Desk had his Akuma MvC3 infinite video.
Akuma's infinite is [jump forward - Heavy-Tastu] x n.
It's important for the final kick of the tastu to connect on the way down because it has the longest hitstun. Although it is technically affected by hit stun degradation, even at its minimum, it is more than long enough to allow for another j. Tastu. Thus, enabling the infinite.
The 2 clips at 0:26 aren't set-ups as such but just show that you could tag your opponent with an assist full screen, and still wave-dash in and get the infinite.
Next up 'MvC3: Chun li Combo vid'.

Desk has impeccable fast execution skills so only players that mirrors his skill can execute such a feat; not the average players that are only going to play this game for few months and move on to the next best thing. In other words, Capcom should the game the way it is because it is fun that way, extremely fun. Catering to the casual players just going to make the game boring and charmless.
Too bad Akuma's not on my team.
Guess I'll just have to wait for the Zero/Deadpool/Taskmaster infinites.
I don't mind this, but I hope the other characters have similar potential. The future patches should only have buffs.
The counterpick to this is Team Midget.
Joe/Ammy/Zero
i've been playing this game since its midnight release. and on the first day i was excited. second day i was enthralled by the bullcrap that is the OP sentinel, wesker, dante, deadpool bullcrap. a day or so later i realized that X-factor in general can make ANYONE a god no matter how bad of a player they are. ... and now this.
for lack of better words i'd have to say this game is broken in general. alot of things need to be tweaked. for instance if xfactor just made you faster instead of ALSO doing significant damage. or some characters having random block stunning to where other characters can't even move or fight back because they are locked down in other words.
another issue is the character damage on some of them. sentinel needs to be slower for his damage or lower his damage and leave the speed. wesker moves so fast that if you keep attacking he doens't even need defense because some characters can't to anything about it.
this video is just a shining example of how this game in my opinion cannot be tournament worthy.
I really like the game, in fact I dropped every other game. But there are 3 things that should be fixed to make it infinitely better.
1. Mega Crash feature: I mean, I though it was supposed to be standard in fighters with such long and damaging combos (TvC, Blazblue)
2. Fix X-Factor: I say remove the speed boost, keep the increase in duration the less fighters you have left, and either
A: reduce the effect of damage scaling (like it already does) but no other damage boost
OR
B: no change in damage scaling and always like 125% damage boost regardless of X-factor level (some characters (Pheonix) in lvl3 get 230% dmg boost, plus the reduced dmg scaling, retarded)
3. Remove Sentinel: This won't happen obviously, but at least ban him from tournament. And since he'll be officially labeled as broken, maybe less kids are gonna use him online, making the game more enjoyable in general. Don't try to defend the fact that Sentinel is broken please.
i dont see myself having to "DEAL WITH IT". i know my thoughts are also shared by the pro community. its obvious to see. if the pro community doesn't support the game. the game will dissappear. so in other words. no embrace forces fixes from capcom. THATS what i'd like to see.
and SHwaffles your nothing then gutter trash! keep your comments to yourself. a broken game is NOT a fun game. you need equal fairness on both side. being FORCED to both pick akuma to be fair isn't fair on open choice.
inb4 SHwaffles moronic mvc2 retort
Im really starting to dislike this game the more I play it. I was so hype for it too, won the tournament, got a free copy, sold that copy and bought special edition. Got 2 posters i sold, and a crap load of capcom unity points. I played this game like 3 days straight with my friends, i dont even check event hubs and i come back and theres infinites, people calling sentinel over powered, which i just figured out is true and how OP the X factor is, which when brought to my attention.. is so true..
@ GrimXD
Yes, because MvC2 was a "VERY FAIR AND BALANCED" fighter that was "fixed" plenty of times during its 10 year life span. (Sigh...) If you want a fair and balanced fighter stick to SSF4 imo. :-/
"Deal with it", "Don't get hit", ect. are all mantras of marvel. Dealing with the "bullsh1t" is just a fact and there is no way around it. I wasn't flaming you, like you did to me, but if you don't accept marvel's nature then move on to a different game or go back to SSF4. Besides SFxT will be out in like 2 years so don't worry bro.
I'm not really not disheartened by the negative reviews. We knew there were going to be loops and 100% combos. If people don't like that, then they really don't like what the MvsC franchise stands for.
Unbalanced means the game is not competitive. To call this game uncompetitive is just ignorant at this point. No one knows what the characters are capable of yet. That's going to take years, and anyone who dismisses MvsC3 now doesn't deserve a good game.
