So Akuma's in, but where's Bison? Hopefully DLC
hmm this should be interesting if akuma plays a big part in the story of the game since well he is basically Ryu's Rival IN A WAY. im not saying he is, but it should be interesting to see how they use him in the game

Wait, Tron Bonne is a villain in this game? Her episode trailer implies that she's a good guy.
She doesn't make for a very intimidating bad guy, especially standing there with all the genuinely evil villains.
Akuma is a crazy air character already, makes perfect sense to give him a spot on the roster.

Come on, I'd say Akuma fights a whole lot different than Ryu & Ken. If I expected any shoto other than Ryu in this game, it was Akuma.
Also I've seen some convincing fakes, so until Capcom freaking comes out and officially announces Akuma with gameplay video and everything, I could care less about these images.

Hoo boy, those had better be some BOMB-ASS fakes, especially since they're on game review and game pre-order sites.
Whether you like it or not, Akuma has squeezed his way into the limited roster.
Hope they give him his Messatsu Gou Hado (air version too) and his Kongou Kokuretsu Zan (ground punch) from 3S, that would be a cool lv 5 Hyper. Capcom be damned for not giving him those in SF4.
And meh @ haters, christ, do you realize there's many fireball + shoryuken type characters in MvC? Get real with the shoto hate, I'd understand Ken (Ryu has to be in), but damn, Gouki?
Tron's a villain? Honest to God, I wouldn't know, I've never played a Megaman game. She sure doesn't seem very villainy.

I mean i played morrigan and ryu in TvC, so why not in mvc3, but if i can choose between "just" ryu and "ultrawesome" akuma, well i rather take akuma, i love this guy so much.

Tron is evil just because she robs banks, steals food and money from peoples houses, beats up the police and so much more. also she is very intelligent so that sounds like your typical bad guy to me

They gotta be giving him a new moveset they have to although he does function quite a bit different than ryu and they will probebly give him these three hypers
1.Raging demon
2.Bunch of air fireball hyper(can't remember the name)
3.And a powerup super to turn him into oni/shin akuma
Plus he's got a teleport and demon flip, and probebly more combo potential , I think he could be fun in this game capcom would just have to work hard to differentate him
I'd prefer Bison in the game for another Capcom villian, but Akuma is alright, I suppose.

Best part about Akuma being in will be beating him up.
He's totally lame, but at least there's enough other characters for me to use. I'm already having a tough time cutting my team back to three members, so there's no point in complaining about "wasted slots."

It has been ages since Akuma uses all of his supers and this is going to be "true" debut of Akuma in his absolute form with ALL of his moves and special moves. Air super fireballs, ground super fireball, his version of shoryu reppa, raging demon, and his super hurricane kick from 3rd strike will be accessible from the getgo.
Okay really WTF is wrong with u people akuma is one off the best capcom fighting characters to date. i could have sworn not to long ago people were screaming for akuma and ken.y?cause there popular and the majority off the charaters that have been anounced are alredy new and orginal its only so many new things u can do in a damn fighting game with 6 buttons and d pad.stop da bitchin people. nothin wrong with classics damn!

I hate how this is more legit than the other source given the official look to the art, so this is basically a big confirmation, though it sickens me to the core.
My problem? Why is Tron a villain in this picture if, you know, she was kinda heroic in the Episode 2 trailer? Wasn't she getting attacked by Super-Skrull? Why isn't Super-Skrull or MODOK not in that picture?

how is capcom smothering characters in our face i would really like 2 see a lot more classics like commando jin ken but im not gonna sit here and bitch about the characters they pick cause i like devil may cry but ill pick virgil over trish n e day and m.o.d.o.k who the hell is dat. i think that he's is a little odd but ill play wit him to test him out. just remmber mvc is a fan based game not originalality based. not to say to put no new characters but remmber there are a lot off mouths 2 fed. newbies and old heads. so u got ur sun god dog deadpool superskrull and spencer. let use have our akuma ryu and chunli.
Akuma sucks. We already have Ryu, the original shoto, and a bunch of Shoto-like characters such as Spiderman, Cap and Morrigan.
Sure in a game like SF his differences are much wider but in this game his moves will look the same as Ryu's and will probably have similar effects. He plays different but he isn't unique enough.

