Update: Newsarama has since corrected the story they originally posted which said Frank West would be in Marvel vs. Capcom 3, saying the error resulted from, "lack of sleep, 3 days stranded in a foreign country (literally), and downright wishful thinking."Time to get taken for a ride once more. All-new character models, bigger, splashier attacks, and a new gameplay mode to get beginners into the fight make for a great sounding game on their own. Add in a roster that sees both modern and classic Capcom characters from Ryu to Frank West, plus Marvel all-stars like Deadpool and Captain America and you have one highly anticipated video game. Oh, did we mention online play and a story written by comic scribe Frank Tieri? It's no wonder the subtitle of this game abbreviates to FTW.
This doesn't rule out Frank West being in the game, it was just an error that he was listed in the write up in the first place.

Newsarama really doesn't know jack about video games and they certainly don't research video game related things when they put them in articles. It's entirely likely a slip up or an assumption that Frank is in the game back when his silhouette was floating around.
This means entirely nothing.
As far as it looks it doesn't mean jack but I really do want to see Frank in the game. My Zombie-Killers team needs you Frank!
(Please yes! Jill won't have zombies and Frank West is on the same tier of awesomeness as Viewtiful Joe and Arthur!)
newsarama is a huge comic site. prob talks to marvel a lot and prob got word about frank being in and slipped up and put this in the story.

Yes, that is true. Foools said that Frank West plays an integral role in the story, so it would make sense that Newsarama might have heard about him in the comic storyline.
That is, of course, considering this isn't some dumb assumption and is instead a legitimate slip up.
Well any news is good news I guess. I never counted him in or out the game. If he is in, hopefully he will be better then his TvC playstyle. I don't think I can take another "Oh my God" so annoying when spamed lol.

I donno about that. If they deconfirmed Megaman early, there would be a crap load of fan rage that would derail the hype train.
I don't understand why people refuse to believe Frank is in. There's the silhouette, helicopter pilot from episode 2, and the ESRB summary FOR him, and nothing but some nonsensical "leak" AGAINST him. It's foolish to place your faith in the lesser of two evils just because you feel like you don't have a choice, but have the sense to open your eyes and see what Capcom allowed you to see (everything except the ESRB summary).
@22 even though your right, Lupinko is our lord and saviour we must worship his every word without refusal. If we deny his great teachings then we deserve nothing but to have our genitalia removed in the most harsh manner. I think his list is right just incomplete.
I dont believe frank west has been cut for the same reason I dont believe megaman has been cut: they're too damn popular. Why would capcom NOT put these two in? especially with megaman universe coming out, it would be the perfect time to promote him. and with dead rising 2 going multi platform it's the same for frank west. They're simply saving the best for last. and If they werent in they would have been long since disconfirmed. They didnt seem to mind the "fan rage" that came with teh exclusion of Megaman X, Phoenix Wright, Gene, strider, which are some of the most popular and most requested characters. Just sit back and wait. They're coming.

See, I think Lupinko's list is right too, but you're correct, it just seems unfinished. The remaining characters on the latest leak list make perfect sense. Elektra stage is already in, multiple sources hinting at Frank, no Megaman presence in the game or anywhere else, etc.
Plus, didn't Capcom say to expect at least 40 characters? ( i could be wrong about that). Lupinko's list only had 38.
@20 the point of deconfirms is give fan rage time to die down. People got tired of complaining about megaman x(well most people). I would think they wouldn't want fan rage right before the game comes out because that is when people actually decide to buy the game or not. They don't want people hyping up people who are not in like ghost rider.

Frank isn't in this game. Newsarama didn't secretly talk to anyone at Marvel about the game. They don't report on MvC3 news except to repost videos and stuff other sites link to. There is no secret MvC3 comic series (those pages are from the pack-in) and the shadow doesn't mean anythin when Capcom has specifically said that some of the characters in the shadows aren't actually in the finished game.
They know the same way we know: his silouhette's been broadcast all over the friggin' news! We only doubted it when some clown with an access to claimed he caused Ram problems. Frank West! In a game full of Super screen-filling lightening hyper attacks! A guy who calls for shopping carts and zombies!Frank West, who Capcom said they wanted to jam in just about every game they could! They can spent the effort of 3 characters on Deadpool, but can't muster up enough resources to bring back Frank West, even though the intention to have him in was clear from day one? And we're weighting all that against, what? Some guy who said he isn't in?
It reads "From Ryu to Chris Redfield" when I checked the article 30 seconds ago.

