SumoSlamMan has put together another handy analysis guide for Marvel vs. Capcom 3. This one covers Spider-Man.Specials — Web Zip
Spider-Man’s pseudo 8-way air dash. Spidey shoots a bit of webbing at either an upward or downward 45 degree angle and you can do it either forwards to apply pressure, or backwards as an escape (Video 2 – 1:41). It can be cancelled by attacks, and used from the air or the ground (Video 2 – 1:41). Much like Amaterasu’s 8-way air dash, the webbing needs to hit a surface before he zips so if you’re firing it far away make sure you’re safe.
It does a little bit of damage on hit (Video 2 – 1:41) and it stuns for a hot second which might open up some combo opportunities, but I see this move as a way to close the distance and really apply pressure.
As always, you can find a full index of SumoSlamMan's MvC3 analysis articles here on the EventHubs.com forums.

Nobody cares about Spidey...Kinda like Niitsuma's team.
The launcher should be his flip-kick not a version spider sting.
BTW why would you do that move when do a air-combo does more damage?
Web-throw? Better do good damage because it's pretty slow.
^ I've had every vs. that's had Spidey in it & I've mastered every character in those games & beat my brother down lots of times with them & had a 50 win streak each time but then tragedy strikes when he pulls out Spidey & comes back with a 130 win streak out of nowhere. The dude becomes freaking unstoppable I mean I could have the most god tier group & it means nothing & destroys all when he picks Spidey from Marvel Super Heroes to MvC2 it has been nothing but sadness to me & my friends that's why I say it's not how good his moves are but rather how good the person is using him. I not going to lie I fear Spider-Man no matter what characters I use I fear him in my brother’s hands. I don’t know if it’s a combination of my Bros reflexes or what but I dread fighting him MvC3 on the 15th of next month.
I'm not going to pretend, this was basically a gimme analysis to get me back into the flow of things :/ I do hope he's playable competitively though. Go balance!
I played some spidey in MvC2, and if All the god tiers were not in MvC2 he would have been alot better off. Whats funny is that spideys normals were actually pretty good and easy to set up into super combos, but his low health and Pretty bad special moves killed him for me you know? Glad for Max Spider and anti-air web throw, now we just have to see how BA the anti-air grab really is. HYPE for MvC3!
