Sumoslamman has launched a new series of articles on Marvel.com pitting one Capcom character against a Marvel character while offering a little background on both combatants.Hulk's Play Style: The Hulk is all about quick and dirty combos that put the hurt on his enemies. Hulk’s normal moves have great range and do some seriously savage damage at the cost of speed. The emerald warrior’s aerial movement is limited without an air dash, but his aerial combos bring pain, and in the right circumstances you can OTG (off the ground) into his Gamma Tsunami hyper once you’ve slammed your enemy back to earth. Hulk is here to prove he’s the strongest there is.
Haggar's Play Style: Like Hulk, Haggar is all about the big damage, but he’s faster than Banner’s alter ego and his fighting style’s a little more refined. Haggar needs to get in close to do damage, but once he’s in, he’s not leaving ‘til you’re hurting. He can mix solid normal attacks with some nasty unblockable command grabs that will have your opponents heading for the hills. Also? Haggar’s piledrivers shatter psyches. Believe it!
I see... this isn't going to end well for Haggar.

Eh I think if you want to be factual almost every Marvel character will win. Unless its Amaterasu, because Amaterasu is the best character in and out of this game. I love Amaterasu.

And Dante would actually destroy everyone in the marvel cast, if you want to speak from facts. Amaterasu and Dante both seem powerful in game as-well, this is a comparison as in game as well as facts.
(Depends if Hulk is smashing up Metro City or not, IMO. They'd probably have a friendly wrestling match TBH, lol...)

we all know at this point that Hsein-Ko is in the game (Thank god, shes great) but that image looks reaaallly face. Looks like a very slightly modified magneto to me.
Whoah, anybody listen to the music in the video below Hulk's description? I figure that's a way early video, so maybe it's the level's music before they began having just the characters' themes play. I'd like an option to toggle between stage music and themes.

Fanboy response: Dante and Ammy would have a helluva time beating the likes of folks who have destroyed so many planetary, galactic, and cosmic threats that it's literally their day job.
Normal response: It all depends on who the writer of the scenario roots for. These are fictional characters after all. Characters can't have a story without a story teller, and they are at the mercy of those storytellers' fancies (all the dante x nero fanfic out there is proof of this). But if we're assuming they're real, see my fanboy response.

Have you ever played DMC games? Dante can be stabbed over and over, and not die. He can kill god-like demons in a single slash, he is portrayed as insanely fast and more inhuman then any Marvel character I know of when it comes to reflexes and speed.
So meh, I think Dante would have a good chance of slaughtering all of them. :)

I dont know about that, considering that, and i'll refrain from explaining why each and every marvel charecter would win, at the very least wolverine and the incredible hulk are both nigh invincible. And on top of being invincible, it has also been shown that the incredible hulk is immortal. Dante would have his hands full.

Wolverine survived an atom bomb. A direct hit, no less.
Wolverine is also currently fighting his way out of hell, if I'm not mistaken. And doing a damn good job of it.
These are just two of many good examples of how powerful he is.
Wolverine Vs. Dante would be an impossible fight to call.

If anybody's still reading, one of my primary aims when I pitched this thing was to get the OFFICIAL character move lists from Capcom. My boss is very tight with the development crew and their digital/pr people and I was hoping to be able to break those suckers first for the Marvel crew. Unfortunately, and as I predicted, I don't think that will happen. On the other hand, these are fun and my writing is getting more exposure so I'm pretty pumped :)

Deadpool(the person dante was originally revealed fighting) has been chopped up, shot to pieces and locked in a vault for 800 years at one time(cable and xforce cross over) over his life time, dante stands no chance. Hell taskmaster CAN'T copy deadpool , and you think the white haired half demon metro sexual tthats got a lot in common with inuyasha can take him?

