EuroGamer posted the full interview with Ryota Niitsuma. This covers topics like character balance, the net code and rejected roster members for Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Eurogamer: The game is out soon, so you must be finished balancing the characters. Which character proved to be the most challenging to balance? Any regrets?
Ryota Niitsuma: The most difficult character to balance and tune was Arthur. Arthur's original appearance in Ghost n' Goblins had so many perks that made the game what it was. The way he jumps, the way he moves, those had to be retained. But in order to fit all of those elements into a fighting game that works with other characters, there was a lot of work involved.
In terms of regrets? There are no regrets at all. Everything I wanted to do has been realized in this game. The only thing I could wish for is more time. Games like this – it's applicable to all fighting games – the more time you spend on testing and balancing the better the game becomes. There's pretty much no end to it. In an ideal world a fighting game is in production forever because it needs to be tested forever.
But it has got to a very good point already and I'm all in all very happy with the product.
Also, there's another interview with Niitsuma in Spanish up on FantasyMundo.com (Google Translate link).
Tip from Nemuu.
Unfortunately, Duke Nukem forever is not a fighting game, otherwise it would be the most balanced fighter ever xD.
I think he also looks like the hardest to master. I bet he'll be one of the best assist characters, because of his 100% keep-away game.
#7 Hmph.
Anyways I hope balancing is more often than SSFIV. One of the things I got tired wth SF4 was this whole emphasis on Updating and DLC, they put in place the ability to do so but rather make small changes they do these huge updates then don't utilize the features that are there to improve on the game. This is the same problem I have with Soul Calibur and Tekken. Why create the ability to update a game then don't do it so you can release another 30 dollar update and some costume packs that you may not need? You know what im saying?
(You heard it here folks, Arthur is Maximo tier!)
Now that he mentions Chris/Punisher... they should have done crossover color palettes. Like Chris being Punisher and Nick Fury or Magneto being M. Bison.
No idea why they're not accepting my "news tip," but here it is for the masses:

It's an art gallery of cross-dressing and sex-changed Street Fighters :-D
Not that I am against them having more time with the game, but wasn't Capcom the one who decided to release the game early?
Here's what im thinking,if arthur "was not" balanced out, being the type of character that he is,a projectile type, then he might have been a broken character like Red Arremer from SvC Chaos Snk vs Capcom.
"Ryota Niitsuma: For beginners, they would have to be non-technical. So, Dante, Super Skrull and Mega Man Zero."
HE'S NOT F*CKING MEGAMAN, He's just Zero! God, I swear they're just trying to piss me off!
"Oh, Megaman isn't in, so let's just call Zero 'Megaman Zero' for now."
WHATEVER! He was never "Megaman Zero", they just can't market a game just called "Zero", can they? Of course not, they needed to have "Megaman" in the title. Even after in ZX, the title "Megaman" was so loosely used that it lost it's meaning. (Anyone who could use Biometal was considered a "Megaman")
Niitsuma, I hate you.
@8
God I hope Capcom doesn't listen to people like you. Remember when Ice man was godlike in mvc2? Guess what, the game EVOLVED. If you are constantly tweaking and changing things before you even knows whats what, it will just mess the game up. If something is CLEARLY broken, then MAYBE you should patch it up. MAYBEEE!!!!!
I love Mega man Zero!! glad he made it in the game, he was awesome in tvc MegaMan Zero ftw!!!
really?? people still cry because "no megaman" get over it, I mean we have mega man zero! lol honestly im glad megaman isn't in....he sucked,he was annoying, didn't digg him at all.
^ Last time I checked, his name was just Zero, he's just a part of the Megaman franchise.
So, should we call Sigma "Megaman Sigma", or Bass "Megaman Bass"? No, only Megaman is Megaman. Let's not forget Dr.Wily made Zero. Did Dr.Wily make Megaman? No, Dr.Light did. Dr.Wily made Robot Masters, Bass was his 2nd best creation, Zero was his masterpiece. Zero's name is JUST Zero.
Ah capcom, you always have to get the characters EXACTLY the way in their games, Making arthur exactly from his games and making him a Keep-away was brillaint.
Arthur looks like its gonna take a while to get used to him
megaman bass and megaman sigma are awesome!! but megaman zero was the obvious choice.

Oh yeah, sure, let's take all the effort we could for Arthur and give Dante over 40 special moves.
But coming up with stuff for an actual Megaman (Zero can suck it, he's not a Megaman and never will be)? Pssht, naaaaaah.
That would be something called a "good idea". And Capcom seems to run off of doing the opposite of that.
I'm not saying "ZOMG NUT BAYING GAEM NO MO!" I'm still going to get this. I'm just saying that the reasoning behind it is pure bull.
My main.