Look if Frank West is in it then yay or if he isn't then yay. I have already paid the special edition of MvC3 so I am happy with any character from now on. With that said, i still think Frank has a good chance of being in.
Looking over at Lupinko's list, there are only two more character reveals left, since characters are revealed in pairs. That doesn't make too much sense since we still have six weeks left, I would think Capcom would have a better sense of spacing out their reveals if that list were 100% accurate.
We'll see I guess.

We know there is a third Darkstalker from the achievements and there's a freaking achievement for having Akuma and Ryu fight each other. And why would this fake list contain SO MANY CHARACTERS that are clearly in the game? And also the last boss who is also in the game?

Totally agree, i havent seen this much hate and bad mojo since Indiana Jones And The Crystal Skull. Seriously, stop complaining, let Capcom do it's thing, do you really think they wouldnt put in Frank West or Megaman? Thats like saying Ryu or Dante couldnt make the list cause Ryus Fireball is "Too laggy" and that Dante"Couldnt be implemented cause we didnt know how to make his guns work in the game". How would Nemesis change the ESRB rating. I mean I can understand Tyrant on account of his external heart but how is Nemesis any worse that Chris or Wesker. I'm calling shenanigans on that one.

Thanks cvs but that's not my point. That particular blurb has been in that wikipedia article for months. I'm having a hard time figuring out WHY exactly Nemesis in particular would change the ESRB rating. It has a rocket launcher like Chris so it can't be the weapons. It has tentacles like Shuma Gorath and is a grotesque monster like a few in the cast already... Like I said I'm not seeing why Nemesis was left out. Shenanigans. Also I don't remember Tyrant changing the ESRB rating of Marvel vs Capcom II. Shenanigans.

Seriously its sad to see that everyone just hates every character disclusion/inclusion in this game. I havent seen more hate for something in a long time, it is kinda a mood kill for people who actually like MvC3 and how it is shaping up.
"A guy said some things" is not evidence.
"Achievements and leaked comic pages supporting a leak that has shown to be entirely accurate so far" is far more evidential than that. I'm not sure why you'd think that list Lupinko gave was partially accurate as opposed to fully accurate given the time remaining to release. Maybe the 40 character count was counting DLC characters!

I just think it would be HORENDOUS if Frank or Megaman are not in the game, and Capcom knows it. They probably are waiting to reveal them last so that it creates massive hype, we knew that Zero and Arthur would probably make it, but the reveals created so much hype anyway once they were revealed. If they turn out to be DLC i bet they planned that too knowing that we would totally buy the DLC for them. They Will be in, its just a matter of when Capcom decides to let us know.

All I can say is, is that people that keep going "Megaman won't be in this game, period!" are going to be looking like fools once he's confirmed later on. They're just saving the best for last, that's all there is.
It reminds me of Tekken 5 & who the time-released characters were going to be in that game. I remember the anti-Heihachi fans kept on going "Give it up guys, Heihachi won't be in this game, he's dead!", all because they assumed that he was dead because they were only paying attention to what has been shown in the Tekken 5 opening. But who was the character to be released last in the Arcade version? Heihachi.
I get the feeling the same thing will happen here with any version of Megaman &/or Frank West.
Lupinko has only been right on stuff that was already revealed he hasnt been right yet about anything except the possibility of galactus and taskmaster and plus there is an achievement called mega buster so if achievements are your evidence then megaman is in even tho I think the achievements are just homages to other series' and characters in both universes megaman is the Mario/Pacman of capcom people thought spiderman wouldn't be in the game because of activision and all that bs so I think megaman will be revealed mid januarary

He was right about Jill and Shuma-Gorath. And he was right about Viper being in along with ex moves and focus attack. These were all predicted before the announcements for the characters were made.
well if C.viper was in, did you really think they wouldnt give her EX or Focus moves? Shes the Rep of SF4, they would have to put those in for her anyway. It may be wishful thinking, but i dont put faith in leaked lists till the end. Guess waiting is all we can do.

Also, I wouldn't mind Ms. Marvel being in the game. So I don't really care if it's true or not. Personally though, I wish Emma Frost would have made the cut. She is such a badass in the comics.
