• The release date for the BradyGames Marvel vs. Capcom 3 strategy guide on Amazon Japan's website is listed for February 4, 2011, meaning we should know the full roster a few days earlier than was previously listed (Feb. 8). Also, the guide will weigh in at 352 pages, so it's a pretty fair size. Via マブカプ3新聞.
• Kevin Sharpe, who was often blamed for the Galactus and Taskmaster Marvel vs. Capcom comic leak posted another rebuttal on his blog.
• Jeff Schaefer uploaded a couple more video blogs (Part 1 | Part 2) announcing that he's going to start playing Super Street Fighter 4 again, but only for fun. Schaefer is one of the legends of the community and it's really awesome to see him coming back in any capacity. He also shares his thoughts on the SF4 series and other gaming stuff. Sent in by JDragonX.
• Fighter101.net has a new video tutorial for Balrog (Boxer) in Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo showing how to Renda Cancel into his Super.
Wonder how Seth Killian would feel about Sharpe calling Shoryuken a "hack site." He really should stop with the rebuttals. They don't work and they just make him look immature. If he really wants to make a positive impression on future employers, he should write professionally and avoid internet slang altogether.
Calling other publishers trolls makes you sound like a jackass.
On the other hand, Shoryuken clearly implied Sharpe was responsible and they should have re-written the damn update accordingly.

Actually, a man's reputation is key. If you don't have a good rep, it can really hurt your future. I admire Mr. Kevin Sharpe for fighting. It's the principle of the matter.
Sure things might seem like they blow over, but a lot of companies now do background checks on their future employees. He's an artist who is trying to make it to the top. If a future employer decides to google his name, which I know a lot of employers do before hiring, and they see him related to "LEAKING" a very important story. Then they might reconsider hiring him.
I think what you guys fail to realize just how important a NAME really is. We are all anonymous so we can say whatever we like. But not him [Kevin Sharpe]. He has to fight for his name. And whatever action he takes, I hope he wins.
@6
I mostly agree, but he could approach the matter more professionally. I would never recommend using the term "troll" in a legal rebuttal.
Is it just me, or does it look like Kevin Sharpe is confirming the crap out of these pages. He's saying a team mate did it, and he's ultra worried about it. "Kevin Sharpe confirms characters through whining" would probably make employers even more upset than the other.
I have nothing against the guy who is protecting his name, good luck to him.
All I can say is that all this anger and going into a tizzy must mean the leaked chars are in the game, otherwise, this wouldn't be such a big deal.
EXACTLY. He doesn't seem to comprehend that this isn't about libel. The more he bitches and moans, the more valid this "leak" becomes. He himself only refers to it as a "leak." If it's not important information, it wouldn't be a leak. Fighting to clear your name is fine and dandy but the way he's doing it makes him look a douchebag AND hurts Capcom by validating that these are in fact "leaks". I wouldn't hire him based on that, not because his name is attached to a leak that his previous employers can confirm wasn't his fault.
And Shoryuken didn't hack report. They reported that Sharpe "allegedly leaked". That means "he may have leaked" and I see no reason to rewrite an entire article if they didn't report anything false. They acknowledged his rant-fest on DA. So their viewer base can easily identify that Sharpe didn't do it. What else does the baby want? A giant singing "I'm sorry" card?
i think we will know the full roster by this month.
@11 The thing is that his co-workers opened an account in his name to protect their own identity in order to leak his work. Maybe someone jelous of him, disgruntle possibly we don't know the inside details but based on his "WHAM" statement Im assuming thats just what happened.
It's not uncommon for people to pretend to be other people to either tarnish someones name or start some controversy. It happens to people all the time even ordinary folks. There are people that make Youtube accounts pretending to be other people to try and get them in trouble.
Honestly ask yourself this, why would I leak sensitive information out that im trusted to keep? For what purpose? For what gain? I believe Kevin because he is a talanted artist with a good reputation that has no history of distrust. Now all of a sudden it's an issue.
It's unfortunate but the internet is like one big world party where you start gossiping about one thing and by the time it travels all across the globe it comes back to you as something completly different.
srk.com and the other sites better becareful you don't screw with another mans career not at times like this. srk and other gaming sites think they are so invincible, they can be sued on damaging a persons personal image just as much for discrimination. It happened before it can happen again.
The only other way he could force these people to retract their story or delete his name from the aricle is to go to court. If he wants to prove this will potentially hurt his rep / career, then go back to previous employers he have worked with and asked them (in writing and notarized) how they stand on this in regards if they would rehire him in the future. If it's a "not so likely" answer then there, proof is in black and white. Writing another rant or PO message on his website is not going to convince other people, who doesn't visit his site, that the leak wasn't done by him.
Ok. I'm going to make this clear. I don't believe Kevin posted any images nor I believe there is an issue with clearing his name. Anyone who cares enough to follow this know he's an innocent man.
THE ISSUE IS: The way he is so aggressively defending that he had nothing to do with the leak does nothing but support that the leak is true. Had we just seen images, there would always be uncertainty in our minds. Was it fanart? Maybe it meant nothing. But now he's so "holy crap it wasn't me" that it begs the question... "If the images weren't important than why would he make a fuss about who posted them?"
He wouldn't. He doesn't want to have his name attached to such a sensitive subject because the images are significant. They are leaks.
I don't care who posted them. Going on a crusade to announce who DIDN'T just validates the legitimacy of the leak.
And now Capcom, who he SHOULD have let handle the clean-up, has two months of announcements spoiled. And why? Because of this tard.
He wasn't at much risk of hurting his reputation had he kept his mouth shut. Now he looks like a whiny moron who flies off the handle and attacks the very community he works for, not to mention displaying an inability to think from a corporate standpoint. He won't go far with that.
Had he never commented on all of this, my lasting impression would have been "Hey, cool art." Now it's "Oh, that guy's a jerk."