If you don't like loops and infinites, you're not pro-balance, you're pro-safety. You want a game that doesn't reward execution skills. There's a game for that. You're welcome to play it instead.
idk why people keep complaining compare this to mvc2 were it was broken but in this game everyone has a chance and sentinal is not overpowered it be just a matter of time before people start learning how to deal with him as for the x factor it can get annoying but its like ultra combos in a sence its there to help u win if ur winning and if ur losing to make a comeback
@12 If your'e being locked down by rush..pretty much when you can't move. Can't you just do an advance guard?
@19...youre prolly one of those people online that I fought who builds meter for your final character which is sentinel.
Then poof outa nowhere you unleash X-factor and chip people to death. Sentinel is overpowered...point blank.
@22...interesting....I never knew that. Guess I'll try that in the lab.
I love salty kids new to Marvel.
Game hasn't even (officially) been out a full week. If you're trying to call anyone OP, or say it's broken, you're an idiot. Period. Give up. It sounds like you already have, so gg. Forget about taking the time to figure out how to get around problems. Don't hit the lab. Walk away, cry about how much capcom sucks and Sent never called after he raw dogged you, and go trade your game in for DAT TEKKEN.
I'm going to save my time, and just assume that you know the paragraph that was going to go here is a rinse and repeat of everyone else intelligent enough to compare this to MvC2.
@nododgy
Oh you're one of those guys who try to act manly like they are real OG MvC vets and all. If you deny the fact that Sentinel is OP, than you're pretty much the idiot around here (and most likely a tier-whore). Of course Sent is beatable, but that doesn't mean he's not retarded tier.
Anyone saying "deal with it" let me ask you this:
Did anyone have to "deal with" something like this with Street Fighter 4? No. Worst case scenario you were playing against Sagat.
@Bibuki
Like SF4 sagat broken or MvC2 sentinel broken (without x-factor), because if it was the latter I can understand. Sentinel is only crazy broken with x-factor. Solution? Fix x-factor and maybe reduce sentinel's overall damage by about 2%-4%. Small changes>>>big changes.
@ WiNGSPANTT
This is marvel not SF4. If you don't believe me go youtube some high level matches, starting with Demon Hyo vs Dark Prince. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aGoB_v...
I love how marvel is possibly the most misunderstood fighting game of all time. Seriously just "DEAL WITH IT" or don't play at all.
@#21 no im not one of those characters but i wont lie i do use sentinel but i dont do that cheap tactic and think about it anyone can be "overpowered" due to x factor not just sentinel
p.s wolverine and x -23 <3 awesome combo!!
Sentinel got a new move that some people have a hard time adjusting to.
"HYPER SODIUM FORCE!"
to anyone using the keep away/ runaway characters like trish, arthur, dorammu ill give thos epeople credit those charcters r hard to play with\ and @Shwaffles ammy<3 combo freak lol
I don't see any problem with thinking infinite should and could have been avoided via whichever method people have listed. Don't get patronize the folks who'd prefer a couple of tweaks in the game. Not wanting infinites is entirely understandable. Show some tact.
@#42 GrimXD
haha yeah I can see some characters have huge problems dealing with that. Some kid tried that tactic on me on my 2nd online battle. I was on my last character (Dormammu), and so I Chaotic Flame/ X-Factor/ Chaotic Flamed is metal ass to cinders haha
@4
*Facepalm*
That fad needs to end , seriously.
& someone mentioned [ Mega-Crush ] , yes , we do need that , badly.
Interesting.
It is so easy to figure out, yet people yell and point "overpowered" like that does something about it.
Also, "deal with it" is not like "it's there, now cry or something", no, I see it more like: "Create strategies to beat it to a pulp", that's what I do, and it's working.
It's part of the game, and makes it even more interesting. He is an obstacle and needs to be beaten badly and fortunately the rest of the cast are just enough bad dudes to crush him, with or without X Factor.
Besides, look at Akuma, he doesn't even try and Sentinel is no more.
¿Over powered? Welcome to CAPCOM's over-the-top fighting games, they are just that, always been. Now, play the game and have fun.
Hey Desk, I have a question for you: does Akuma's loop work on every one or just big hit box characters?
Lol, everybody needs to calm the %^&* down. Honestly people the game JUST CAME OUT, I have no doubt there's gonna be some stuff that needs patching but how much of your T_T is fixing anything? How about trying to find ways around it for now?
and +1 to DynaDASH.
My strategy against Sentinel? Hulk.....hasn't failed me yet.
I never bought that bullcrap about Brokeness equates to competitivness. It sounds like something coined up by some burnt out pro players and the community just ate it up.
