i hate achievements and the concept of them this generation. But what I do love is playing every character in the game with at least decent knowledge. I can't imagine only playing 1 or 2 characters as fighting games would get old fast. I still have my mains and some characters im better with than others but overall its satisfying to change playstyles just for fun, not even for these 'achievements.'

This is the only task keeping me from a Platinum Trophy as well, though in my case, it's a lack of internet at home keeping me from getting it. I'm sure certain characters will be harder than others, but I'm a good way in right now since I play a lot of characters as it is. It can be fun/rewarding to be a trophy/achievement whore sometimes.
This was the first thing I did in SSF4, although not for the achievement -- I wanted to see who I was 'best' with in win/loss ratio once I leveled everyone up to C. The lucky winner would be my new main.
Then I finished and Blanka/Vega came out on top, so I said "eff it" and went back to maining Gen.
I've been doing this myself and I'm about halfway through. It's surpisingly been a lot of fun. I don't necessarily learn alot, I'm pretty mercenary about the whole process and just repeat whatever seems to work at low-level play. Haven't had to go at it for more than 40 or so games with any character yet, and with the no-brainers like Bison it only takes about 20+ tries.
77 games to get DeeJay's C rank though... ouch!

Sweet, a few friends and myself plan on doing that as well. Should be fun laughing at each other as we inevitably f*ck up a 'few' (read: MANY) times.

Ha, brilliantly edited series of videos. Dee Jay was the last character I ended up using for C to C and ended up absolutely loving him. More achievements should inspire players to learn more about the game; it's become miles more fun now I don't play 1/2 characters exclusively. I'm currently trying to get all characters up to B, but it's probably gonna take quite a while.

No thanks I'll stick to my two characters that's enough. Besides I'm way to lazy to do this, I haven't even beaten arcade mode with all the characters yet.

A few things I learned during: (1) Bison is OP. (2) Guy and Ibuki are hard to play and I will likely never touch them.

This, among some of the other online achievements, are all I have left. Except, I won't get them because I stopped playing online. After playing offline, with solid competition regularly, playing online is just awful. I'll be happy with my 900+ gamer score for SSFIV until AE gets released.
He's picking Deejay though which shouldn't be too hard lol unless you're using like viper or a character with super bad matchup. Also, some of the matches he deserved to lose cause he taunted when he was about to win o_O. Wouldn't have to lose as much if he didn't do that

@13, Theres some people who like to squeeze every bit out of a game, like me. Im a college student, so I dont get to buy games alot, things like this keep me from being bored. I pity you for pitying.

Achievements or trophy have been around ever since the PS3 and 360 been out which was like 5 years ago. Achievements/trophys are still young. there has never been other generations with this type of tech bro.
If you don't like trophies then don't do them. Why go around calling people nerds or bother bringing up reality as if trophies have anything to do with social life? It's called a challenge for fun people...something some of you uppity @$$ snobs don't get.
Pretty ridiculous seeing how the people bashing achievement seekers are the same ones that sit around playing pocket pull to frame data. Pff...some of you elitists ruin this community when you're not even that good.
Just got this achievement myself. Had to do it with a team of my friends as we just handed the controller around playing until all the characters reached 1000. It was a lot of fun, plus we got to learn an incredible amount about each character.
