GameStop updated some of the details for the BradyGames Marvel vs. Capcom 3 strategy guide, including letting potential buyers know that it would contain frame data.• Character specific strategies and team battle tactics designed with the beginner, intermediate, and advanced player in mind.
• Devastating Combination Attacks for every character in the cast, as well as throw set ups and range strategies.
• Character sections show official art, bios, and stats.
• Achievements and Trophies guide describes all achievements and trophies in the game and how to complete them.
• Written by the same tournament Pros that brought you BradyGames' Street Fighter and Soul Calibur Guides!
Frame data in strategy guides has been a bit of hit or miss affair as of late, with some inaccurate information being printed, but assuming this data is accurate, it might end up being a must buy guide for a lot of players.
to Ex_Ein: I always buy stuff on Amazon and they never let me down. The only thing I'm wondering is if they'll make good on their word by delivering the guide on the supposed date.
to Mr_Clack: At least if I do get the guide at Gamestop, I'd get at about 10 or 20% off the regular price.
Destiny that's you, not the whole customer base, anyway it's much to convenient for me to go to a retailer for half the s*** most people would buy off Amazon seriously I got 2 game stops in walking distance in 2 blocks of each other in fact and a Borders.
I love Borders because it's my favorite place to go for books next to Barnes and Noble.
They possibly will but at this point, we'll find out who else is joining the fight judging by what we have heard.
I just like reading the guides. And yeah there will be errors but nobody's perfect.
Plus, the guide is a great resource!
352 pages! The fact that it'll have all the frame data (and I'm assuming damage numbers for specials and hypers) makes this REALLY tempting to buy. I'll consider it since it comes out before the game. It might be able to hold me till release
I dunno I'll take the Prima SSF4 guide over the SC4 guide from Brady ANYDAY. The SC4 guide was probably the most useless thing I ever bought. 90% of it was just the movelist reprinted (minus all the JFs and secret stuff) and then VERY VERY bad write ups on character strategy. Even the printed combos were lack luster and better options were found within 5 minutes of toying around.
So Brady games...don't f*ck up! Get the frame data right and give good info on the special move properties! Do NOT pull and SC4 guide with this game!
But, the thing is that if there is a patch or something released down the line, a lot of the frame data might be invalidated.
I'll think about it. But, it might just be best to troll the internet for info...
Guides are for beguinners and I highly support it as a way to hold their hands. If you need the guide by all means buy it.
Just remember when you need to step your game up the guide can only cover so much, eventually you'll need to lurk these community sites for more in depth information.
I bought a guide for Soul Calibur 4 and it was really good. had plenty of information, easy and hard combos. After I got the hang of it I started searching for more stuff online.
As far as frame data go, don't worry so much about that until you get the hang of the game. Ain't gonna come out pro in a week, I promis.
Everyone starts somewhere ignore the elitist.
I'm usually against buying stratagy guides, simply because you can usually get all the info they give for free on the internet anyway. But this feels more like paying for a head start since, although the info will be there eventually, it'll take a little while to appear in threads, especially frame data.
I'll buy it.
Only $12 on Amazon. For a good set of strategies a week before the game comes out its at least worth it to me.
i just got it for the art haha XD plus ITS MARVEL VS CAPCOM 3 THIS GAME YOU WONT SEE FOR A OTHER 10years from now i mean look how long it took for part 3
Everyone from Sentinel to Hsien Ko!!
