Like Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, Marvel vs. Capcom 3 will feature a 'disconnecter hell' feature which will attempt to match up people who rage quit with one another, according to a GamesRadar story.
The game will keep an invisible stat which monitors your connection habits. If it notices you pulling the plug during online games, it will start marking your reputation down. No-one else will see it, but the utterly amazing outcome is this: Rage quitters will be matched up with other rage quitters, allowing everyone else to enjoy the game in peace. Amazing.
Although a similar system was implemented into Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, there were some complaints that it wasn't completely effective, although it's possible Capcom has improved this feature to make it work better in the upcoming title.
Tip from Yasir.
Aww =( But its fun to talk to ragequitters =(
They leave your game, and then you send them a lyric from a sentimental 80's love ballad. They get so angry!
"Never wanna give you up, I wanna hold you in my arms forever"
"YA CUZ YOU THROW AND THATS ALL YOU DO FAG"
I love and hate rage quitters. I love them, because there frustration and anger is my joy. I hate them, because...well they're quitters. I have never in my life ever quit a match because I was getting my ass kicked. I accept defeat and just train more.
what? i don't get it how is this suppose to work? I mean say you have a bad connection with a few people and you were drop how are you suppose to know that the plug was pull or that the connection just drop? farther more most people wouldn't pull the plug they just go back to the dashbord.
for vanilla i was called a ragequitter everytime i lost connection with the server. I hope they have a great online system to lessen lag and to get rid of connection problems. But now i have a better router so connection is smooth sailing
Occasionally my internet plays up and I happen to disconnect unintentionally. Sad day if I get pitted up with all the quitters because of it
@JMac
i think cvs is partially right. if it was a hardware or intenet connection reason that you have become disconnected, i don't think it will count, but if you quit during the fight and not let the fight finish, that adds to the 'ragequitter' score.
that's how i'd program it anyway.
If only the could implement this in ssf4.Maybe include it in the inevitable AE patch?Seth are you listening?
"The player has left the session"
I leave games when lag is spiking like a snow storm....does that make me a ragequitter?
This would be better in Japan, not US. The lag here is terrible online for fighting games. Not everyone will wait to get disconnected if they're getting pissed of by lag that's making them move in slow motion (it's happened to me a lot and I have cable internet). It's more sensible to leave the game if you're going to lose because of lag and you can't do anything about it.
The lag is the sole reason why this cannot be as effective as it would be in a lag free environment. I can see the holes already. If I end up fighting people who ragequit, I'll be selling my copy.
Best idea ever. You punk rage quitters better think twice before pulling a stunt like that. Take your losses like a man or woman..lol. (PSN- Kidjeronimo...if anyone wants to play some super street fighter).
@28 This plus random times when PSN chooses to just lose connection
Yea i don't play mvc2 online but my friends strategy was to quit everytime someone picked the magneto sentinel storm team as a way of boycotting it.
Made sense to me. I find whiners are alot more annoying than ragequitters, but i don't meet many rage quitters. If only there was a feature to put all the whiners together.
"omg u only won cos x is overpowered in this game and i'm too dumb to counter it!"
"Omg you're character is so overpowered because i can't jump in like an idiot!"
"I am paper. Rock is working as intended, scissors needs nerf!!"
Yea those idiots should be put in a corner all by themselves
Only rage quitted twice (Stupid T Hawk) to get Tenpeat, lol now I take like a family man.
Man with axe (RE5) vs hulk??
http://img403.imageshack.us/f/mvsc01....
Shiiiiit they should be called "common sense" quitters bc half the god damn time the game lags so bad you cant even play.
@35
Hey, there's that infamous comic book scan that everyone went nuts over. Y'know, the one with Galactus and Taskmaster. I guess it really is official...
This means The Hulk should be a DLC character for RE5's mercenary mode. "HULK SMASH PUNY MAJINIES!"
I see they've given up on trying to cover up the Galactus leak...

Thank the lord.
Ragequitter hell. And all you can pick is thor. DUNDUNDUN.
=============================================================
Day = Made
Whatever...totally raging if I'm forced to counter god tier with god tier again as a means to win. I hated that about MvC2. I pretty much asked to lose by not picking Storm, Sentinel and Magneto and I HATE those characters.
I do quit if the lag is extreamly unbarable and the number of points they have is like freakin 0. But what gets me is how well some players play under lag, they never drop combos and are the most aggressive. And what do I hate more than Ragequitters? Lagswitchers. I swear it never fails, your winning and the flow of battle is in your favor and just before you do a specific move it stops, Then for some reason the other player is allowed to trounce on you. That right thur makes me want to rage quit man.