Pro's use broken characters to win. There is no art to it, there is no legacy. There is only MONEY on the line and people use the broken characters to increae their chance to win money. Most of you guys on the other hand ain't playing for money, your playing for bragging rights, but whats to brag about if you and ever tom, dick and harry is playing Dante, Sentinels all day?
The other day I played my X-23/Task/Hulk and fought a guy who probably threw every cheap as hell character at me lead by his Dante, I eventually won 10 to like 5 or something and called it a day. He sends a message calling me a Bi^^h, I did'nt switch my character ONCE and beat him with a balanced team and he had some dirty tricks though he became predictable.
You play who you want but don't sit here and try to make a bunch of excuses for why a game should stay broken. Thats just dumb as hell. Do you really want your favorite Pro playrs to be random out by some scrubby ass kid who mashed the buttons just to get a win then Sentinel comes out and BOOm X-Factor IBEATJUSTINWOOOOOOOOOONG!!! Yeah thats reeeeeal exciting. (Note this is an example, use your imagination).
I say fix this crap, Nuff said.
It is so easy to spot out the sentinel users in the comments... There are ways to beat sent if you use your characters full potential, but the problem is there isn't much room for mistake or dropped combos. If you get hit once your dead. Then when sent users get smart they throw in a over head assist "akuma" and attack low with hyper armor down+med. Or have a low assist "deadpool" and attack high. Now that is when it gets really hard to deal with.
-I use wolv,ammy,hulk,
This game is beginning to look more broken than MvC2. Though It's probably more balanced than MvC2, It can still be more broken. Theres just to many infinites, 100% combos and chip setups, not to mention the X-facto...
When players get better at this game you are only gonna be allowed one mistake per character because of this, take 1 hit and your character is being killed by ONE combo. I don't see a bright future for this game in the competitive scene.
Capcom didn't care about balancing this game, because they think people like broken fighting games. You know why they think that? because people like to be cheap.
Wow
I freakin hate infinite loops and im sick of cheap ass Sentinel players!
This game needs a competetive revamp
We need character nerfs and we need lag fixing...NOW
Im sick of getting into a match and getting ripped to shreds by a sentinel user with sh*t connection.
Its getting to a point now were im fighting more sentinels on MVC3 then there is in the whole comic series.
I hate sentinel and I cannot believe he got added in favour of some actually decent marvel villains.
Hey guys, remember that time Justin Wong beat the crap out of a bunch of Sentinel players in a tournament last week? And you know, doing it WITHOUT Sentinel?
Quit crying and learn to play the game. Hell, even if Sentinel is broken, you still have two viable character slots.
@Otter_of_Death
Currently sentinel is broken with lv3 xfactor, because he's almost as fast as he was in mvc2 and deals insane chip. These guys are complaining about sentinel in general, which is the wrong way of looking at it. Solution = fix x-factor, but I prefer that the game will be out for at least a year before they do any drastic changes to it.
@73 yup another Sentinel user... no respect. And because 1 pro can deal with sent doesn't mean most people can. I guarantee sent users will lose half more battles without him. xfactor3 and sent is like fighter 2 more characters.
@76
You need to learn to beat sentinel. You can't just pick your 3 favorite characters and expect to win, your team needs good synergy. I can understand that lv3 xfactor is ridiculous, but you shouldn't be so quick to tone it down. Seriously, the game is not even a week old.
Shwaffles
But if that's the case, then that means you have knocked out the other two characters, and if you used your resources right, you yourself should have X-Factor to counter that (making you safe from too much chip). If someone has Sentinel in their team at all, you need to keep certain elements on reserved
@ Wolfeyes
Nonsense. Yes, if one person can do it, EVERYONE can do it. "I'm not as good as Justin" is NOT an excuse. Get good. You have all the tools to do so. Anyone who is going to scrub it out now before this game's real utility is discovered does not deserve a good game.
And for the record, no, I don't use Sentinel. My team is Zero, Ammy, and Hsien Ko.
For all of you that are saying Sent is overpowered, I just got a 31 won streak online with Ammy C.Viper and Phoenix. I beat plenty of Sentinels in that streak, and the guy that beat me was just plain better than me, h beat my ass with Wesker and Ryu. If you have an issue with Sentenel go look up strategies on how to beat him, he really isn't that hard.

