Hey, we never wanted Phoenix in a fighting game nor cared until TvC showed Artwork of him saying he was gonna be in but scrapped. That got the fans excited and here they are cheering.
Also Phoenix may be a lawyer but the guy did some abnormal stuff thats more than just average.

The idea is cool and it should be interesting to see his moveset if they do put him in, but at the same time other good more requested characters may get left out for it. I personally don't like Strider and don't care for him being in the game, same for Megaman, but I'd rather have them than Phoenix Wright.
@13 Okay here we go again. Comparing Mike Haggar with Phoenix Wright is like comparing a sparrow to an eagle. Mike Haggar is with all intents and purposes, a superhero. He beats down hordes of thugs at a time (including the monstrous Hugo) without breaking a sweat. He can lift insanely heavy objects (you try piledriving someone the size of Edi E. and the Andores), has been shot stabbed and, um, firecrackered and emerged no worse for wear. In fact I'm pretty sure that Haggar is physically stronger than all but Hulk and Thor on the Marvel side. So please let's not compare lizards with crocodiles here.
That being said, I'm happy for the P.W. fans that he's getting attention. If anything made it possible, it was fan demand. He may already be in the works.
Can't they just save him for TVC2? Bass.EXE, Megaman, Sigma, Strider, Frank or Chuck, Juri, and Bison all deserve a spot much higher than P.W.

Not that it matters, but actually Phoenix is not a lawyer anymore.
He got framed for forging evidence after Trials and Tribulations, so he started to work as a Piano at a bar while also becoming a Poker player.
He was basically a totally different character in Apollo Justice.
With that said, i also rather have Strider.
Phoenix Wright is more "punchy" than any other character from either company. He has no skills to speak of that would translate to a fighting game. I don't like how Capcom rationalized cutting characters for being "too punchy," but is actually considering the "punchiest" character of all.
Also, OBJECTION! would get old fast and being forced to hear 異議あり！ instead would get old even faster.

What is the point for complaining... There are still spaces left for other DLC characters and most people are spending pointless engery complaining about Phoenix Wright??? And all of this there are other characters that "deserve" to be in the game instead... Almost making it sound like Jill and Shuma will be the only DLC character for this game ever. There are enough goofs on the Capcom side already. And there are WAY cooler fighters that could be in the game in his place like Vergil who's a WAY better fit than this guy and has more of a reason to be in the game since there are only 2 representing DMC at the moment (Dante & Trish).

Bulls**it! Capcom lost their common sense when they added servbot to mvc2. That's goes for roll in TvC who fights with a freaking mop and a bucket of water, Phoenix has allot of weapons to use that were murder weapons and what not, Frank west fought with his weapons, so it's not that hard capcom can be creative.
Also Phoenix isn't weak, he got launched 30 feet in the air, only to be stopped by slamming his head on a pole,the he went to the hospital.............................because he had a spraint ankle, that Guy ain't normal.

Frank West was an ordinary dude...WHO BEAT THE HELL OUT OF THINGS IN HIS GAME. This is why he's suitable (somewhat) for a fighting game. If you can't imagine Phoenix Wright kicking ass in the opening movie, then he doesn't belong in the game.
It made me happy to see that Gene made the top 5 in the Capcom side of the MvC3 poll. He was up there with characters that Capcom wouldn't put in anyway because they can't (Strider) or have a character of which an existing roster member is too similar (Zero). At least Gene still has a fighting chance.

Its called Being CREATIVE people, its always the obvious choices cause they can fight but when something new,creative and unexpected happens you guys bash like little kids. Phoenix cant fight, so what? that doesnt mean they cant give him a creative moveset from his games.
Last gen there was a game called Pikmin and its sequel pikmin 2, it involved Captain Olimar being stuck in a planet full of pikmin, all Olimar did was throw the pikmins and they do everything. He cant fight right and useless right? Guess what happened? Nintendo use creativity and actually gave him a unique moveset in Super smash bros. and was he hated because he was original not fightable? No everybody appreciated it and loved the creativity.
Now everyone is being a bunch of babies because their favorite character isnt here and bashed on all the creative ideas and dont want anything new and different to be in. Think about that. Yes I want X and strider too but phoenix wright is unique and can bring allot of interesting stuff, so stop moaning and whinning, this is why games are thrown off. That depends on how his moveset will be, everybody is unique with a different fightstyle *COUGH*Notakuma*COUGH* so it really depends on the different peoples opinion on his fight style, we wont know till they make him one.
Anyone can have a good moveset. Capcom could make my balls a DLC character and they could be more powerful than Sentinel. Crusading Wright as the "creative" choice doesn't mean anything.
People have spoken. They want Strider and X. It doesn't help that Strider and X are infinitely better characters anyway.

