Well seeing the entire Top 50 should be incentive enough. Just the site was incredibly laggy for some reason when I first clicked the link (probably high traffic right now) so I thought it would do well to have the top 20s here.

This is true, but guaranteed that plenty of people involved with Capcom will at least see the results of this poll and the Round 2 polls, which could end up influencing decisions they discuss with Marvel. You never know!

To the 1110 people that voted Cyclops: I frigging hate you and your poor taste. Not only is Cyclops one of the biggest a-holes in the Marvel universe, he has no diversity in his moveset outside of eye lasers. Even the previous games had to make him a shotoclone in order for him to be a fighter. Now what does that tell you?
So not only did you essentially vote for another shotoclone but you cost more original character choices like Machine Man and Songbird a chance at being DLC. Again, I frigging hate you.
I also hate all 469 of you that voted for Ken. Again, there are plenty of original ideas for Capcom characters to be fighters and you choose to have another shotoclone over them? You have no taste!

I am surprised to see so many votes have been put to waste for a freaking lawyer without any fighting experience whatsoever. Seriously just give him a background cameo(if the she hulk ending wasn't enough) and leave dlc to characters who can actually fight. I must say though, i'm very pleased to see strider taking 1st place. Him along with bison and rolento are the characters i would like to see the most in the game, from the capcom side respectively.

THIS JUST MY OPINION (so overly sensitive ones dont get offended) but alot of the roster chosen for the actual game was a huge let down. 18 less characters than MvC2 I was expecting a more iconic roster...sadly it wasnt. :*(
X23, Taskmaster, Dormammu, Modok,Hsien Ko,Haggar,Zero, Evil Jill, Felecia and the overload of SF characters I still cant wrap my head around as to why they made it in over so many others. It's like they had to pick 2-3 characters from every franchise and not even pick half of the people fans wanted listed in the results of this poll. Like how can Haggar make it over Zangief? Hsien Ko over Jon Taliban? Zero over Megaman? 3 Resident Evil characters and no Tyrant or Nemesis considered? Trish over Vergil? The problem most people have is that some are asking for a non-fighter to be in a fighting game. Roll was mostly a joke character above all else, but she at the very least has seen some sort of action in past Mega Man games.
Phoenix Wright never fights in any Ace Attorney game. I should know, I've played them all. Hell, if someone asked for Dick Gumshoe or the Steel Samurai or something I'd be okay with that, but no, they want the goofy, passive lawyer.

The poll isnt even offical, but if Capcom did use this list for future DLC characters, they'll pick the highest. Theyre a company, they want money. They dont give a hoot if they dont pick your character.
Man some people just don't have good taste in characters these days. I think their reasoning is something else. Like for instance I think most of the people who are voting Gambit is voting him just because he's cajun and wears a jacket. Gambit is also one of those characters who was even hardly played, but for some reason people want him. People also complained about Capcom villains, but look at the votes, not one single Capcom villain even made the top 5, c'mon people where are you brains in this. Think also about game play, not just the character would be cool or just funny. I'm Phoenix Wright over Frank West? At with Frank West you have reference. Silver Surfer is at the bottom of the poll and he's Number 20, but think goodness he at least made it there in the top 20.
No Gill, No Urien, M. Bison on bottom, Sigma on bottom and Vergil on the bottom under top 5 this sounds contradictory. People complained about Capcom villains not in, but when it comes to voting they don't care about Capcom villains any more lol.Game play wise,you have to admit Cyclops is better than Gambit and has better moves than him. Cyclops is even more iconic than Gambit. Cyclops would be much more interesting in the game to match him up with the X-men and even Jean or Phoenix.When Justin Wong defeated the three god tiers with just Cyclops that says a lot about the character, he definitely needs to be in more than Gambit.

Capcom likes to do krazy things, unexpected things. They would prolly put like... Capcom's Pyscho Charlie and Marvel's Toad or some stuff like that. That's how they roll, that's what they do. Pff...Capcom fans proved once again that they have no ****ing clue regarding anything Marvel outside the game. Granted I love Psylocke and Gambit but there are more series than X-Men in Marvel's catalogue. 90% of the highest rated were X-Men.
As for Strider & Mega Man X getting love, serves those haters right. I would lol if they put Miles Edgeworth in instead just to p*** off Phoenix Wright fans despite most being so oblivious to the fact that no one BUT fanboys would pay $5 to play a character completely void of any presence or recognition on a major home console. Just so people know these are no guarantees that the top characters are going to make it because we don't know how many capcom plans add to for DLC, and what particular characters they are planning to be in. We also don't know how many requested characters from us they plan to put in either.
I can say this though, according to how Capcom has been planning things, it looks as if we are going to get new DLC characters in the middle of the month every two weeks. I guarantee that Capcom has already been working on see DLC characters even since last year, and some they already predicted what fans are looking for. If you see another announcement for 2 DLC characters for April, like in the middle of April that confirms that they already had plans even when they said they didn't.

