Ryota Niitsuma hyped up Marvel vs. Capcom 3's net code in a piece with EuroGamer today, claiming the title has "speed of light" infrastructure for online play.
"It's the speed of light, and maybe a little bit of influence from infrastructure depending on where you are. So, if you're playing from Japan against someone in Sweden there will be some lag due to the distance. But it's all quite satisfactory."
Niitsuma quickly went on to add that there are more online modes to be announced for the game as well, along with a way to quickly select the teams you like to use over and over again.
i grew up single player so online is best thing ever in the world to connect
I'd like to meet the guy who can play 500 matches a day and not have his eyes fall out.
I really think people are COMPLETELY misinterpreting his comments. He's saying the quality of netplay is completely dependant on the infrastructure and geographical location (i.e the speed of light comment).
#9 Yeah im not gonna hold my breath on that comment. We'll see when we get it :P
@12 you'd be suprised, you'd be suprised.
@13 in other words your saying if you have good internet and they have good internet you would get "speed of light" results. Also depending on the internet company and amount of bandwith they give you and your opponent.
Still I tink the comment is a bit too good to be true. Like I said before, i'll believe it when I see it. If we are lucky maybe it will be the GGPO of 3D fighters.
I'm a bit confused in regards to why Niitsuma is beating around the bush with the "repeatability" thing, when it's already been talked about in detail about how that will work.
@7 I have to agree 100 percent with that
Yer it sounds really bad. He's already trying to make excuses like MvC3 is more faster and has more data to transfer than ssf4. WHich imo, is him just saying it's gonna be worse than SSF4 but for a good reason. Which imo, is no good reason.
