Love the idea of battling random people that you walk past in public, but I feel like that might work better in Japan since its a much smaller country thats more densely populated. I think the odds of me running into some random person who actually has a 3DS and SSFIV3D is kinda slim @_@
For people so obsessed that they feel the need to play single player on the train...
This is such gimmicky nonsense but it looks kinda neat. I wouldnt want to play SF on a DS pad and buttons though.
Now where is the real deal PC version already?
Stop wasting development time on 3DS.
PC FTW.
@MALDA
Continuum Shift II begs to differ.
But these are both just our own opinions.
It looks great for a portable, and the over-the-shoulder camera must be spectacular in 3D.
However, and as much as I love SSF4 and 3DS and the idea of both combined, there are some issues that totally kill this game for hardcore players, IMO:
- 3DS' button layout is even worse than regular PS3/360 pad
- Will be outdated right at launch, with AE coming soon
- Online community not nearly as large as consoles'
Though from a casual SF player this game is downright awesome.
You know, the point of these portable fighters aren't to be competitive games, but just to be able to play them on the go and perhaps gain things like matchup information and other experience you can use in the console game. The point is to have FUN.
@MALDA
BB's community, both in Japan and in the West, is larger than you think.
@froggyman77
dude street fighter is the best fighting of all time and no cares about BB its only for emo goth fags and street fighter are for real men
ill definitely pick it up. i used to game all the time with a pad playing street fighter and still do in tvc and mvc2 so it wont be so bad.
Agree with 17, most like stick or even fightpad is better than a default pad layout for fighters.
SF on the 3DlolS is silly.
@MALDA
Well of course it's not as large. It's only been around for two years. All of those other ones you mentioned have longevity on their side. But in those two years, BB's community has grown remarkably fast. Certainly faster than you currently believe.
Just because you don't like BB doesn't mean that "no one plays BB."
@KenMasters87
Cool story, bro.
P.S.
DOA has a community? Filled with what? People who like to oogle at the girls?
33 - Thanks but PC is a platform I want to play it on and arcade is a PC so little work to port it over, I still have hope for AE PC FTW.
Why is the background completely frozen in place? Don't tell me 3DS isn't powerful enough! All we need is just simple motions like in SSF4. Even all the people are standing still, like it's a screenshot from SSF4
@CVS
Truth. My Tempe friends and I just started playing DoA 4 again. And we rotate between Tekken, SF4, GG and BB.
Cart sharing, think it was done better on GBA if they only gonna let you use just ryu, hope that was just an example.
As others have mention about the non moving background, im sure they are just demoing what they have done so far. If the 3DS is already running into limitations even before coming out then something is wrong.
My only real beef with it is not actually a 3DS issue, the simple fact of the auto battling while walking around or whatever. Maybe thats aimed towards folks in middle/high school or something and even then people get robbed during school back when i was that age >_<. Dont see how that gimmick is gonna fair in america where folks tend to be inside most of the day whether at work/school or home.
@MALDA
Guilty Gear is a great game, although I find it ironic that while one of the reasons you hate BB is because of the off-the-wall character design, you like GG, that has similar design. Hypocritical, much?
@Sektah84
MALDA never knows what he's talking about.
(Lol..." Game Sharing – Play a game with a friend using the ever-popular Ryu, even when they don’t have a cartridge!")
You can really feel Ono's passion about this. I play SFA3 on the way to the arcade on my PSP sometimes just for practice, and it will be -SO- nice to have the actual game ready to play before I hit the cabinet.
That's really what the best part about this is!! You can practice on the way to the arcade, right before a tournament, you can test out things you just thought of in an arcade... it really will become a great tool for the community. Can't wait for it, honestly.
If they were going to include static versions of the SSF4 stages from the console port to the 3DS, they might as well have created new sets of maps with no background characters or atleast select tradition stages with little to no interaction, like one with the Gouken & Akuma statue.
Street fighter will never come to a PC again, its to easy to Pirate... sf4 vanilla was one of the most pirated games on PC when it was released.
Also BB and GG are awesome fighters, not every 2d fighter has to stick to the SF mould, even tho i love SSF4 its defo one of the worst fighting games around, input shortcuts easy mode combos, and get out of jail free cards with Ultras. I for one cannot wait till MVC3 comes out and all the people who jumped on the fighting game bandwagon when SF4 came out are gonna sh!t them selves when they get absolutely destroyed and cant do anything about it... alot of SF scrubs are gonna get very salty!
Wow gameplay looks solid, and all this for 3ds? cool
Didn't think it'd be able to handle sf4, i know my laptop couldn't handle sf4 vanilla.
