Edge Online is the latest website to post an interview with Marvel vs. Capcom 3's producer, Ryota Niitsuma. This piece doesn't really hit on much new content, but there are a few small bits of information thrown in here and there about the character selection process.Did they give a reason for not wanting characters in the title?
It’s a difficult situation because I gather the selection priorities Marvel have are strongly correlated to their character strategy for the future so they want to push characters they’re going to push in the next few years. I don’t think Shuma-Gorath is in that so I don’t think we can expect 'Shuma-Gorath: The Movie' anytime soon. They have their priorities: they want popularity to be the main criteria for their choice while our one is proprietary for fighting games – Capcom loves odd characters and we see things in oddities, so Shuma-Gorath was a must, but perhaps they didn’t think so…

From a gameplay perspective, Shuma is total win. I would have rather had Psylocke, but no point mourning now.
We haven't seen anything of Shuma....
but the fact only super hardcore Marvel fans know who he is, or people who decided to google him when they were bored and were like "Wtf is Shuma-Gorath anyway" it's not going to draw anyone in, specially since his ass is DLC.... What a waste....Tis why I pre-ordered the game... to get him for "Free"

I don't really think they were referring to "The Community" when they mentioned wanting Shuma in. Actually I think Capcom takes into account what the community wants, but not as much as people think. If they did this would be Marvel vs. Capcom 2 w 3d graphics.

I don't think the community wanted a mvsc2 remake, the community wants a lot of different things and i think capcom did a great job of appealing to everyone's wants all at once with out making people mad. We got classic reps like haggar and arthur, and zero(I consider him to be kind of classic considering megaman x is a dead franchise atm) new characters like dante, c viper, wesker and chris. and they even tossed in 3 of the godly 4 which is awesome imo cause it draws the tournement players who are one of the big reasons we have this game.
if i had to choose i would love to see from marvel nightcrawler, apocalypse(not ultimate),charles xavier. capcom i would want samanosuke,tyrant-103,kyosuke those would be really cool to see
Please god let this game leak soon lol. I got my CE reserved but i cant wait for the 15th, i need a lil head start like the rest of those lucky folk who got to play at one of those fight clubs.
