DLC.

Damn. Are people really looking at the translation of a translation ad the word of God in the case of "Is Sentinel in or not?" I know it's a big shock, but specifics can be "lost in translation" in this case, especially when it comes to Niitsuma. He's been dancing around questions since the first press release broke for this game.

I think it will be more around 40 within first few weeks of launch. Shuma and Jill aren't on that select screen. So with 4 corner spots i would assume 2 more dlc announcements

I dont know if this is accurate but i remember it being said that his interview what translated through 2 languages so he could have been misunderstood also jean grey was said to not be in the game but if you follow comics you know pheonix and jean grey arent considered the same, it was said no more darkstalkers would be in the game but if you follow the series she and donovan are not darkstalkers they are darkhunters, he also said he considered donovan but decided against it. Did anyone ask themselves why donovan?? maybe because he would be a nemesis for the dark stalkers.

Came back after work to see Hsien-ko. Best MvC3 day ever until launch. My favorite Capcom fighting character along with my favorite Marvel character on the same team will make me very happy.

MvC3 happened because of the fans of MvC2. Most current fans of MvC2 are the hardcore players, obviously since the game has been out for 10 years. In addition, most (not all), but the majority of these hardcore players have come to enjoy Magneto, Storm, and Sentinel, including me. These 3 characters are for those fans who have been loyal to the game all this time, that is their justification... If its such an issue, just pick one of the 33 other characters available. Too many people are selfish regarding this game, they want only the characters they are interested in, don't care about anyone else.

I'm sorry, I don't see what you mean. People had fears of Akuma because of his similarities to Ryu. Turns out those fears might have been justified, as he appears to have made Ryu obsolete, thus "wasting" a spot in their eyes. I have no idea what you're getting at with Sent and Cyclops because neither of them play like anyone else. Also, I would gladly take Cyclops over Sent just because I enjoyed his moveset and attributes more. Others probably want Cyclops over Sent because they're afraid of seeing Sentinel online repeatedly.
Truth be told, I think this game is going to be far more balanced than the previous, which means Sent probably isn't godlike.the anti-tier people need to stop worrying, and the tier whores need to stop thinking their Santhrax nuthugging will carry over in any significant way..

Then you can make the argument that captain commando, psylock, cable, and cyclops should be in too. However, they aren't. The fact is, 75% (or more) of competitive / tournament teams included sentinel on the team, not strider. Magneto, Storm, and sentinel(maybe cable) were clearly the most popular in the existing competitive / tournament MvC2 teams. Again, sentinel is for those mvc2 fans, majority of the hardcore/tournament winner player teams contained a combination of either storm, sentinel, cable, magneto, cap comando, cyclops, psylock, and iron man. If you go by your justification, cable capt commando, psylock, and cyclops should be in over strider.

Look at ClockW0rk, he can destroy that team with just Stryder and Doom (which I know Stryder is not in "yet" hopefully.... but im sure he could still do it on this game because he has experience). i had hoped so badly that venom would be in, but now i will have to wait longer and pay for him as DLC, provided he comes as DLC at all. i'd think he would though, venom as DLC would make a lot of money for capcom. A. LOT. it makes sense, people say venom cant be in because of his morphing, but shuma's in. i think shuma's DLC because they needed more time to fix morphing problems and venom could have needed more time for the same reason.
i just think it's a joke that spider-man, marvel's flagship series, gets ONE rep and x-men gets 5, not counting deadpool. and it's not like they're all popular x-men, x-23 and sentinel made it. come on. that's ridiculous. i'm not saying they're bad characters, i just think it makes no sense that they're in. especially sentinel, a broken character with literally no personality that is mass produced and killed by the thousands. i just cant wait to see how they fit sentinel in the plot....

me, i use venom/shuma/magneto or sakura and i beat ass. i beat sentinel spammers like 25% of the time, which i think is pretty dang good.

Hsien-Ko would be an interesting addition I think. I would think of her as another keep-away style character that has some good ranged attacks. and oh that anvil, possibly act like Vipers ground pound. We will have to see.

The game is not even out yet, no one has even had a chance to play as Sentinel.
For all you know, he will handle completely differently, like how people are saying Magneto in MvC3 looks identical to his MvC2 version but plays significantly slower so it's not just endless rush rush rush and you can't mess with it at all.

People really don't understand how games work.
This doesn't even run on the same engine as MvC2, they're not copying and pasting anything. They have to remake his character from scratch. Storm and Magneto are already proven to be weaker than they previously was (Storm is still good but not broken, and not many people are bothering with Magneto).

Well that's that. I highly doubt they'd keep the roster at 36 + 2, especially with the shape of the final shape of the select screen leaving 4 slots in the corners. So I wonder who the other 2 DLC characters will be, if any.

