If you want to go even further, there's a Q&A session with The Beast here, which talks about why he got into fighting games and other stuff.
Nuki is probably my favorite Chun player ever. He sticks with her through nearly every game he plays (at least the ones that don't involve teams) and is usually a top 3 Chun in that game. And he's one of the few Chun players that I don't mind watching in 3rd Strike.
It's kinda funny how Daigo was drawn into SF4 not because of the gameplay, but simply because it introduced it's card system (which has already existed in lots of arcades before)
I also loved how he claimed that SF4 wasn't "Worth his Ryu" (Whatever that means), but stuck with him in SF4 and SSF4, but all of a sudden switched to Yun in SSF4 AE. Does that means he doesn't think AE is "Worth his Ryu"?
@ #6
Basically he thought Ryu wasn't so great in SF4, and that Ryu isn't a character he'd recommend for SF4 (for competitive or fun factor reasons? I don't know, he didn't specify).
Daigo would still use Ryu, but non-fireball characters have now been brought up to line against fireball characters to the point that the number of unfavourable matchups for Ryu have increased dramatically.
He previously had an interest in Yun back in the SF3 days but at that time he couldn't be bothered learning a new character from scratch, and instead just stuck with a shoto character.
No, when Daigo talked about worth, he ment that the game isn't worth trying, couse' it felt like a lowly game after ST. But he proved himself wrong...
I thought he mentioned SFZ2 as being the inferior game to SSF2X?
He didn't prove himself wrong - I think it's more the case that from what was said on the video presented enough fact to convince that you'd like to believe Daigo proved himself wrong when he really has nothing to prove to himself in the first place. I speculate it's more "I've played this series for so damn long...what the heck I'll just keep at it despite what I said...". Overly simplistic? It's one of the reasons Valle came back - just for the love of the game. Remember that in fighting games (and not only limited to) you need alot of other players participating to keep it fun and motivating. SF4 is boring by it/yourself, but with all that local competition surrounding him, and now that he's able to travel the world via MadCatz, I'm not surprised that he's still playing despite his initial thoughts/comments. People change their minds (and for numerous various reasons at that).
"Worth his Ryu" is inaccurate translation. Should be something like "It's not worth playing Ryu in SF4" Just wanted to clear that up.
I had to mute it and just read the text.. there voices and pathetic laughter drove me mad
Story of the gayness that is the Sonic Boom...
I cared more about the story of him playing Darkstalkers than him talking about Daigo. Although Daigo being part of the story made it interesting as well.
I like how this is a story about Nuki's past, but everyone still focuses on Daigo's huge Japanese... situation.
"SF4 is not Worth his Ryu" is kind an accurate(literal) translation.
"It's not worth playing Ryu in SF4" is kind of different meaning.
Daigo won't play mvsc3 and the fans will smash capcom staff heads and then eat their brains givin the idea to make Resident evil 6! LOL!
The game looks awful ppl open your eyes! I can't believe it too, I celebrate the chance for capcom to make money without effort and the true talent of capcom, in the end is a company to make money, and thats it.
lol pro Mahjong player?