Actually, I never said I like Frank West, technically I would care less if Frank and Phoenix Wright made it in. I kind of hope they don't but Frank would be better than Phoenix Wright. I was telling 146 that Frank would be Capcom's pick more than Phoenix Wright. Aparently he was until they had technical problems and Pheonix Wright was disconfirmed. It wouldn't surprise me if they decided to replace Frank with Phoenix Wright. If they did, I really hope Phoenix Wright would come with a lame Marvel character just so I wouldn't be stuck to buy him. Im sick of all of these absurd characters being put in MVC3. I swear if we didnt have ridiculous fighters like MODOK we'd have some badass fighters. I dont mind 1 or 2 silly fighters but when they are gonna put in a lawyer and pass him off as a fighter then some things are gonna get taken WAY outta hand.
There are plenty of true fighting characters on both sides that would be great choices with playstyles that would be interesting
For example Virgil or Nero from the Devil May Cry series.
Virgil would rely on blinding speed and precision attacks designed to get into enemy space and really dominate the fight. Nero would be able to grab enemies with his devil bringer and pull them in for some sword and gun combinations.
If people actually thought of FIGHTERS instead of silly joke characters this game would be full to the brim of very good fighting choices. As it handles I'll stick with my fighters of Wesker, Dante and Deadpool if Capcom put Pheonix Wright in I will straight up avoid and wait for a true fighter to step in.

I'm not THAT into Capcom modern games (to tell the truth I'm not into modern games at all)... Why? Because they aren't creative anymore!!! They're just a bunch of mindless blood guys with a bad guy face using weapons of unreasonable proportions! lol... Phoenix Wright can be a good addition because Capcom will need to be creative to make him "fightable"! Can it be a failure? Sure, it can (as MODOK was)! But it can be an EPIC WIN (as making Haggar piledrive Galactus was lol).

Capcom > Strider, Megaman & Phoenix Wright (yeah, exactly the Top 3 of the list... hell I'm pop).
Marvel > Thanos, Venom & Psylocke.
Sven said in his latest interview that the X-Men rights are not available anymore. If Capcom want any X-Men characters in the game they have to pay very HIGH price for them.
If we discard the X-Men from that list the top characters would be Venom, Ghost Rider, Carnage, Ms Marvel and Dr Strange. Please don't get me wrong! I really want Psylocke and Rogue in this game too but I think that Activision and Marvel are going to be a bitch about the X-Men.
Please.. enough with the Phoenix Wright stuff. He doesn't fit in this game. Whats he gonna do hit someone with his shoe? Jeez he doesn't fight, he yells.. I hope he doesn't get in at all. I'd rather see a goomba from super mario bros than him because at least they can run into you.
People are so stuck in the past! They vote strongly for old a** characters when there is a 100 more diffrent and better characters that can be put in the game. I like gambit, stryder, and venom but come on people, there time is up. Lets get some other exciting players in this game, like green goblin, doc. octapus, Gene (from godhand), Ghost rider, Virgil,! Think outside of your boxes people! Just like when I play SFIV, everybody wants to be Ken/Ryu but nobody wants to play Fei Long till Daigo or Justin Wong beats somebody's assets with them!
Barely any bad guys on capcom's side. Wesker needs some serious backup here. I though it was MvC, not marvel and Capcom vs all the marvel villains. They are even adding more with Shuma. The Capcom side is very underwhelming.
I'm surprised that Gene is so high though, he needs to be in to complete team clover.
I find it interesting that Phoenix Wright haters are calling Wright fans "juvenile", and yet the fans seem to be the only people in the comments who are posting mature responses.
Additionally, why is it no one can spell VERGIL, when apparently they're such big fans of the guy?
Both the marvel and capcom side look pretty good for dlc, though the better marvel picks seem to be scattered across the top 20 while capcom's best are all in like the top 10.
I could already see the OTG stuff for venom. Hopefully he gets some nice tools, maybe a cool lv3. Carnage could be a nice mix of Venom and maybe even Twelve.
But damn, this is more bad guys for a cast full of marvel bad guys. Where are the Capcom villains?
It's a shame that the picks that I really wanted aren't near the top. Doctor Strange and Jedah would have been fun characters in MvC3.

Mega Man X like Ken? Are you serious? I see you don't play this game at all. Zero is not a shooter like X. Sure he has some shots, but no way he can win a fireball fight against Doom or Iron Man or even Chris. X will definitely be a shooter with Zero's speed.
Juri made the top 20. So she could still be voted on. At any rate if one more SF character makes it in I hope its Bison. Cammy isn't exactly a powerhouse and Ken's a headswap. I mean do we really need another shoto? And Jon Talbain is the only DS character in the running. So hopefully he gets in.

this is a very good point.. i wanted him too but after thinking about it.. nightcrawler would essentially be teleporter + punches and kicks.. and wesker kind of has that role filled already.. and does a good job filling it.. even one of his hypers is very 'nightcrawler-y'
If both of the top threes got in the game, I would be very happy.
But personally, I hope Ghost Rider does get in, I've got a pal who wants to see him in so bad it hurts. Plus I think he'd be pretty awesome.
Btw Dormammu is pretty much Blackheart with a magic series instead of demon spam.
soooo.....in all the comments of you anti wright people only say he cant fight which numerous people have already proven that it doesnt matter. he can still make it in a crossover game, which is meant to be fanservice and fun rather then a super serious character selection. there needs to be wacky, unique characters in a crossover game. so please come up with a different excuse other then the hes a lawyer who yells/cant fight.

