I'm surprised to see Gouken is still so low on the rankings, considering he got a considerable amount of buffs. Glad to see Fei-Long dominating though :-D
Interesting to look at all the mains switched
Well good to see that my characters are even better with virtually no nerfs. Glad I stuck with Guy, Cody & Makoto. Heck if Bison wasn't so freaking good in SSF4 I would've still played him but it got too easy honestly. st. RH rules because scrubs don't block and love trampoline tactics meaning bam, anti airs for days.
I'm amazed Guy is above Chun-Li and E. Honda on the "top 3 overall" rankings O_O
Talk about a nerfing!
dam japan weres usa lol bet those japan players never had a girl in bed well maybe one lol XD and am shocked too guy is above chun li dam
Hi,
You can't use "Boxer" in one chart, and then "Balrog" in another.
Thanks :)
@8 Dude... Only Balrog is the real boxer. Dudley is a fail.
@#5 nobleeskimo
the amount of buffs doesnt matter when they dont really address the problems that character have. Thawk, Gen, hakan, deejay got considerable amount of buffs and i think Hakan gotten the most. Yet they all still pretty low on every chart and Hakan is still at the bottom 2.
@#12 Shonuff
lol? Chun li is still ranked higher than guy on the recent overall chart B+, compared to guys B-. What you mean she isnt looking to hot.
@#19
Guess someone had to chime in about people getting laid or not. Lol honestly how or why does it matter, apparently they dont get stressed out about it like Americans do.
@#18 top 3 is too small of a sample size, better to go off overall. Seeing mago Fei long exceptionally high (1)with the next fei long(19) just shows there is a skill/time gap.
@me :cont
Makoto was also given considerable buffs, but in proper areas and she skyrocketed near the top. Makoto and Yun 3s babies looking mighty solid on the overall raking taking top 2 spots.
@#26 snakeX
True isnt an tier list but is a very good indicator how well characters are preforming over a given time.
@#28
They do lose points, but if they lose to some random with a much lower score its not gonna take out a catastrophic amount.

Shiit, this Ken has 66000BP!! What's happening?!
this is very very outdated. daigo is 2 now with > 55k BP...
check out versuscity.net
again, daigo and mago says USA is free and how much they love the free airtickets and free fight money.lol
Whoa, Shiro Itachi started playing SF4... Here's hoping that Kuroda and RX would try it as well(yeah, I know it'll never happen <.<)
Not sure you can read too much into this list as an indication of character strength; these are the best of the best players and they're going to hone whoever they pick into a force to be reckoned with. It might be a better indicator of who the most popular characters are, if the game is as balanced as people are thinking. Arcade users migrating from vanilla arcade version are probably picking up Sagat again which is why we see him well repped in this list, for example.
Seeing that Makoto appears to be at least high tier now, it would be cool to see some footage of the new Mak in action.
Good(clapping hands...round of applause)....this goes out to the ryu player who stated that he/she is quitting...lol.
Fei God Long Tier
Then the shotos with their invincible uppercut frames.
-Im not worried about Yun.
the next level is Master Baiter...ahem! 'cause they're good at baiting the opponent to their ultimate destruction...
"679"
Being an ST man I prefer zoning type characters, but this game has become like 3s, where fireballs are irrelevant, and pokes are the only viable options as far as spacing.
I've always liked yang, played him in 3s so it should be a good switch for me.
Just a couple things:
1. This is a list of 50 best PLAYERS, not CHARACTERS!!!! Stop looking at this like it's a tier list!
2. This is also a JAPAN list. We all know that once this hits the rest of the world, we're gonna find all the loop-holes, the cheapest and lamest and abusable tactics possible and then the whole tier list is gonna get a face-lift every 3 months...(no offence to Jap players, but we think OUTSIDE THE BOX! Face facts...We are the ones who break the game and find the best way to win with the least amount of effort and skill.)
3. Two Ryus, one Balrog and Dhalsim...barely any Akumas? this is the Scub default choice and the typical bunch you always see online. (well lots of Dictator, and Kens...but you get the point) Regardless of who the Japs use, who do we think we're fooling? We all know that the beloved "Hadoken ambassador" is gonna uppercut, FDC Ultra'ing all of us at least 3 times a day on average..
4. I don't know about you, but I don't have that kind of money on me to waste at the arcades....and if I did?!? I wouldn't be at an arcade to waste it. BUT, if I did and I choose to waste money and my time at an arcade, not to mention a sex drive....I wouldn't spend my time trying to play a new character and test drive new tweaks. So with that said, with all the buffs that some of the characters got, its understandable that they aren't being tried and tested out yet. Think, while im here trying to practice cancelling a slide into an oil up, im getting my face smashed by a Mago or a Tokido or even a Uryo, who's playing to kick butt, and rank up...not to test drive new characters, and buff tweaks.
5. I can't wait for MVC3!!
@28 and people who answered him : NO, you DON'T lose any BP when you loose. But still, you gain really few if you lose against somone even way better than you, and you don't gain a lot, almost not at all, if you beat someone with way less BP than you.

Shiro Itachi steps in at about 32:17
There's more vids of Shiro Itachi's AE Makoto tearing things up in the a-cho channel. He did pretty well in the Ranbats, losing only once (afaik). MDR's Rufus didn't lose a single round!

This one's even better. 21 Minutes of Shiro Itachi dominance.
so Daigo has spent appx 83$ on this game so far? 330 losses or "pays" based on 25cent games.
I guess Sako don't play AE. I don't see him name anywhere on this list or mentioned at all.
i like how Daigo played about 800 more games than Mago and higher win ratio YET isnt number 1.
How sad for Dan players he is the only one were neither of them have reached A
@ powdertoastman:
I guess the difference is...level of competition? That's the only way I can see that happening. I'm sure Daigo is playing top level competition, but their points (and as a result, his points) aren't showing it. Wonder who Mago plays against...
It could be that he is still experimenting with the character you never know plus Mago has defeated him a bit so the point losses add up.
This is not tiers, but AVG win percent gives a general idea assuming these players are all similar skill.
Thats why AVG win percent would be helpful to have here.
Yup, if you don't believe that BP drops then go read Tokido's blog. http://tokidoki77.blog138.fc2.com/blo...
Even at 20 yen ($0.24) Daigo has spent 46200 yen ($559.11) on this game so far...
^ and multiply that by 4 if its one US dollar a game... those sponsors better get their monies worth at evo.
I think it funny that when some of you find out that your player is no longer THE BEST well im not playing anymore :( whaaaaaaaaa im going home and telling my mommy.... try playing someone that takes a little thinking on your part to win i dont even play ryu or ken or sagot or cammy very much and i win with them one thing ex foward down downfoward ohhh look i win yeah me im sooooo good at street fighter :) i played a 15000 point ryu the other day and he took gouken and i took my 1567 point ryu and won why one word SHORYUKEN!!!!!!!
yeah... i didn't think about that. I guess he has only payed 33,000 yen or 16,500 yen. still a lot of money on a game that wont be main at evo.
This game is shaping up to be amazing....Makoto/Yun/Yang/Fei Long/Zangief/Sagat all look to be powerhouses. Naturally it's too early for anything to be written in stone, but I think we're gonna have an excellent mixed bag of good characters.
Though if Sagat gets popular, Zangief isn't going far in tournaments. lol
Funny how only one out of the top ten players is using an 'old-school' character.
Ryu was barely affected at all, but Ken was buffed so much that the game is essentially an HD Remix of Third Strike.
Thanks, CAPCOM!
Is the Buppa playing as Gouken the same Buppa who plays Hazama in BlazBlue? I hope so. He's a very strong player.