As for infinites, im suprised everyone revolves around it, I would be more scared of characters like Dante, Pheonix, and other chracters for having infinites than the the big 3. Also patches, patches, and patches, it happened to Fei Long it will happen to them.
ok, I mean the character select screen is there, and every character associated with another seems strategically placed( e.g. avengers, x men, hulks, mega man, etc.)......jill is upper left to go with re characters, shuma upper right to go with marvel villians, so who would be associated with bottom left and bottom right?
is bottom left another possible darkstalker character seeing as how the SF characters are arranged is a 4 block L shape already, and is there another possible hulk character to be added? maybe a villain, doomsday?
The additional dlc could just break this "trend" and I would totally be alright with that
when capcom is done with this game in the next ten years it will be MARVEL VS DISNEY BAYBEE! with all the mahvel top tiers vs disney most iconic broken characters like mr.potato head,the negro woody,the mango goofy (personal favorite)and blue like candy Cinderella.

My only disappointment was more villains for the Capcom side, but oh well, will have to wait for DLC.

My most wishful New Characters was Apocalypse and Gill, but they are not going to be in. I was hoping Sentinel was replaced with Apocalypse, and was hoping Gill was in.
Classic characters I wanted in were Cyclops and Captain Commando, at least they may have a chance for DLC

@630: The only reason why Sentinel was so popular & highly requested is because of his top tier status in MvC 2. Other than that, he doesn't have any personality, or anything else going for him.
If he wasn't that great, then I doubt that most of the people that played as him would want him back at all.

@494- Picking characters based on performance and nothing else is stupid. The hardcore will buy the frikkin game no matter who makes the cut. My "justification" isn't just about pleasing them, it's also about marketability. Sentinel does not have that. Strider and those other characters you mentioned do. Factor in the need for balanced selections, and ideally, it would have to come to Magneto and Storm for Marvel, and Strider and Captain Commando for Capcom. How can anyone argue with that?

For those mad about Sentinel being in the game, stating he adds nothing to the world, you very little ground to base this on, considering that 1: we haven't even seen actual gameplay of him 2: we don't know how his story in relation to the other characters yet. When Capcom adds these characters in the game they try to appeal to would be fans of the game as well as the loyal fans, namely those of us still playing it after 10 years. Capcom, IMO, added lots of new characters with plenty of personality and adding a few characters in, namely Mag, Storm and Sent as a nod to MVC2 and fans of those characters is perfectly fine.
Someone above mentioned that adding Sent to the game wasn't a good marketing strategy, I'm sorry but I have to strongly disagree with that, he's a known character from MVC2 and his presence alone will aid in moving copies of the game, which is what marketing is ultimately meant to do.
@ #650 I understand where your coming from, but Ganando hasn't appeared in game as popular or extensively played as MVC2, you can mention Sentinel in the fighting game community and even non MVC2 players will most likely know who he is.
I think a lot of the complaining is stemming from a fear of Mag/Storm/Sent teams of the past and the looming threat of them dominating MVC3 but we don't know if these three will vibe like they once did, and this team took quite some time for people to evolve, not to mention these characters weren't the easiest to master in MVC2. I'd be more concerned about team gun club (Deadpool, Chris, and Dante) gun shot lock down all day, if you want proof check out some of Keits clutch comebacks with Deadpool on youtube.
No worries everyone, the game is gonna be great and were all gonna have a blast with it, yes some stuff will be considered "cheap" but half the fun is getting around the so called "cheap" tactics and evolving your gameplay. For a time everyone thought Cable was unstoppable but that proved to be incorrect. Lets actually learn the characters before we complain about them.
Personally, I won't take these images as real ones just yet. I've encountered fake magazines (fake CoroCoro scans of Pokémon(so it's very easy to create fake ones)) before so I must be a little sceptical. I'll just wait until the next intros.
I'm still thinking about some slots I see open. Once Jill and shuma fill in, it will fell kinda....empty, ya'know? Two more "open looking" slots.

@654- God, your opinion about this is unbelievably flawed. MvC3 is targeting a much wider segment of gamers than MvC2 ever did, mainly comic readers and fans of some of Capcom's biggest franchises from the last ten years. The number of copies that Sentinel will push will be insignificant. I know plenty of people that own MvC2 for the PS2 and Dreamcast, and when I told them who the top four were, they didn't believe me. They just continued to pick Ryu, Ken, Akuma, Gambit, Wolvie, Spidey and Venom because that's all they cared about. They already hated Sentinel. If they saw how broken he was, they'd just end up hating him even more.
People like these make up the mainstream. THE MAINSTREAM IS WHERE THE MONEY IS. MvC2 had plenty of characters that could serve as a nod to the hardcore. They could have easily picked one that also had a significant number of mainstream fans. How is that not a better strategy than adding Sentinel? DOING THAT FULFILLS BOTH ENDS. THERE'S NO EXCUSE NOT TO.
Because who honestly gives a rat's ass about the Sentinels anyway? If Sentinel players were REALLY a priority, why couldn't they just put Ultron in his place and give him Sentinel's moves? How hard could that have been? ULTRON IS A POPULAR MARVEL VILLAIN. They can swap out Blackheart for Dormammu, but they can't replace a giant, boring-ass robot with another robot that has a badass personality and design, AND a large fanbase? That's bullsh!t.
What you're telling me is like saying Balrog and Zangief should be given priority in the next SF game because they're top-tier in SSF4. Tier status should not be a factor in deciding characters for a game, especially when there are more likable characters to choose from and the roster is limited. Learn to think outside your little hardcore box for once.

