You guys are so full of it. When a new version of the game comes out, he finds a character he likes and is strong, sticks with him. Have you already forgotten Guile is vanilla? Yun was only considered really godlike after Daigo switched to him and said he was strong. How can he follow the tier charts when people are just basing tier listings off of him? Which is ass kissery, if you ask me. He has to put in a LOT of work to become good with these characters. And if he was such a tier whore, why does he play in Super? There are stronger characters with stronger matchups. He's just going by personal preference, as well as learning just one character and sticking to him/her. So how about you think before you open your mouths?
I always thought doing something you are passionate about was "having a real life". Meh it is just me who thinks that then... I think I am getting the case of deja vu here. I could have sworn there was a similar comment or so way back that said things like that and I responded to it. Oh well. I guess it is just opinions to opinions. I think at the end of the day... It should not matter who is a "tier whore" or not. I think if you like picking the character you like, despite the reason behind it, and you are content with that choice.. That should be all that matters about it. I am sure not every single Ryu player, Balrog, etc player or choosing them because of rank... If I remember correctly.. Since Super... Ryu has not been top five at all. I think it is speculation like that along with other things that causes the game to get serious for all the wrong reasons.

TKD should just stick to U1. Punishing jump-backs with it is his signature. He tried to use U2 the same way but it didn't work out.

The 'tier whore' talk is amusing.
A lot of you evidently need to sink your teeth in AE for yourselves to experience just how strong a character Yun actually is.
Tiers and group viability aside, Yun boils to the top quite comfortably due to his vast array of safe and effective tools VS the majority of the cast. Generally speaking strong attributes are usually countered elsewhere, but he seems to duck this design trait with him really only falling short by way of his dp (which cannot be cancelled) and his somewhat poor stamina. Minor issues really when you consider his wealth of strengths elsewhere.
This isn't to say he's a go-to character for wins, because naturally he asks the player to adhere to a style that won't suit everyone. However denying how strong he is demonstrates a complete lack of understanding of how AE plays insofar, not to mention suggests that a lot of run-away commentary found here is being made by theory-fighters who are yet to try AE for themselves.
Daigo himself was quite vocal about how strong he thought Yun was in a recent interview - to the point where he was actually quite surprised how Capcom shoveled so much dominance into one character in what is otherwise an impressively balanced game. From what I've played so far, the 'rest' of the cast are all actually very well balanced with one another. Yun definitely throws a spanner into the works though it remains to be seen how long that dominance holds up. Recall when Super dropped how Dudley was coined as being particularly strong? I'm curious if Yun drops a rung or two once the match-up is better understood.
Either way, he's a strong character and this almost certainly factors into anyone's decision to slug it out with him.

Didnt Dudley basically get called out when the game released though. On paper he was strong until people actually got to play him, Yun on the other hand is spreading like a wild fire. By now he should of dropped a few notches. Atleast with Yun, he has more potential due to his super and more variety from it so he shouldnt be too boring to watch with people trying to get creative with it. Personally i dont care much about the tiers, it about how fun matches can be and from a spectator view how interesting it is to watch.

Yun is indeed looking overpowered, but that doesn't really have much to do with the "tier whore" talk. By the logic of most of these guys calling Daigo a "tier whore", 90% of tournament players are tier whores as well. People don't seem to understand that these tournament players are not playing for the fans, they play to win and most importantly get paid. How else did Daigo ever reach the fame he has now?
So in other words, the people spouting "tier whore" to players like Daigo are just trying to find any way to bash on them with no worthwhile reason behind it. When you especially factor in a game like SSF4 and it's overall character balance, it's really sad to see frivolous insults like "tier whore" from this community. I guess this website is known as EventScrubs for a reason.
Lol, 3rd strike he used ken, vanilla Ryu, Super Ryu and now yun. Is he a tier whore? Freakin NO! Daigo is making a living and if using another character who in my opinion is mid tier helps him keep his job so be it. Besides how many times have daigo put out a tut for ryu or even said thank you to his fans? He doesn't give a hadoken if you like or hate him unlike vale and Air who actually helps others up their game. Remember when vanilla came out Viper was said to be godlike tier till her matchups where discovered then she dropped, yun is good but low health and some grapplers sure will give him hell. Would love to see Daigo vs Vangief in AE.
Daigo has used Ryu for most of his career and Ryu has been mid tier in most games except for Vanilla SF4 so how is he a tier whore again.
Also why is being a "tier whore" an insult? Name a player that does well at major tournaments not using a top tier character. <---None of these trolls will be able to respond to this.
