Damn High level play, seems like the onlyone who is high level is Zoo.
@2 I think you can but iF my memory serves me correctly you have to commit to the whole thing but if your combo is stopped before half way you retain the other half of the meter.
The thing with custom combos though was that the damage reduction in SFA2 was a joke so you could still do hefty damage if you combine the right moves as seen with Sodom. Custom combos was very popular in Alpha because of this.
i always did like ken stage lol i see morrigan XD and some more
i wonder why sodom has never been considered for ssf4 AE?
bison got raped at the end of the first video, serves that bastard right!
Yea I think Guy works better in a fast paced game like Alpha 2 not some slo-mo infinite reversal window game like SSF4.
I was playing 3rd Stike the other day & then I look back at all these great mechanics & it makes me look down on SSF4 for being so damn scrubby.
Pretty sure high level guys can still create crazy pressure in SSf4
wah wah wah 3rd strike. If someone could master 3rd strike where would they get off whining that anything in the sf4 series ever needed to be nerfed
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8tQ58J...
And thats against a really high level player, and this is also a much better balanced game than alpha 2 was, but i still like alpha 2.
Guy made need some buffs, but he's far from being "bad"
@17 as a Guy player I want to note something.
No it's not difficult to create crazy pressure stuff with Guy in SSFIV but if you have extensive experience with Alpha 2 and SSFIV you will notice that the window time for reversal in Alpha is strict and I mean STRICT, in a SSFIV match Guy would have been knocked silly if he attempted the same pressure moves on Ken in SSFIV.
It also helps that Guy is super fast in Alpha compared to his slow side in SSFIV. Guy is just a different character in SSFIV plain and simple so the whining is justified to a degree because he does'nt really play as they Guy you remember.
ahh the good ol' custom combo.
i remeber with shin akuma (SF alpha anthology) i used to make shoot fire balls like crazy lol. made him look like megaman lol.
@19 reversals in Alpha2 have a 1 frame window (except for reversal Supers, those have a 2 frames window i think)
Alpha2 Guy can cancel all his ground normals (crouching or standing, close or far - except for s.mk and c.hk) into his specials. he also has a very short recovery on his Run - Stop. these traits help him mount an immense pressure in the right hands.
SSF4 Guy is a bit underwhelming. the most upsetting things about him in my opinion: Run - Stop is not really viable and empty Bushin Flip has recovery on landing and cannot be used in mixups :<
@Shonuff
Said like a true Guy player. Guy got different tricks as a result of being able to super cancel. People rather complain or pick "easy" characters than putting in effort...profound sadness I tell you.
Once I can borrow my friend's camera, I'll be able to upload some stuff for my Profound Madness sessions just to give these whiners to shut up about Alpha Guy.

Thats a video of the same guy putting pressure on a ryu player, and guy is alot better in AE
Guy in AE
God what a bunch of scrubs. Street Fighter has been sh!t ever since they released that bag of crap Street Fighter II.
REAL fans only play the ORIGINAL Street Fighter. Everything after is money-grubbing garbage.
Seriously, though. Get over the fact that you can't win at SSF4. It's due only to your inability or disinterest to work with what you're given. To blame your losses on anything else is the definition of "scrub". I'm no pro, but I know that when I lose, its due to my lack of focus and skill, not the game's lack of precision. SF4 isn't perfect and was NEVER GOING TO BE PERFECT, but it was given a lot of attention to detail. It's fan service, plain and simple.
And no, I'm not saying Capcom DOESN'T want to make money off of it, of course they do. They're a business. Try to remember that it doesn't make much of a difference when YOU talk sh!t about SF4 and say how much better SF3 was. Capcom doesn't make games just for YOU, and there are a ton of people who love SF4 (almost as many who bash it, but can't stop playing it).
You hate SF4? That's your business, and I can assure you, no one cares. A small bandwagoning chunk of the fanbase isn't going to change the series, and if they DID, it'd be in dire straits.
Don't get me wrong, I loved SF3 like nobody's biz, but you know something? That game was FAR from perfect. The day you see anyone but Ken, Yun, and Chun at the top of a tourney, you let me know. But you know what else was going on back then? Split fanbase. People who preferred SFA or even SF2 over SF3. Back then, for some people, SF3 was SF4: New, and threatening to the status quo.
But hey, for anyone who doesn't think any other fighting game is worthwhile, we're getting 3rd Strike HD, which I am just as happy about as when HD Remix came out.
tl;dr - Shut up and stop fearing change, you turkeys.
I always hated Sodom, but it's been so long since I've seen him that I actually missed him a little. Still don't want him in any new games, but it's cool to see him win.
Also, I liked that he sounded like Randy Savage trying to speak Japanese.
Also I noticed the Bushin Chain is a whole lot better in SSF4 while Alpha Guy is able to dash-stop after damn near all his normals. Like I said I really like both versions of Guy. Sick character.
He's not that much better in Arcade Edition. That Ken in the video with Nox2 pretty much held the momentum in all of those fights and Nox had to pull some superhuman stuff at times to win. Guy is work, but it's fun if you love using Guy and he does have the potential to beat any character in the game.
SODOM FTW!
