Lol Stranger's Wrath was a new game when this aired. I am amused.
Ah Icons, a show from when G4 was good. That's right, G4 was good at one point! Documentaries, gaming competitions, Judgement Day (a better version of X-Play), then something happened and it all just went to hell :(
Surprised that there was no mention of any of the crossover games between Capcom and Marvel. Maybe Marvel wouldn't allow their characters on the show? Overall, this was still pretty enjoyable, although I would've loved more than a passing mention of SF3.
Oh man, Karate Champ is hard to play on an emulator with an xbox 360 controller, and I love Yie Ar Kung Fu. Dan got an honorable mention, but he lost to Ryu, or in the context of this documentary "Ru".
@#21
Yeah, Chun Li instead of Cammy....I was like "WTF?"
Aw man this was like back in 2003/2004
G4 ain't even like this anymore it's like a
wannabe spike TV and Tru Tv.
Fighting games are great, glad i got into them, I love tekken, street fighter, Dead or alive is awesome too, and Marvel vs capcom. Some of these games made in the90s are still produced and i mean fighting games will get better with Marvel vs capcom 3 which will revolutionize Cross platformer fighters. Long Live fighting games, best genre ever. Then FPS.
remember that show one of the only reasons back when g4 was good was a reason to comeback it wasnt the finite version of fighting history but good in a twenty minute time frame they gave insight and credit to the one that deserved praise for actually making changes and not sf this and sf that but how they gonna say sf3 didnt take in northern america
(I know there's alot of G4 hate but imma ignore it for now. Icons was great. X-Play, the G4.com material(They covering fighting game tourneys!), and convention coverage are still great. I can't speak for what's happened to the rest.)
G4 use to be THE bomb, before just bombing. The time when they had Cheat with Corey Rouse, Judgement Day and Electric Playground with Lucas and Tollerico, Blister, Icons, Cinametic, and, dare I say it, Portal (the MMORPG Soap Opera) were the best shows evar. Even Code Monkeys and X-Play during their first times were good. But now, it's lost all Oomph.
this Zit si poooooooor come on u need a Lor trilogy lenght to talk about the history of fighting games.... i hope game trailers make a fighting games retrospective soon
Ed Boon and John Tobias
there last names backward= noob Saibot...the greatest MK Ninja!!!!!!!
I love that commerical at the end
The reason cheat died is there's no longer cheat codes in a lot of video games
Reason portal died no one watched it and it was mind numbingly dumb.
Reason cinematech died no one watched that either because all it was parts of cutscenes some for games only a few hardcore pc players had ever heard of or the game was so widely know and played people knew the cutscenes.
Now with that said judgment day might have died for various reasons, both host have other jobs and might have issues in their lives
The only 2 shows I can think of that g4 canceled just to cancel were Sweat, the sports games show and ARENA! the semi pro competive gaming show
To be honest the only shows I miss are arena and cinematech
my cup of tea