All this hostility just because some people dont like your precious(MVC3)... Really? This is isnt 1995.. It's 2011 and we have this little thing called PATCH and MVC3 needs a lot of tweaking in my opinion.. Soooooooo, Walking away, Crying, trading in the game, is NOT my solution.
this game is so broken im not surprised. stupid x factors and damage scale being to high. this game should be called marvel n capcom vs sentinel lol glad we have a well made game in super street fighter 4
The way the game is right now Sentinel is broken. There isn't much you can get around the guy. He can zone everybody and get a free combo off his laser spits. I mean the game is still fun and all. Jwong did beat Sentinels in the Wednesday night fight tournament. Even still then Jwong says Sentinel is broken. Even Capcom admits the game is unbalanced. They intentionally did this.
I still play the game, but Sentinel doesn't even need a team. If you have this guy on your team it's almost guarantee win. Maybe a patch will come later on, I don't think Sentinel needs the super armor on his launch attack. And his club or what I call dildo has ridiculous range, you get a free ground bounce to aerial combo then OTG to super.
Keep playing guys, a patch will come sooner or later. It's 2011 technology is available for patches.
Am I the only one who thinks give Sentinel 200,000 more health and then make him a giant character like in TvC? Just think that'll be a pretty sweet way to take care of it-after all, Sent is meant to be a big-ass robot.
"Ugh.
First of all, there are legitimate infinites in MvC2, they're just nearly impossible to actually land. (IIRC Hulk has one in the corner)
(edit: example. If doing something like Iron Man/War Machine's infinites you have to get out of dodge at around 40 hits. However, special moves don't undizzy at the same rate as normal moves, so if you can comprise an infinite made up of only specials, which is usually impossible, you may be able to get it to do 100% damage.)

Yes.
Anakaris can do 300% damage in MvC2 (infinite into guard break into infinite into guard break into infinite). He is not overpowered. Removing his infinite would make the game worse (less balanced) because you're making a character who already has issues with being viable, less viable. On top of that, his infinite is hard to land against players who actually know that he has it.
That is reason #1 why this thread is retarded, as are most of the people complaining about the infinite: we have no idea how good Akuma is/will be in MvC3. If he doesn't even crack the top 10, taking away the infinite is just making him worse for no real reason. Actually, it's because a bunch of scrubs complained, which is the worst possible reason, next to some sort of terrorism.
Secondly, we don't know the practicality of the infinite. It can only be landed vs standing characters (?), which almost nobody seems to want to address. Akuma's air hurricane kick doesn't hit high, btw, so he will have trouble jumping around fishing for it if you just block low. It's not much different than any other combo that does 100%, which MvC3 is full of. The biggest concerns with this combo, by far, should be the time it eats up and the meter it builds.
By logic of some of the people in this thread, it should be really dangerous to play Sentinel in MvC2, since many, many characters have an infinite that works on standing Sentinel. The practical reality is very different." - TS (http://shoryuken.com/content/3684-mar...)
My thoughts exactly...
It's marvel it will always be broken/stupid in some aspects. At least in this game maybe with the exception of sentinel, everyone has stuff broken and dumb about them.
And for people that say they cant get out of stuff from wekser, zero, and the likes, heres a hint. Work on your game on not getting mixed up (better than DEAL WITH IT) and push block at smart times. If youre talking about people that just mindless rush down you can push block them on the latter hits and youll probably be able to punish them cause they;ll hit a button. Isnt that bad.
While I do think infinites can be bad, I don't think this is a cause for concern.
Seeing how the damage is very small, gets scaled badly, and it's probably very impractical in an actual match.
Also, my team is Felicia, Spencer and Gouki.
PSN ID: SaitoKojima
Yes, I'm a Gouki/Akuma user, and even I think this infinite is useless.
@SaitoKojima
The purposes of normal infinites (aka Magneto ROM combo) is not to outright kill your opponent. The 1st purpose is to run the clock, so if a match starts sliding from your favor its more likely for you to win by time out if you still have the life lead. The 2nd and most important purpose is to build A LOT of meter, so after you reset your opponent you can go for your extended BNB and unleash as many hypers as you need. Well I'm sure there are other more subtle reasons, but these are the two big ones.
oh god, i hope this doesn't work on the characters i like lol. seems like it's a move for taller characters.
also, it might not work anymore... i'm not sure if capcom released from kind of patch or something, but i've nocitce a couple of "should be infinite" combo strings that will just "fail" out of nowhere, by the game making you're attack wiff, whiff, thus, allowing the opponent to recover. i haven't looked into this one yet though.
but i can say that, at least on my own practice mode lol, that tron loop didn't work (at least on the person i tested it on), and i've seen things that prevent dante and some others from REALLY laying into the opponent with combo strings that aren't even really "infinite" IMO.
seems like the game will notice moves being repeated, and then compensate.
Glad we got videos for infinites already
