• For those of you who weren't aware, you can combo into Zangief's Ultra 2 in SSF4 after a Focus Attack, and there's a video showing how it's done. Sent in by MsNoNuts and SygacityGamer.
Geif's U2 link was interested to know but I doubt any good Geif players will actually try it. Out of the all tourney streams and online matches I watched, I have not seen any good Geif players use focus attack effectively. They'll use focus to absorb projectiles but never release the actual attack. It'll be fun to see if Vangeif or any good Geif players will connect.
As a Gief mainer I've tried implementing his FA. I'm not near Vangief's status or anything but it can work in a some matchups. I think most Gief players prefer the damage from U1 and it's sheer fear factor once it's landed.
My biggest issue is the scaling after dizzy. Don't think I'd use it then. Other than that when are you really going to land a level 2 focus?
maybe if they didnt take out lariat FADC U2 from beta, U2 wouldnt have been fairly useless as it is now(not counting AE)
@#5 gief focus attack is generally too slow and people tend to retreat alot so trying to land it is generally a waste of time, also Vangief does use the focus attack once in a while, he lets a level2 or counter hit level 1 focus attack rip after an ex green hand to bait and punish to get a free combo or grab in a few match ups.

But if you are gonna be using U2 is better to save it as an anti air punish threat than trying to use it as a punishing technique off a focus attack. Good to know for an all or die punishment to close out a match but other than that waste of an ultra imo.