There is no such thing as character slots. Capcom has been known to add characters on the fly given that the fan demand is enough. With DLC being more common, we'll see plenty of new characters. I just thing people are over reacting.

Reason i havent returned my copy is cause im waiting hopefully for a better marvel char or hopefylly a last minute change of the capcom personally im ova it now capcom has let me down on their chars for a while now so its wateva i juswas explaining the faults of the game ppl dnt care whateva i got my point across. If pheonix wright manages to become playable as DLC then it is what it is,but i wonder if all those people that want pheonix wright will actually not only stay with that character but will stick with mvc3 for the long run like people did with mvc2.Would we see those same people wanting to use him in 3,5,7,even a whole 10 years down the road,or would they just drop the game and move on to the next big or new game.

I don't know if you're trolling or not but MvC1 will always have a special place in my heart. It was the first fighting game I played since SF2 back in the mid nineties. I couldn't believe how awesome all the superheroes looked in the anime style. BTW who did the art for MvC1? They shouldve hired him for 3.

Well, there's gonna be fans for every characters so far. But what people need to understand is that certain characters are just not popular enough or fighting material. If you honestly use felicia and joe than good for you but that still just makes you and a few. Base on my online experience, characters with both fighting potential and popularity tends to be used more often. For example Akuma, Dante, Sentinel, and storm. You can't honestly say that you faced more Joes and Felicias than those kinds of characters. Which leads me to my point, Phoenix should be scratched from the development board. Characters like Phoenix and Frank are just there to represent there franchise but they do absolutely nothing to MvC3. They are joke characters that has no reason to be in MvC3. And the people that do want them are not the ones that are going to be playing this game for the long haul. In fact, most noobs I know who wanted characters of the sort already traded in there copies of MvC3 for other games. Capcom, big mistake.

Hey, you guys know Jin Saotome was a mech pilot before he was in Marvel vs Capcom? It's true. His only fight potential would have been attacking with his giant robot, which does not a moveset make. Unlike, Phoenix Wright, though, his game was a rarity that no one played. And there's some people out there soiling their doilies because Jin is NOT in this new game, despite him not ever having been in a video where someone screams something funny about a Basketball team.
And what's this "over more worthy characters" bunk? The first DLC is Shuma Gorath and Jill, and you don't see people giving them grief for being in the game before anyone. If there's one character I never, EVAR saw anyone request, It's the Gorath and blonde Jill.
You don't even know what characters they would want. Maybe Strider isn't any good in the new control scheme. Did you ever stop and think about that? Maybe they want to save some of them for part 4. Maybe their wanted for DLC list is so radically different from ours, we can't even guess who's next.
So, instead of poo poing on a character a lot of people want with lame excuses(because suddenly it's like Phoenix Wright is the only DLC character that will happen and people are already guessing how much play he'll get to decide if they should want him at all.), focus on the character YOU want.
This would be an amazing Level 3 super.

@ 134 Strider had a new game on the PS1. It was bundled with his old game. Called Strider 2 but on the face of the CD roms the titles were mixed up.
The actual Strider 2 game had images from the Original Strider game and vice versa. What a goof.
Anyway this isn't the end of the world, I really didn't see the point of adding Shuma and Sent but they don't detract any of my enjoyment of the game.
And it's about time MK has a new and great game to play. They've been churning out crap for so very long I was beginning to think they didn't know or care about fighting games anymore.
It started with MK Gold and continued all the way up to the crossover game with DC. Crap piled on top of crap.

