Marvel vs. Capcom 3 previews from CVG, Ready Up

A couple new Marvel vs. Capcom 3 previews hit the web recently. Both offer up a few minor details, but probably don't say anything that's going to blow you away. The first one, from ComputerandVideoGames.com focuses a lot on the melding of these two franchises, here's a clip.

Even something as insignificant as alternative costume colours are given care and attention, with alternates being based on costumes from the characters sported throughout the different comic book eras.

The faithfulness to source material even extends to interactions during battle, with characters being aware of who their teammates and opponents are and making references to any significant relationships.

Pick Iron Man, Captain America and Thor and Iron Man will start the battle by ordering The Avengers to assemble. Play as the Hulk and tag in She-Hulk and Bruce will call her Jennifer, making reference to their family connection. Put Ryu up against Spider-Man and he'll kick off the fight by saying "I hate spiders," while Spidey retorts with "You must have a black belt in stupidity if you think you're going to beat me". It's these small details that suggests that the game will appeal to an audience much broader than its predecessors.

If the characters have some kind of story based relationship they will address them on a more personal level. For example, Wolverine will call his clone and surrogate daughter, X-23 by her real name, Laura. She in turn will call him Logan. Similarly at the start of a match your team leader’s face-off comments can be affected by the make up of your team or the first opponent. I urge you to build an Avengers team led by Captain America and check out Felicia’s comment on the state of Dormammu’s head. I’ll not spoil any more as there is real joy to be had finding them yourself.

This does bring an appeal to the fans and the audience. This game I believe is going to be a great 2011 game. I guarantee two thumbs up for me ^-^

As a fan of both companies this game has honestly been a joy to see. The amount of depth in the characters interactions and costumes is something that I greatly appreciate. Its shows me that they care and that they know that true fans are playing this game. This game is a dream come true and I couldn't be more happy with it.

I love the little details they made in the game. Like Iron Man shouting "Steve!" when tagging with Capt. America etc.