Maybe Commando and Jin arent in because they're smothering us with Ryu, Akuma, and other characters with very similar playstyles? ;)
Her initial entry in Megaman Legends would classify her as a villain technically, but she's more of an antagonist or anti-hero. She seems damn heroic though in the second short for MvC3 though...
already we all agree that this is not really interesting, but lets see the good site, they say early that no more shotos will be put outside of ryu, but now akuma is kind of here, so lets try to have some hope and hope capcom have a glimse of logic and add X to the game,

I think if that was Akuma, Capcom would have had the image pulled down by now. That's why I'm still holding out hope for Green Goblin. Also, I think it would be a mistake for Capcom to put him in. They've been dong so good about not throwing in clones.

i mean if they add captain commando and jin then that would be cool since i use to use those characters as a combo with iron man

Uggggh, what a bad choice over strider. Terrible choice to recycle, should have just gone with what mvc one did and let ryu transform as a super.
Akuma... ugh. I think the roster is amazing so far, but I think Akuma is kind of a lame addition. I don't care about shotos at all, never will, but Gouken would've been way more original, even though he doesn't look cool haha. As for vilains, Dictator would've been so unique in that game.

Guys chill, he's not a Ryu clone. I play SSF4 alot and use almost every character. Ryu and Akuma play completely differently. Yeah, they're shotos, but they won't be clones. You have my word :)

All I see is whining and bickering because somebody's beloved character isn't in the game. You have no control over who's in and who aint. Some characters didn't make it because of license issues.

Didnt know Strider was deconfirmed and did they really say he didnt fit into this game? I wonder if thats technically or personally speaking, either way i find that hard to believe. Damn that blows it for all sword wielding characters. My hopes of slashing heads just went down the drain. Just give me Mega Man and ill shut up for now. :-)

The inside source is true; there is likely to be a Hsien-Ko and Sentinel reveal anytime now. Not to mention the leaked Taskmaster reveal in one of the comic scans, and achievements for 3 Darkstalker characters, and what appears to be exclusive achievements for both Taskmaster and Akuma (who are said to be hidden unlockable characters).
I also could have sworn they said they werent bringing back characters that are popular simply because they were powerful and not because anyone liked them

Is Tron even considered a villian in this game? In the second trailer, she was clearly fighting alongside the heroes, helping Captain American and Chun-Li against Super Skrull. Having her in that picture alongside other villians just doesn't seem right.
On the note, Akuma isn't really a "villian" either. He's more of a neutral character, wouldn't you say?
(Nope, Tron is a villain. Only reason she's siding w/ the good guys is because she can't steal from a destroyed world. Akuma is a bad guy too, just ask Tokido.)
Akumas desire to fight strong opponents is more than enough to be clumped in any group. And if hes a hidden character his purpose can be separated from the rest of the cast.
He accepted upgrades from apocalypse in msh vs sf, why wouldnt he accept whatever from these powerful connected dudes? Wonder how Dormammu and Akuma would interact both being demons.

I think Strider would be a greatest addition for MVC3
the reason putos are hatin on akuma is because they think hell play like mvc2 akuma. havent you putos seen the wonderful job capcom is doin to balance the roster? cap, ryu and hulk sucked balls in mvc2 but look at them now. they can go toe to toe with the rest of the cast. akuma well be able to do this also. maybe even do it better. >:)

Akuma? Well.. He's a shoto alright lol. The Akuma fans are happy and rightfully so. I'm still waiting for M.Bison. He has ALL the right moves to be in this game and whats more they would actually have a use in MvC3. Wesker's in. The ultimate evil squad would've been Bison, Wesker & Vergil but I guess Vergil's deconfirmed but its looking more and more like M.Bison will make the cut. I'll have to find a third to compete with all that awesomeness lol.