When did Strider, X, and etc be deconfirmed from DLC. There is so far NO LIMIT to DLC characters so bashing on 1 you don't like is pointless. Also it really is stupid to think that the people who voted for Wright aren't "True fans". For a "Bandwagon character" to have over 1500 people trying to get a him in the game by doing petitions and etc then I'm pretty sure thats being a big fan of both game and company or just a huge coincidence.

Anyway, I made a movelist for Phoenix sometime when MvC3 was going thru "Suggestion" threads on Capcom-Unity, and one move involved a "Shun-Goku-Satsu" style, Lv.3 Hyper running grab that involved Phoenix using his Magatama.

"OBJECTION!": Anti-Air, SRK motion, light is lowest to the ground, Heavy is almost completely vertical. Speech bubble appears, deals..eh, moderate damage.
"Present Evidence": Fireball motion "Projectile" that has him throw various courtroom evidence from past games, like Hsien-Ko with past CAPCOM icons.
"Hold it!": Fireball reverse motion, slams desk down and then slams hand on it, creates groundbound shockwave similar to C.Viper's Seismo Hammer, (re)launch properties. The animation of the desk slaming down also has a hitbox, non-tech knockdown if connected, so shockwave can properly connect.
IT IS POSSIBLE, haters gonna hate, get the salt shakers ready.

The amount of DLC characters has not been said, and if Seth's latest comment is any indication, has not been determined. And his purchase is entirely optional. Surely you can see where this is going?

Capcom has a strong case of fatal insomnia. They need to freakin wake up. What in the world were they doing this whole time? Sleeping under a rock? How can they just sit by and watch post partners in development F this game up? And now that they have a chance to at least put the franchise back on track...they should take this opportunity to think things through. This game is like the DMC series in essence that they are both taking the wrong turns. And the reason why is because Capcom is essentially just "funding" the games now. The games are essentially developed by third party companies like 8ing. Anyways Here are the things that is wrong with the game:
1. Trying to appeal to mothers and kids was a big mistake.
2. Story mode sucks. If you are gonna talk about how great the storyline for this game is gonna be, at least deliver. What amazing storyline was Seth referring to?
3. Lack of options and modes. No spectator mode, no vs cpu mode.
4. Useless modes. How many of you have used the model viewing mode? What is Capcom thinking?
5. Horrible online. Lack of modes. Bad connection structure. Long loading and saving times.
6. Horrible roster.
7. Lack stages.
8. graphical bugs and glitches
I can go on and on but you get the point. IMO this game should be 6/10 or 7/10. It feels incomplete. It lacks development time. The menus btw are ugly. And the only reason why I'm giving this game a 6-7 rating is because it held onto the name MvC. I can see why many hardcore fans didn't cross over to this one.

im all for vergil i voted for him in the unity polls...with pw as well. i think they should give another sf villian some attention instead of bison. juri would be cool and give her some more attention to grow a larger fanbase but i would rather vega. for people that like charge characters it will be good to have one and finally vega can get some respect. all of ths is wishful thinking though and they would probably add bison in the end.

I'm just putting the idea out there that it IS possible for Phoenix to be incorporated into a fighting game. Be it in another TvC or MvC, it is entirely possible.
Of course, I would like to see old faces like Strider, or new faces like MegaMan X, make it into the roster, BUT I am also up for new ideas to be welcomed into the game as well.
Bison is a classic and more relevant than any other SF villain. Not only that but he's the only one who can hang with the big baddies of Marvel. Well besides Gill and it would be cool to have a SF3 rep. Though Juri might be awesome too...

Yeah, but just because Disney now owns Marvel, they have agreed to let Marvel function as they were, don't expect any unnecessary crossovers because of that. Again, they'll have to run that by Marvel, then Disney, THEN the KH team at Square. Don't put your hopes up on that.
When it comes to Strider, it's kinda more 'direct' to Capcom and not as many 'middlemen' when it comes to negotiations.
Strider has had his time in Strider, Strider 2, MvC, MvC2, SNK vs. Capcom: Card Fighters Clash, Namco X Capcom and Adventure Quiz: Capcom World 2, it's almost IMPOSSIBLE for them to just 'shove off' Strider.
If they worked at it, he WILL get to be in a game, maybe not MvC3, but in a game soon nonetheless.