I don't see how X and Zero are being compared to Ken and Ryu. Besides, we already have Ryu and Akuma if that were the case.
I vote for Copy X from the ZERO series. He's kind of like X but a villain. He might as well rep the ZERO series if Zero is the rep for the X series.
I just hope that the DLC are not so expensive. I hope they sell them by pairs like, 600 MS points per two characters that would be great.
The thing about Phoenix Wright is that all he does is yell. He doesn't fight.
In all seriousness I don't care if Phoenix Wright gets in or not. Scratch that... I DO hope he gets in. There's just too many fans that want him in. But there are other characters (Jon Talbain for example) who bring a lot more to the table. Especially in a fighting game. Hell Phoenix has his own series while Jon hasn't been seen in a long time. Glad Mega Man X got all the votes he did. Best version IMO.
Too all the people who hate Frank West, or think he can't fight for whatever reason. He can obviously fight, if you have ever played Dead Rising Classic, when you level up you learn new moves, from jump kicking to round housing. Frank West, during his adventure in the zombie invested mall, learns how to karate chop heads off, properly decapate someone, act like a zombie, double larriat strong enough to kill multiple zombies in one hit and how to rip out someones guts out properly in one punch. So whoever thinks Frank can't fight, I'll let you know one more thing. He's covered wars, ya know.
Good list I wish Black panther and Namor (considering there are no fighter in mvc3 that use water based attacks) He would be perfect!

BTW I'm loving the hate/saltiness/flaming ( correct term? I don't know, I don't really care!) about Phoenix Wright being in the game. But its clear that fans want him in. I mean if he becomes DLC, you can CHOOSE NOT TO have him. Choice people, its all about choice. Just like life, you can CHOOSE TO BE HAPPY, unlike SOME people here who I highly suspect have HUGE self esteem issues. Not pointing any fingers here but just saying. All of the characters I would like to see return are in the top 20 for these lists. I just hope if they bring Bison back they redo him to be a good Vs character. Would really like to see Rogue and Cyclops return as well.

Spencer is barely brown and is mixed e isnt full black and okay so maybe storm but dnt forget thats 1 black char out of the whole mvc series of near 60 that have been in the series its clearly not enough i say at least black panther because he is the first black hero with his own comic and it makes sense for him to protect the world seeing as his kingdom owns the most high tech. Point is spencer is half black so that make 1 1/2 black chars out of the 60. Way more white n asain n multicolored beings but barely any blacks.
Capcom really needs a major villian besides Wesker. Akuma's all right, but he just beats people & take their names...& lives. Nothing more. Seth would be cool. He's a major villian with world domination plans. The Marvel side's stacked with hard hitting villins like Dormammu & Doom. Seth needs to get in. Bison...he had his time in the spotlight. Don't get me wrong, he's cool but its time to put in a diffrent villian. Seth fits the bill. I would suggest Gill, but SF3 characters were simply not considered. As for Marvel, I love Venom but its time for someone diffrent. Songbird & Ms. Marvel are great choices imo. This coming from a guy who's a fan of the vs series for a long time (since X-Men vs Street Fighter).
If you don't like certain characters then you should of got over 1500 people to vote for a different character instead of whining that a certain character (Phoenix Wright) has more votes on a NON OFFICIAL DLC poll. You can always vote for the other 19 entrees instead of whining about just 1.
On other news whoot the 5 I voted made it in the top 20.
I agree. M. Bison fits in perfectly with Marvel super villains. If he doesn't make DLC I'll be very disappointed. At least he got more votes than the other SF characters. Hopefully CAP sticks to their guns and leaves Ken out of this one. And Cammy, while popular, just doesn't seem like a good fit here.
Poor tastes on some of the voting, by the fans, but I agree with the list in general. Strider, CapCom, Mega Man (Any)and Bison are all great additions, but the likes of Ken, Cammy and Gene? Hm. Marvel's side, my only complaint is that it wasn't on the Marvel site, because they actually know what they're talking about. You don't vote for a character based on gameplay or cliches, you vote for the character. Most of the list I can agree with like Cyclops, Green Goblin, Iron Fist, Dr. Strange and Ms. Marvel. But Venom, Carnage and Gambit? C'mon. Who would actually buy Carnage and Ken in a two character pack? Or Gene and Gambit? Hm.
Most of my characters (Vergil, Gene, Venom, Ghost Rider, Emma Frost, and SilverSurfer) made Top 20 for both Capcom and Marvel except Dr. Octupus, Seig Warheit, and Alex. I'm glad Vergil, Gene and Ms Marvel made top 10. I knew Megaman X would do fine so I didn't vote for him.
