Samples of the character themes for Phoenix and Haggar are now available in .mp3 format. You can right click and Save Link As to grab both of these files.

Each sample is a little under a minute and a half long, but it still gives you a good idea of what to expect from the music in Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

(Haggar's theme is very nice, but I guess it helps that there was no TVC or SFIV verson of it. It's also different from Guy/Cody's. Forgot my rankings, but I think this'll be top 5, if not 10. Mayor of America incoming!)

Bahahahahahahaha! I enjoyed MvC2's music! Not in the actual game, but it was still very good!

And I think that Haggar's theme does not do him justice. Capcom REALLY could have done something better. *cough cough his theme from that wrestling game*

you know the Cody's theme is a remix of his Alpha theme(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R36ASXl8pdo) which was origianly the intro theme to Final Fight (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YgHvQy...) using different instruments and the tempo changed alittle and "Turn the beat back" added...
Just wanted you to know, just kinda like how Gens was his Alpha 2 theme remixed.....

Why do people keep calling Hip-Hop music rap? I know Rap is performed on Hip-Hop tracks but it's NOT RAP PEOPLE. Hagger's Theme is Hip-Hop Styled.

X-23's sounds like 'Love'.
Cris Redfield's theme sounds like epicness.
Storm's theme is pretty sweet.
Zero's theme is about speed babe. Heck yeah.
Captain America's theme brings safety 'Hero time'
Dante's theme it's a song that when all hope is lost a demon would save us all.
WTHeck? Haggar's theme keeps the character itself alive.
Felicia's theme takes you into kittyland.
Morrigan's theme for me sounds like a dream entering Morrigan's inner door<3
Trish's theme sounds like a doll dancing with the devil.
Arthur's theme I can't say other thing but this 'I am a Viking!'
Thor's theme is windy and peaceful and too powerful!

It's easy to say Rap isn't music.
¿Where is the music? ¿where are the musicians? ¿Where is the inspiration for boring and nonsensical beats which fail to transcend? But it is easy to qualify Rap as "literary" stuff, it's lyric based, they want to SAY stuff. Not to perpetuate life with their 'music'.

Meh, I've heard better theme songs on this roster. These two have pretty generic-sounding themes. To me, at least.

Overall, I think this game has a pretty cool soundtrack.

Rap is the lyrical component. It is poetry based with a minor rhythm base. Hip-hop is everything else. Hip-hop includes jazz instrumentals, classical compositions, and the sort fortified with a beat. You cannot deny that real hip-hop is music.

Drop the ignorance please. Pretty please. Nujabes, DJ Okawari, DJ Dilla are all hip-hop producers yet most of their songs contain only instrumentals. Hip-hop CAN contain Rap, but rap is almost never Hip-hop. Rap can be called rhyme poetry; hip-hop is music. If you want some lyrical hip-hop songs look up "Lady Brown" and "Highs 2 Lows" by Nujabes ft. Cise Starr and tell me that isn't real music.

Warning: lyrics may cause you to think, replay, and understand more than you may be capable of. For Lady Brown, I recommend to know some calculus terms.

But not all modern rap is as such. Listen to songs by Black Violin. They are extremely talented, but not well known. Others such as Tech Nine do have SOME of those drug/gun songs you speak of, but is not heavily composed of it.

What would be good themes, Radiohead? Nirvana? Metallica?

Of course not, I'm not a Techno or Hip Hop fan myself but these themes are great and couldn't be better. Just like the classic SF2 themes are.
But well, these are opinions from people that have no idea how to make videogame music work and go well with a game so...
Nothing new. Keep saying these themes are bad because of the genres used, it's hilarious.

MvC3's music being bad has nothing to do with the genre. The music per se has a boring composing, same goes for SSFIV.

Now sounds like "videogame music" is a new genre, as stated by you, then no one should take it seriously.

Based on that logic, yeah, no one cares and there shouldn't be any kind of effort in the composing. In that case, MVC3 OST works like charm, no effort needed. And of course 'couldn't be better'.

It's not about "hating" on other people's music, that is not the case here (not my case at least).
The case is that one (like me) does not like MvC3 music, which doesn't make it "hating on other people's music", it is a much different matter.
Not like the fans -are- the 'music'. Nah, people can choose to feel "offended" if other people is 'against' their stuff.