So... for the front cover of their comic book, they used an artwork featuring Frank West's shadow.
Yet, it appears he's not in the game, according to Lupinko's list.
That's just great.
I also wanted to note something, I spoke about before regarding infinites, I can understand performing long hard to do combos but if you perform an obvious infinite and they ragequit you kind of don't deserve to send hate mail. Anyone who does an infinite is asking for it, it does'nt matter how you defend it, infinites are bad and to casual players it's worst. It might be ok on seasoned Tourney players who are use to it but don't expect some guy who is just having fun to just sit back and take it.
Infinite AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!!
@44
lupinko has most things right through lucky guesses and some common sence. but his frank west thing is obviously wrong. why would they even make a sihluette of him if he wasn't even in the game at all? i don't think lupinko is right about west at all.
Just cus it was said by kilian that you shouldn't believe anything you read or see online, is just common sence.
@45
i only tend to use infinites for 3-4 seconds at a time periodically. 5-6 seconds if the guy is tougher.
so do i deserve the opponent to rage quit me at all?
@48
thanks for the amen, DeathQuote44. :)
Frank west would be an interesting character to the game, and since jils moves were changed so she doesn't use zombies (i heard about that anyway, take it with salt), frank's RAM related ommision is BS, sice data goes on HDD now.
and the only reason they aren't showing him (or megaman) yet is because they are saving some of the most popular characters (that they believe) that are the most popular here in the good ol' North America. Logical no?
@48
(cont.) and to add them at the latest time possible before the game would build so much hype. Ingenious? Devious? a little of both? I believe the latter of the three.
Okay sorry for sounding noobish and all, but exactly how does lagswitching work? I've heard about it and I can kinda distinguish when it is happening, but how does a player do that? Because it is another really lame thing about playing others online.
@46
Common sense, lucky guesses, yeah, but I think guessing Jill and Shuma as DLC is something else. I mean, damn, I don't like believing in this guy, but everything he said was right.
And I seriously hope you're right about that idea of keeping the best for the last, even if it's for DLC... but these characters deserved a slot in the disc from the very beginning, IMO.
@53
i won't mind if the characters on lupinko's list weren't the only ones on the disk, if it is, i am dissapoint.
and since frank west is in the sihluette artwork, he is def in the game, playable or not. Hopefully playable.
@51 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5gE-ih... that should help answer your question i hpoe.
#55
Well I'm sure there's a way to observe WHEN the disconnections occur. If you are always losing when this suddenly happens, 99 times out of a 100, you're a raged quitter.
For those of you saying they are noobs, not entirely. Some I were really good but I have beaten them with low tier to their TOP tier chars until they quit, trying to save their record. And those ppl STILL never reach the top BECUZ they lack TOP player skill.
It would definitely help to pick... (drum roll) connection with GREEN barred opponents. Duh
@56 He better be. Only time will tell.
But still, if he's not in the game, even though they clearly intended to put him in at the beginning, then why, in the name of all that is sacred, they decided to put him out.
I just seriously hope that they didn't think of something like "Oh yeah, Jill has zombies too, let's put her instead."
The world needs Frank West.
Ă€lot of green bar connections mysteriously lag alot actually. There are plenty of decent reasons to quit in MVC2 being that it's a badly balanced game, but thats why i dont play it online.
SSF4 however, not a good reason to quit unless some scrub is causing lag to give himself the advantage
Capcom should make a special category in the Replay Channel just for ragequitters so they can be shamefully put on display for all to see.
@60
i'm sure he is for 5 reasons
1) capcom thinks everyone loves him, so they will add him to MvC3 and, in their own words, 'to every game they can'
2) the artwork
3) if not capcom would lose fans, and therefore money
4) last minute reveals mean's last minute 'super-hype'
5) since when can his zombie moves cause RAM issuses on a game that you load to your hard drive?
thank god!
although, i hope it doesn't penalize things like the internet connection itself messing up. when i first moved into my apartment, i had timewarner cable and it would mess up sometimes, causing me to lose massive points... even when i was completely dominating lol.
@64
-Of course, Capcom said the wanted to put him in every game they could, but they also said that they would try to not add anymore shotos, or darkstalkers characters, and also to not make too much quick assumptions from the character's shadows.
-The artworks date from the beginning, before he was, supposedly, taken out.
-Many fans would be disappointed, indeed, but I don't think those fans wouldn't buy the game just for one character.
-I can't disagree with that, but there are other very popular characters that could bring much hype, too. So idk.
-The RAM issues was BS from the start, and I don't even think this one's from Lupinko.
