is it just me, or is the damage coming from Jill and Shuma really weak? it must be because they're not final, right?
#2
Could be that they haven't fully found out how much their damage will be in longer combos, or that hitboxes are just terrible for their moves and it messes up their combos. Or it could be intentional. I hope it's because they're incomplete though, 'cause I'm considering picking up Shuma-Gorath if he's fun.
Shuma-Gorath is so awesome. I really want him on one of my teams, but the only thing that's hindering his spot position is the fact that he's a charge character.
I hate charge characters.
Anyone else notice that (obviously not in all ways) Jill = 3S Elena? Watch again and pay attention to her stance and her normals.
I don't care how good Jill is, her character model still looks horrible, and her moves look bland.....
@4
How do you know he's a charge character? as far as i know, only Chun li's birdkick and Hulks normal gammawave is a charge move.
And i hate charge characters too
@#2
It might be because they're unfinished, but the guy who made this video might also have the damage setting set lower.
@#7
I think Shuma & Jill are actually covered in the BradyGames guide, in which case, I believe he has 2 charge moves, and Mystic Smash is now a QCF. I haven't seen the guild myself though. Also I believe there's one other charge move in MVC3 besides Hulk and Chun-Li's moves, but I can't recall who. I hate charge moves as well.
"what you see is by no means final"
Right...except for the fact that they're already on the disc and there is already a strategy guide out there that gives a complete rundown of the characters and everything there is to know about them? I mean, if Capcom hasn't put out a balance patch for characters that people already have access to and are complaining about, why would they patch something about characters that no one has access to yet?
So we're endorsing hacking a commercial game now? Pretty soon we're going to start seeing torrent posts on the feed now. Oh, silly Event Hub "news" poster!
I have the guide, allow me to settle this charge thingy. XD
Charge moves:
Hulk Gamma Wave: <....> atk.
Chun Li SBK: dwn...^ atk.
Felicia Sand Splash: <....> atk.
Shuma Gorath Mystic Stare: <...>atk
Mystic Ray (New move,a beam that sweeps from at his feet to either accross the screen,up forward,or straight up,covering the whole screen on the H version): dwn...^ atk.
Shuma is looking decent in my opinion. Jill looks top tier. Also, her lvl 3 (according to the guide) is a status buffer super, making all of her movement inputs on the ground become teleports and the guide says; and I quote: "...certain special moves can be canceled into each other, which is the most critical part of this hyper. She can cancel (this part uses arrows, but im using notation) QCF+L xx QCF+M repeatedly until the timer runs out for huge damage." Basically, she has an infinite,Genei-Jin style. Borderline broken, imo, unless her damage is bad overall. I guess we'll see! If you guys have more questions about either character and you dont have the guide to answer them,PM me.
oh sh!t i didnt know cammy was in this game.... sweet ;p
Dude! they didn't have the original voice actor for Jill : /
Is it me or does that Jill player really really suck?
I saw nothing good coming from jill...
@#17
On the right side? I think that was a CPU, probably on easy. Or do you mean the actual player? He likely hasn't figured out very many of her tricks yet, and she's probably missing some moves that the full DLC will fill out. I think these videos do their job and give us a fairly good look. We'll see how the official Capcom videos look.
@ #5,
My thoughts too. Most of her moves look like they are similar to Elena's. Then again I'm not excited how they completely changed her. She doesn't play at all like her MVC2 counterpart. Then again I remember they said she wouldn't be. Well I still wonder what other DLC characters they have in mind. As the strat guide only has Jill and shuma mentioned with somewhat vasic strategy for them.
Shuma-Gorath seems godlike because he may catch an opponent very easily with his spike ball move and that move can link to attacks or a launcher like in this video.
But most of Jill's moves including gun super. *yawn*
#9 I suggest you focus some time on learning how to not be so ignorant. Yes the characters are on the disc. That does not mean they are finished. Any idiot can see that the characters animations aren't finished as well as voice samples. Your argument is that both characters have sections in the strategy guide but guess what? Capcom gives them the vast majority of that info. That's how they have all the Jill and Shuma info. Durr
Capcom put them unfinished on the disc so that the unlock key/download is as small as possible with most of the major info already on disc.
Shuma is looking beautiful, HIGH potential for a crazy mix-up game (Especially if his spikeball can crossup in the air. o.o)
As for Jill...no matter how many gameplay videos I see and how many fanboys support her, I still miss MvC2 Jill.
In RE5, I was SO upset with what happened to Jill in the first place, and having to fight against her was just...heartbreaking. Fighting a hero that has been turned into a monster. Then they put THAT Jill in MvC3...upsetting.
As of right now, I know Shuma has charge moves, Hulk, Chun, and Felicia. I don't believe anyone else does.
But yes, Shuma has charge moves, it is covered in the Guide, like everyone is saying. If they changed Jill and DONT put Frank in, I think people are gonna' freak out.
Jill's moves seem to suck basically because most of them seem to have no real hit box to them and seem to just do little to no damage. I'm really hoping that when March 15th comes around it shows Jill isn't a bitch just was broken due to people obtaining her by hacking
shuma is looking sick
