If not, I guess score a big combo with some major knockdown when Thor's almost dead, start taunting, throw out your assists, gain a bar or two, Thor gets killed off, you get a couple bars out of it.
It is cancel-able. If you've seen the con vids of people messing around as Thor, no one could figure out what this was. They would mash the buttons and see him point and glow, but then it would immediately disappear, so we all thought maybe it was a counter or something. So it must be that you have to hold the button to keep it charging, and if you let it up, it ends.
Wow I sure that 95% of the people going around saying Thor is terrible in the game haven't even played the CES build have they? I was at Secret Event & even the people just picking up the game made him look like a contender by no means "ass" like everybody says he's not OP I can tell you that but he isn't useless geez.
Useful hyper boost, I'd bet someone will find an awesome use for it.

#38 any one with a brain knows it's not gonna be useful stand alone, I would treat it like the meter building in the old KOF games remember? Just throw some good long delayed assist and charge for a a few seconds then proceed. 60% of your meter building is gonna come from hits and blockstrings anyways so.

Personally I hate how you can block or cancel a taunt. A taunt is supposed to aggravate your opponent. And if you are cocky enough to throw a taunt out, you should not be able to do anything until the taunt is finish. That's why I hated taunts in SFIV. It's retarded, you do a taunt, and half a second later, you block.
With this, I would have liked it better if Thor cannot do anything until the next level of bar is reached. And yes that means, if the bar is already 90% full, the taunt will only last a second.

All saikyo students know an Epic Taunt bring up your tier rank greatly. Deadpool probably is going to be Dan Tier as well, but I haven't seen any conclusive proof yet.)
This game is too fast pace of a game for anyone to cleanly pull this move off. The only way I can think of pulling this move off without getting hit is in between characters when you K.O. one of your opponent's characters.

Wow... a surprising number of people actually seem UPSET that Thor can do this. Like it or don't care, but I can't see why anyone would be AGAINST this. Not like it's a major change to anything.
I played thor at the CES event he is in NO WAY an ass character if anything he is OP he is faster it seems and stronger

felicia has a similar thing but it doesnt look like a taunt though, she does that blanka electric like move thing that boost up alot of meter like Thor. So most likely you dont need to use Thor even for that reason alone seeing how Felicia also is quick and has a nice assist.
Thor has a couple of fantastic assists, and the moves necessary to make use of a taunt like this. Whether Felicia does or not is questionable.
@62 You can use it to punish turtlers that wait for you to come at them so they can punish you via assist. Since you can stop it anytime you can activate it to lure them to call an assist then punish their assist accordingly. It all depends on how you use, it does'nt have to be used in such a linear fashion.

Just saying there are options out there in case people have forgotten. Seem like people are aiming to use him just to charge meter and switch to phoenix or something. Also felicia is one of the few with a low hitting assist IIRC, not saying Thor was bad in anyways really.
I plan on using him myself since ive tend to play heavy hitting characters with command grabs and no juggernaut around >:(

He does almost as much damage as hulk combo wise from what ive seen but with a few ranged stuff he has access too.

Works better with Thor how so, did he get upgraded since the last build or something? Felicia is a small mobile target that has a better chance at avoiding getting hit while boosting which is why i mentioned her. Seeing how people have the habit of running away trying to build meter and Thor being a big target yea well lol.

Technically, that isn't a taunt. It's an input similar to one of Felicia's moves and it's meant to charge the Special Bar, so it can probably be cancelled by the user at any time. Since whiffing attacks doesn't build the Special Bar anymore, I'm sure they gave a few characters these types of moves to have an alternative way of building the Special Meter. I believe Morrigan has a move like that, too.
In my opinion, that is a GREAT addition to Thor's already epic moveset! How Godly!
Thor is bad ass. Stop comparing Thor with Dan or someone else. Jeez. If any of these characters made the cut into the game is for a reason. Besides let's all see who actually wins either Thor or Hulk. Let's not forget they got a huge score to settle.
As usual people don't know how bad ass he's gonna be. The other characters can't charge there meter! Thor is going to be nuts.

I've heard that in addition to a number of improvements Thor has seen, his grab range was one of them. His grab range has been fixed according to players of the latest build. So Thor's grab range doesn't suck anymore, unlike Haggar's.