They could also thought that bringing Chuck Greene as DLC and thus, taking out Frank West would be more interesting because more people played Dead Rising 2.
I hope they didn't.
@67
he never said anything about the shilluettes entirely, just not to trust everything on the internet, that is just common sense to anything online.
only the newbs who loved to spam magneto, storm and sentinal will be hyped.
P.S. and since when was Capcom's mascot a stupid character that nobody likes? or are you just a megaman-hater?
and i'm not confusing anyone, klennox was fake, we all know that. but i was saying that you, Cornwad, and lupinko are the same guy.
@68
technically west isn't a shoto, since they changed jill's moveset (i think?)
ppl not buying a game cuz of one caracter is a strech, i know, but i exaggerated a little for my reasons (who doesn't from time to time?)
The Chuck greene theory is a welcome possibility, or him as an alternate costume for frank is welcome too.
anyway, i was just trying to give some logical reasons for him to be in the game, no harm, no foul, right? i just don't like to belive a 'leaked' list from some dude on a twitter account. and a lot of evidence points to west's inclusion in the game, i never really said he's playable, just that he's in, one way or another.
I dont see why people complain about boosting...who cares?
Of course West isn't a shoto, but I just said that Capcom said this and that to show that they don't always seem to say the truth. The no more shotos for Akuma, and no more Darkstalkers for Hsien-Ko.
On the other hand, they said to not make assumptions from the shadows, especially when they were asked about the Frank West's one, on the same artwork they're using for the comic book.
Well, yeah, there are plenty of reasons to include Frank West in the game (playable, DLC, on the disc, I don't care, I just hope), but I just can't find a real good reason to take him out... I mean, I heard he was like, almost finished, so, why?
@74
shoto is a term used for a clone or a person with a moveset that is almost the same but with subtle differences, such as ryu/ken/akuma/dan, cap. falcon/ganondorf, fox/falco/wolf, etc.
and taking a shot at my intelligence isn't nice, i don't go after yours, so why would you go after mine. i've tryed to be civil in our argument, but that just seemed a bit too uncivilised.
if the final roster is as what lupinko says, i'll admit i was wrong, if not, oh well.
ok ok, i took a shot at the dark on that one Cornwad, i'll admit i didn't know what shoto was, but i know now, and since i now know the actual definition, how is west or greene a shoto? none of them shoot fire balls or projectiles as far as i know, they were mugiver(?)-like, build-it-yourself melee fighters.
and now you have resorted to the 'no you' meme? ???
@75
yes i agree with you, if he was almost finished, why stop? if they just started then that's different.
isn't the best solution just to give a loss to disconnector and a win to the other? I believe a couple sports games implement this feature which have a way of detecting which side unplugged the cable. I guess it would be unfair for legit disconnects but the odds of that happening are really low anyways.
well look at it this way what if my power goes out am i going to be forced to play with these fools and on PSN no less why punish me for what nature or a bad signal does so what people rage quit its a part of video game a funny part lets not take that away while also screwing over those who disconnect on accident.
Well to be fair... You can still send them those beautiful videos and songs that add insult to them leaving... Just now you wont have to deal with them anymore..
It would be even worse if it somehow tracks your character usage and makes it to where whomever has the higher usages, they are disabled for online play.
@#84
Why do you even assume you'd be lumped with rage quitters anyway ?
Like said above ssf4 made the distinction somehow between connection failures and ragequits .
If not anyway , you have no business playing mvc3 competitively if you get constant power outages .
I also bet the invisible nature of the feature got another purpose than still keeping rage quitters playing . I'm guessing after a while without abuse of that kind , you are back to your regular status
I HATE rage quitters ugh so annoying also you guys need to stop complaining about storm an maggy "i hate her i hate him" either way your going to lose to them lol.
I Never Rage Quit I'll Take The Beating and Wont Complain But I Smile When I Beat A High Rank Guile Player with Sakura :D they leave before i get the actual Win...hmm im screwed when i get this game i mean... look at marvel side -_- compared to capcom...then again Marvel has Always Had Powerful Characters in the MvC Characters
This idea is great but bad for me, cuz my modem disconnects randomly alot and i dont know why and its annoying the damn out of me, and i hope that they dont send me to disconnecter hell cuz i play fair and dont unplug or stupid stuff like that.
Now, only if they made one like this in SSF4 only to players that play Blanka and Ken would play each other... Even better, a detector on Guile players that detects how many seconds a Guile player presses back throughout the game and if he does it more than 80 percent of the time he loses BP and PP and the other player earns them, no matter who won :D That would teach the noobs a lesson :D
Sounds good =D, though i've only had one rage quit in all my 2000+ SSFIV matches.
