I really like how they put simple mode into this game. I can understand why a hardcore would dislike this, but seriously guys, fighting games is a genre with one of the highest learning curves.
For a large mass of the population, there are many of you who play fighting games with friends who don't play them and don't even want to bother. I understand how painful it is to watch your friend spend 10 minutes trying to do a SRK motion and give up and say "Let's play Reach/Black Ops." I think this is a great opportunity to get more people seeing how fun these games are without having to have a high learning curve.
Besides, most can agree that when they first started playing Street Fighter or another fighting game was "How do I shoot the fireball/do a special move?"
#5 I agree. Being the only person in my group of friends that gives a damn about fighting games it's disappointing to play about three games of any fighter before they sarcastically say, "Hey how about lets play something we're ALL good at?"
@5
Yup. My nephew sometimes has a hard time doing the inputs, too. I remember the first time playing Guilty Gear with him, he had the hardest time doing a Gun Flame with Sol Badguy. He's gotten much better since then.
Regardless of the level of play, we still have a blast with these games!
#5 is on point.
#9 Most people (aka people with jobs/lives/real life interests that matter, bka the people that actually fund games to be made) don't know or or will ever care about frame data/tournaments/x tournament player, they just want to have a good time using Wolverine to chop up Ryu. Not everyone has the time to waste to study up on video games all day.
And it's totally understandable that they want to play a game where everyone has a fair chance to play/win, instead of the one friend that stays stuck to a couch wondering what daigo/tokido thinks is cool so they can be the first to latch on. Why do you think SF will never sell like any Call of Duty game despite how fun it is?
On a lighter note, I can't wait to play this game, it looks insanely fun & hectic!
Nice....
