Reminder: Marvel vs. Capcom 3 costumes, Shadow Mode out tomorrow

On March 1, 2011, new DLC costumes for Ryu, Thor, Dante, Iron Man, Chris Redfield and Captain America will be made available for Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Like SSF4's costume packs, this will sell for $5 on PSN or 400 Microsoft points on Xbox Live.

Also, the new Shadow Mode DLC — which can be grabbed free of charge — will be made available featuring three AI personalities to battle against, including the title's producer, Ryota Niitsuma, Assistant Producer Akihito Kadowaki, and a QA team leader.

It's good the shadow mode is free because there is no way I am reliving the dlc nightmare of paying for costumes for this game. Only dlc I will possibly pay for is Mega Man X and M.Bison. Stop trying to milk the community Capcom!

The costumes look pretty nice but i do not get why Ryu's hair is red and he is wearing red shoes. He looks kinda gay and it takes all seriousness away from Ryu. His alternate should be the torn Gi like his alternate 1 in SF4.

@10 that's the iron patriot costume Norman Osborn wore in dark avengers.
I refuse to pay for costumes that will be lowered once they release all others and then drop the price and sold as a package. Vergil should have been his own character. I'm surprise captian America didn't get buckys costume.

Ryu's costume is his Street Fighter 1 look. He looked slightly different in Street Fighter 2 and he's been that way ever since. I suppose they felt instead of taking one of his alts from SF4, they'd try out the only throwback costume he has.

For those of you who are confused and whiny, here's what all 6 costumes are:

Thor - Classic costume
Cap America - Captain Steve Rogers (his current look) with his old WW2 shield
Iron Man - Iron Patriot armor, look up Norman Osborn
Chris - Resident Evil 1 / Code Veronica look
Ryu - Street Fighter 1 look
Dante - His father Sparda

Anyone else thing they should patch fight request mode? I hate that after i play a rank match, im sent back to a loading screen, then the character select screen, then the fight into, then finally the match....its like I may as well just go back to the main menu for all that trouble...

What they need to add is an option to have a rematch in ranked mode. If I come across someone that wants a rematch we can just do so without having to create lobby and invite and etc. It would save time and be convent. I know I am not the only who hates the long saving time after every single match.

Zero already has his alt. colors be nods to the other Maverick Hunters. Look at his blue costume (2) and his 4th costume. That's Axl's colors.

Dante and Cappy are the only ones that look worth it. The others look almost no different from their originals in the game. Least the SF costumes looked like full costumes and not just reskins of the existing models...

People act like DLC is only a Capcom think. This gen everyone genre has had paid DLC fighters are not immune. Shadow mode being free is pretty cool, it will help expand on the single player features at no price why complain. Costumes are clearly optional obviously, and characters I mean it fun to play any and all characters and if I have to wait for them so they are optimized for this game and they are only 5 bucks I can't complain. It's the new business model for ALL games.

With the amount of character's there is, this is absurd. The amount of money all the costumes will cost. It's f-cking unfair, capcom.
You give us the game we wanted, you give us most of the characters people wanted... Because "the fans matter", and then you sh-t on all that claim with the, "you are fans? You want these great costumes for this game? Then get robbed. Thanks."

The DLC prices have to change. Period.

I'm glad I'm seeing the Old School Ryu costume from SF1, Thor's original costume, and Chris Redfield's RE1 Costume in the game. They all pay great homage to their respectful series.

And to all of those who are complaining about the price of costumes (cough#4cough), it's call a Job. Get one.

So is that how Vergil may look like in MvC3 and future DMC installments? Not really digging it. And yes I know that's Sparda in human form but him and Vergil look alike.

Anyway, I wasn't feeling Dante in DMC4, he just look like an old fart trying to look cool. ;P but, atleast they kept his DMC3 voice intacted. Hopefully they do the same for Vergil if he's ever brought back for this game and for future DMC installments. Otherwise their DMC3 selves will be missed.

another thing to keep in mind ins when you got the SF4 costume packs you got 10 colors with each costume as well. Do these even have alternates? And if they do you still only get 4. Seems like a LOT less bang for the buck than the sf series.

I really did want to like these but like I said already, besides dante and cappy, they look like just reskins of the original models with nothing extra added. Combine that with at most 4 alternate color schemes and this is pretty fail for the price.

100% agree with you.... The costumes should had already be in the game as alt. costumes and the Shadow mode(free) is a waste of space and my time... Overall, the DLC is getting of hand.. Hell, sooner or later, Capcom will have Online pass where if you buy a used copy, you have to pay 10 more dollars to play online... But as long as people dont stand up for themselves, the gaming companies will continue to milk the money from the consumers....

@Godpride DMC4 Dante is mad cool, I would go as far as to say that he's his coolest iteration. DMC3 is better than 4 though, by far. And why are you talking about Vergil even though you know that's not him they're trying to represent?

I'd like me some Vergil in that game, I think they could make a unique fighting style out of him. No flash, just pure effectiveness, maybe rely on counters or something. Much cooler than Phoenix Wright hahaha

If only I could understand what you just wrote. The first 2 clause seem to contradict one another. And I'm just going to assume that in your last clause you assume I'm a fan of the new revamped Dante for the sole reason I'm a fan of DMC3 Dante? If that's the case, then you couldn't be more wrong. The main reason why I prefer Dante in his DMC3 incarnation is because he acts as a foil to Vergil cool level headed attributes. With the current DMC4 Dante being more mature and more level headed and acting as a foil to the new kid on the block, where does that leave Vergil?

The character models are so small and the game moves so fast the costumes don't even seem worth it. There's too much stuff going on to really appreciate them. Maybe the costumes for the larger characters will warrant a purchase.

@64. As much as I really like Vergil, its just hard seeing him in the game. He'll probably end up being a Wesker clone (replace the gun with a katana). Deep down, I'd be extreamely happy if Vergil makes it in (that's a BIG 'if'), but I just don't see Capcom giving us Vergil =(

That was just on SF4 - £220 (thats $360)
and i loved spending every penny.

DLC is cheaper in US aswell because of the exchange rate, so shut the f*** up and get your wallet out

Shadow Mode is cool. I beat all 3 opponents. That 15-star guy is annoying. I can't imagine I'll easily beat any 20+ star people they add later...

@ 83 that's at least £60 you've thrown away.SF 2 Champion Edition only had two colours. The lack of alternate colours never impeded anyones enjoyment. The general vigorous defence of Capcom charging people for what should be given away free is unbelivable. Particularly when dlc increases "the base sales of the game", so releasing this content can and would yeild a profit without charging customers who have already bought the game.

dude, i just beated the three shadows without problems, i seriously doubt nitsuma is THAT bad, its almost like playing against a training dummy standing, the hardest shadow did fight back but not that much though, im a little disapointed, very hard is way harder than this shadows.
