Next time we'll have:The magic of Pikachu0176
-__-
everybody is magic as soon as he masters his character.
Dang, I wish I was that good with Gen. I actually learned a few things in this video :-)
Nice links, but they're only good for style points, not damage.
this is what true players are all about.....big props to sand especially with such an underused character
Poor Gen, capable of a variety of links and ways to land supers and ultras, yet his damage still sucks even before he starts to lengthing the combos with fadcs. Such a low pay off for the work going into him. Atleast he can style on dudes :D
oh btw WarriorBySand is actually from morocco not europe >_<
The only thing this video proves is how crappy Gens combo damage is.
Gen is like the opposite of C. Viper. His combos are so many more hits that he suffers from the scaling damage, where C. Viper's combos are 3-4 hits (Fierce->Seismo->Flame->Knuckle). Watch him combo into Super or ultra after a bunch of hand slaps, it destroys the damage.
Damn i have to admit i learned you could Ultra after Gekiro from this... cant believe i didn't know that/hadn't heard about it, looks pretty specific timing/character size and fall rate but still is sick.
Awesome vid, great soundtrack that sounded alot like final fantasy 7
The vid was pretty hot.
To the people that say Gen's damage output isn't high, please look at the video again. Obviously his combos scale due to damage reduction but if you look at the start of his combos, they do tremendous about of damage. Look at Guile's(I believe it was Guile) health before Gen resets him, and then finishes him. His hands scale the combos alot because of how many times they hit but he still does massive damage.
YogaFlame24's "The Magic Of..." series is seriously one of the best SSF4 series out there. Always a treat!

Truth be told, at first I did too.
Then as soon as I accidentally moved the cursor over him I was like "Ah man! I remember Yeb used to break the game with this guy!" and I started to try and play him.
Needless to say, I was hooked. He's just very fun to play.
Now I understand why Gen beat Akuma in the manga, he's just impossible to keep up with. If am that strong when am 80+ i won't complain
Gen....Damage Scaling not your friend.
Otherwise some good stuff
Fantastic video! I would really like to see his Gen vs a high level Chun Li. I use random select alot and it seems that Gen vs a capable Chun is amazingly challenging. To see how WarriorBySand deals with that matchup would be excellent. Thanks YogaFlame24 for this vid!
I played some good gens but never like this.........oh my

How about you look at the video again. That guile example you mention with the reset he did not do "tremendous damage". After the crane cross over mk into s.mp>s.fp(1hit)> hands>fadc> clk ...then it reseted after that. That initial combo did like what..250~ damage? You call that tremendous for killing 2 bars in the process?
And the rest of the video there was a few times where he does the crane double air kick, in which one gets focus absorbed and also scored a counter hit from the second hit(bison/rufus).
OF course its gonna look like his combos start out "strong" especially given completely favorable instances. Dhalsim and ibuki have crap health.
Gen damage is garbage, doesnt help that he scales the crap out his damage with weak moves he also gotta work pretty hard for it too.
DONT try and tell others that was saying his damage is low to go look at the video when you didnt look carefully yourself.
extreme examples for tremendous damage below:
You wanna see MASSIVE damage? THawk jump in Fp>s.mp>FP tomahawk... thats like 350 damage from a 3 hitter. Gouken with someone cornered can do like a 470 damage combo using only 1 ex bar.
@#50
U2 mantis is linkable after hands(pressure point one), U2 crane has a few shenanigans too with odd cross over potential on wake ups.
Now THAT'S how all combo videos should be made to be epic! Screw Training Mode!
Yeb dropped Gen because the transition from sf4 and super was downright game breaking. They removed many of his tools, not just that mk hands loop. After dropping Gen he tried Cody out but afterwards said screw it and just quit Ssf4. He has recently re surfaced again on the Gen forums on srk, wondering about the AE changes.
But theres hope! AE has proved that Gen is much much stronger. With the buff he got from meter gain, he can get a super more times than before. So many new fadc combos have been created through the tcs, even going as far as beating that old mk hands loop. After playing as AE Gen myself, I might even go as far as saying hes better than his original sf4 counterpart because of all the nerfs all the other characters got and buffs he got.
.....Not impressed
and he ripped off Damien Walter's 2010 showreel music http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cNvJy0...
and people say he is weak and low tier, of course not!! he is easy to play like ryu and balrog, damn people understan that all character are the same easy to play, chun, balrog and ryu are the same as hakan and t.hawk, they have the same tools and the same power, and those requiere the same skill to master, if they will nerf guile and honda they need to nerf gen to, thats will be fair (all of this is sarcasm).
;)
@49 powderedtoastman
The combo he does to Abel, a big character, before the fadc, did a ton of damage for a combo that did not require bars or any fadc shenanigans. That mixed with his mixup possibilities after Hands Fadc increases that potential. If this person wanted to do straight damage without being fancy, he could. I looked at the video carefully, relax.
You'd make a great Hero.
Damaging scaling is always a big deal and it's in to reduce the gap between better and weaker players (as are several other elements in SF4). While it's not to have some sort of damage reduction process, I do wish it wasn't so ugly.
Holy hell....this Gen is amazing! But Gen does require good execution, he is not Sagat or Ryu. Individual hits do no damage, so linking and timing with him is vital. But if you've got the execution (like C. Viper), you can rip anyone apart. :D
@#58 Psykotsu
Yea that combo he did to abel, it did do a fair share of damage. But from a relative stand point compared to others that are able to jump in with their strongest air Fierce attack and get a combo of choice, its not a ton of damage WHEN viewed like that(seeing how its common among combo oriented characters).
What to make it worst is that anything else he does after the hands the damage probably aint worth it. Which is the main complaint imo when it comes to his combos.
Yes he can do damage in favorable conditions but when he has to start combos off of grounded light attacks, it doesnt look healthy at all then to fadc hands= burnt meter and low damage pay off. THUS why people say his damage overall is LOW(doesnt mean he cant do damage when the time comes for it)
Also what he did to abel was about the strongest thing he could of done without meter(for your straight damage line) and for meter saving purpose probably best to try and link a sweep after the hands. But this is a highlight reel so its gonna be him showing off.
Chances are you probably arent gonna read this but in case you do^^
Whoah! He's stylish while playing online, awesome.