Does anyone who want M.Bison in this game actually play as him in MVC2? The answer is no. I LOVE the dictator in sf2 and ssf4 (and CVS2), but he was just a shadow of himself in mvc2. I am glad we got Akuma instead.

I used M.Bison in xvsf and mvc2, altho he was the fat bison that threw odd projectiles . One of the few times he was playable without being a fully charge character. If he makes it here i would want him to be both the cvs2 version and mvc2 version of him combined. Having access to both of his moveset and potentially not being a full charge character again.
So far no one fights like him, that psycho field move was weird but unique, no one with head stomps, scissors kicks, psycho crusher like moves. And Bison and wesker teaming up im sure there usually goals on experimenting on folks and both trying to make themselves stronger and better from that study would make them a formidable team. So i say WHY NOT include him he can fit the story well and add a different fighting style too.

He may offer another fighting style but nobody wants to see more sf characters return. It's time for the new characters to shine not these old recycled characters. I don't want to see the same characters over and over I want brand new and brand new is what their delivering.

Yea i get that, seeing how most of the cross over series tend to be street fighter heavy on the capcom side. But seeing how street fighter characters bring in the crowd i wouldnt put it past them putting him in even if he turns out mediocre.
But really what other villains on capcom side that are somewhat relevant that doesnt involve street fighter.
Only other one fighting game related is Jedah from DS that i can think of off the top of my head.

The point I was getting at, was that capcom should dig into their history and bring out some more characters/villians, but granted some people wouldn't know who they are because they weren't born around that time. Maybe another cyberbot guy besides Jin that plays totally different from Jin? Hell they can put the Dino Crisis girl in there that summons little raptors lol.
If any SF characters, I would crack open SF-EX and bring in some skullomania! That would really broaden the SF cast in the game.

Capcom was steadily doing the opposite of that for both sides. Aiming for characters that are relevant to TODAYS standards. Sadly you didnt name any villains tho, and the EX series guys are owned by that other company.
Would be nice to dig into their history for characters but they didnt want to do that too much this time. Poor strider,jin, commando all outdated franchises and are not ingame >_<. If only red earth or star gladiator had a better following lol

Yea it is bullcrap, but what can we do about it. From character choices and deconfirms to the poor sounding remixes, makes it all questionable. At this point im wondering why i still dont see Gill or M.Bison yet.
but im content enough with having a new game on the way that is faster paced(altho most of the characters i used in the previous vs series arent in the game >_<). Ssf4 is getting too dragged out with its gameplay and need something else to spice it up.
These sudden bloom of Bison fans seem to want him in b/c of his generic character traits and cape seem to fit in well with the other villains, but I wonder how many will actually main him.
Anyway, my source tells me that Bison will be in. And he's going to have a similar hyper move to his SSF4 ultra 2 counterpart.
But the Capcom Villains look horriable at this theyed have to reveal only villians from now until release date. Me myself ive never been into hero worship so BISON is badly need or even Dimtre. As far as marvels side goes they have a HELL of alot more terrifying villian then f**kin MODOK I mean really Marvel are you saving these other guys for something else?
They're Hypocritical They're Like No More Shotos but then akuma is in i guess i mean i dont give a damn cuz hes just a character and wouldve been happy if juri and saku and other characters were in but i hope they come in DLC but If Your Gonna Say Something ''No More Shotos'' atleast keep your word oh well i have no problems fighting akuma ryu or any shoto

Ryu's rivals were Cyclops and Captain America.
He will have 5 moves in total
His Level 1s: Messatsu Gou Shoryu, Messatsu Gou Hadou, Messatsu Tenma Gou Zanku and his vertical electrical hurricane kick.