Realistically, given what characters from both the worlds ARE and CAN DO. I'd say only Amaterasu, Dante, Morrigan, Felicia, and Hsien-ko has a chance against the Marvel roster. The rest would just be cannon fodder.
Arthur has hearts on his boxers. Only the Mayor of Metro City can match that manliness. Also, Viewtiful Joe is being discounted too much. He has an uppercut that's a headbutt! That's gdlk!)

Yes, I think Dante would destroy the majority of the Marvel cast. Not ALL of them, most of them. Definitely Deadpool. At first I was talking about the battle in the game, where I feel both are better then the majority of the cast, but now that we are talking out of the game I still think Dante is incredibly powerful, even in the Marvel universe. Phoenix? No. Dormammu, from the little I know about him probably not. But beyond those few? I honestly think Dante would beat them.
Not saying I am in love with Dante and I am a huge fanboy, even though I did like DMC3. I am just saying I feel like he is ridiculously strong and could take on some of the Marvel cast, while other Capcom characters wouldnt be able to.

Roar. Ironman can fly and has technology so advanced that he makes windows 7 look like dos , has been know to fight full fledged gods and has the sex drive of 20 men (he has openly been said to sleep with half of the women in marvel including she hulk in her she hulk form ) you think Dante, a half demon, would beat him?
Maybe before extremis(a bio weapons system that has configured itself into an organic verison of the ironman system that can fly away from a terrorist bombing in 10 feet of him inglufing him in flame unharmed) But after? No
X23 would slaughter him, she's a weapon made for killing, and her healing is better than wolverines(its his metal bones that slow it down) and would not be distracted by dante like dante would be by her.
Task master would copy dantes moves(as long as they're not magical or supernatural in nature task master can copy it from dantes swordsman ship to his lacky surfboard) to the twitch of dantes wrist
Spiderman has spidey sense and can dodge bullets better than neo and bayonetta. As well as basically dante level speed and aglity,

No, I mean task masters body can't PHYSICALLY KEEP UP with Dante. You are the most hard headed fanboy I have ever seen...I am done with this argument.
To be honest, a small (if not tiny) handful can stand toe to toe with some of the Marvel characters. Dante; half-human, half-demon. He has the best of both worlds. After all he did (with Trishs' assistance) destroy Mundus. Swordmanship & marksmanship beyond human capabilities. Ammaterasu; a sun goddess in wolf form. I don't really need to go further on that. Morrigan; a succubus that can be deadly. Again, no need to elaborate since she's a supernatural being. Wesker; his power comes from a virus. He has superhuman strenght, speed, extensive martial arts training & an excellent strategist. Plus, he can manipulate others to do his bidding. Not a fanboy, I'm being realistic.
Now the rest (Ryu, Chun, Arthur) oh yeah, they'll get owned. In the end...its a video game. Let your imaginations run wild. Oh, I like both DC & Marvel. They both have compeling characters. As they say "why compare apples & oranges when you can have both".

Maybe there is a story to this, perhaps the combination of the two worlds Marvel and Capcom forces the characters to stand toe to toe with one another. Some sort of dimensional rift or effect that makes certain super heroes and villians more or less powerful. I mean it's a video game, you can play with logic all you want but that does'nt mean it's gonna stop me from putting a cap in Pheonix every time she ressurrects. Let the pwnage begin.

Thanks to Sumoslamman for the first in what is hopefully a bunch of articles. There are some people out there who have no idea who relatively obscure characters like Haggar are so a back story for the fighters is a big help.
I have to agree with some though the power balance between Marvel and Capcom needs to tip a lot. And for that to happen we need some REAL super villains. I'm talking the real Capcom heavy hitters like SIGMA and BISON. That would tip the scales for sure. Bison is a real classic with the ambition of Doom and the power of Magneto. And who wouldn't want to see Sigma vs. Apocalypse as DLC

I want Magneto/Storm/Sentinel teams to feel almost POWERLESS compared to MVC2, cause c'mon, that sh!t almost ruined that game (although I loved playing Mags in XvSF).