Sentinel will aid in selling for the devoted MvC2 fans. Capcom does appreciate their fans (see Deadpool) and who better to please than the fans that kept their game alive for 10 years?
Sentinel might not be for everyone, but there is a fanbase for all of the characters in this game. I'm sure cutting Megaman from the roster hurt Capcom the most in sales, but they have their reasons for doing so. Just appreciate what Capcom is doing for the fans however bad you think their decisions are.
Kind of happy to see Sentinel back in a way so long as everyone else can hang (which I think they can at this point)and I don't even touch the guy. Not really a threat for me, just one bigass target. As for Hsien-Ko, finally a more viable Darkstalkers character. The Darkstalkers are trio-represented and on disc too. It would be absurd for me to say if I was disappointed in the final roster because I am not. I still have so many options and my favorites returned, even the newcomers look fun as hell (a.l.a Dormmammu and Super Skrull), and following this game since it's announcement back in April has been one hell of a ride. Let's keep the hype for just barely three weeks!
Lol rumor list for the win then! I don't mind any of the additions as long as the gameplay is a bit tighter than in MVC2 or TVSC. I expect it to be wild and feature loads of button mashing but i hope that it will also reward those looking for something more technical. I doubt i will be playing it as much as i have been playing SF IV/SSF IV (don't think i will ever get tired of it) but i would love to! Oh and Capcom personally i DO wish to see a constant flow of DLC for the coming 1-2 years for this game :-) just don't make it cost an arm and a leg and i would prefer it if you released a double/triple pack each time instead of us having to buy them 1 by 1.
I don't mind Sent. But we need Strider for some team Clockw0rk action!!! Make it happen Capcom. But if you look closely at the Character Select screen, each row seems to have some sort of pattern, which we can use to try and deduce the 2 remaining unknown DLC characters that will go in the bottom 2 corners.
Example: Top row has Resident Evil characters, and we know Jill will go in the top left corner. On the Marvel side, we have the games biggest villains in Doom and Dormammu, and Shuma will go in that corner. Bottom row for Capcom has 2 characters from old school 2D side scrollers, and Strider is also from a game like that. So there's a slight bit of hope. But on the Marvel side, there are two Hulk related characters surrounded by a lot of X-Men, which leads me to believe that Cyclops still has a chance at being a DLC character, since he's pretty iconic as the leader of the X-Men and he's been in many previous VS games.
Other Examples of row patterns: All Darkstalkers row, all DMC row, all Street Fighter row, all Avengers row.

I went to arcades all the time and you know what I cant speak for other locations but in my location. WE the 10 year fans kept marvel alive when nobody else wanted to play it because they were busy playing DDR or timecrisis we played mvc all day. We helped the game develop to what it is today. Dont take this as an elitist rant or a sent loving rant because its not. I hated sent for years you ever try to use rogue and ken to beat a good sent? Its really hard. Mainstream will make you a lot of money today but hardcore will keep you in business period. Because when mainstream gets bored of it their support goes and who is left hardcore. Sentinel is very popular in marvel hardcore marvel fans whats not to love about a robot that can adapt to almost any mutant after one fight and pass the info on to its peers. They are going to bring that sent to the game not the foot soldier sents you seen in cartoons.
@670- Oh for fVck sake man, did you read ANYTHING I said? Yes, I KNOW Sentinel will help sell the game to MvC2 fans. But just think for a second: Cable, Psylocke, Cyclops, Strider and Captain Commando were just as popular with the MvC2 scene as Sentinel was, even though they weren't as good. Do you seriously want to tell me that all those devoted players couldn't be satisfied with any of those five in Sentinel's place? Because last I checked, MSP didn't need him to become a prominent team at tournaments. Sure, you can please the ones who kept the game alive, but it doesn't mean you have to piss everyone else off while you're at it.
What I don't get is that Ryota said that Sentinel wouldn't be in the game because Marvel didn't want it to. And I think that's the right call too, because Sentinel isn't unique in anyway because it's a robot, being massproduced etc. I really hope it's fake. Not Hsien-Ko though, she looks cool.

man, corny Sentinel. there are plenty of really good marvel characters they could have used such as nightcrawler, black cat, blade, apocalypse, doctor octopus, ect. they're some pretty cool close range fighters except for apocalypse, even mickey mouse or sora from kingdoms heart would have been a better selection then sentinel. actually sora from kindoms heart would be a really good character for this game.
