Unrelated to the post about other glitches just put up, IGN has an article explaining that Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is giving some online users problems.

If you've been playing Marvel vs. Capcom 3 online — or trying to — you've likely had an experience similar to ours. Lost connections and an irritating cycle of menus have kept us offline in the days following the game's release. Fortunately, Capcom's aware of the issues on PS3 and Xbox 360 and assures us that a fix is on the way.

"Due to the high volume of people playing MvC3 at launch, some are experiencing connection issues with online matches. We are looking into these issues in order to fix the problem and ensure a smooth online experience."

Update: Zidiane and xMrTransparentx shared a potential solution for people running into this issue.

I've had problems like this, too. What I did was set the region to same, the language to English, and the skill level to same. That has worked for me, and I no longer lose connections and get into matches every single time.

good...glad to hear this....havent been able to get my game till this sunday cuz Gamestop had a stupid issue with my Collector's Edition reserve so at least now I know the problems and they are being worked on. On a side note, I've played it at comicon and my friends ps3 and its SO DOPE! ^-^

I have no problem connecting, I would just like to be able to spectate, and to pick my opponents in ranked matches. (Really tired of playing the same person in a ranked match three times in a row...)

@#9: you should never be allowed to pick your opponents in Ranked matches. Too many people will join the match, look at your card, and see that you have a good w/l Ratio or use character "X" and bail on it. Ranked play is about proving your skill at the game, and that means using your team effectively against all foes, not just the ones you hand-picked for E-Z Winz!

I want spectator mode, and it not to kick you back into the menu when its done, just re-queue you for Ranked.

ive only had tha problem when ive been tryin to do ranked matches so what i did was turn on that fight request when doing arcade mode and have people fight me through there it works but id rather not have to do that all the time...... and its on xbox if that helps

Sounds kinda like my issue, I can never join ranked. I was able to do some searches for lobbies though

Best way to play ranked.
Go to arcade mode and turn fight request on and select ranked match.

Got the game today and played 1 player match online. I had no problem connecting although the match was laggy.

@6 japan has one the best internet if not # 1 internet in the world... america has shiity internet...avergae in the america's in 4mb..while in japan is 75mb..they can play matches as far boston with no lag if the same person has the same speed

U do realize that USA is ranked around 7-10th place in terms of public bandwidth right? The East side has way faster connections. They offer more for there people. Instead of having stupid packages like 5mb, 10mb, 15mb, 15mb turbo, etc... they just offer the maximum. And over there it's mandatory to pay for health insurance but when you get sick, you stop paying. Doesn't matter if you got cancer or whatever, they'll take care of u. Here in the United States if you have cancer, move to Canada. Wow, anyways totally off topic.

I hate the online rank mode. It's very linear. Why don't they let us view multiple players and then we can decide which one we fight; like in SSFIV. It's good tht they r tryin to fix the issue but they need to change a lot with the game in order for it to be good. X factor is way too overpowered. Sentinel needs to be nerf. The stages r too big. Ability to change game settings is mandatory,lots of people hate the timer. I HATE THE TIMER! Without the timer players will actually fight instead of running away.

Spectator mode would be awesome. Getting tired of watching these cards bone eachother. If they add it I hope it wont cause more lag though.

I'm sure Capcom had a good reason for not including spectator mode in the game. Maybe it's something a lot more difficult to implement for a game like MVC3 which is much more dynamic and chaotic than SF4 and they couldn't finish it in time. Hopefully they're working on it and they'll throw it in along with the patch to resolve these online issues.

Then why not make it like SSF4 where you can't see your opponents' BP and PP until the match actually starts? That way you still don't get to pick your opponent based on skill, but if you don't want to play the same person several times in a row (which is what's happened to me in MvC3, a lot), you don't have to.

I remember that Capcom said they were "pretty proud" of Marvel 3's online and netcode. What happened? I have to wonder if this is really what they are proud of. No spectator mode and online as wonky as vanilla SF4.

I'm really disappointed.

@11, That's exactly what I did and it worked like a charm. I still get a few "unable to connect messages", but they aren't as frequent as before.

It's a popular that has just released. Internet is gonna be dead like SRK forums when Vangief got to Top 8 SSF4 at last year's EVO.

Why do people complain about a new and incredibly popular game's internet problems at the very start! That's reason number two as to why I'm getting this game in August (Still have connection problems in SSF4 and MvC2 anyways in Ranked.)

Reason number one? I'm poor.

Is MvC 3 going to have a mode where people can battle 3 on 3 (as in three people on one team)? Not sure if I read that, can't remember. But if there is a mode like that, it's gonna suck. :P

Thank god, it takes me forever to find a match in Ranked. Not Player though, that normally works fine. Guess nobody plays Player so there isn't as much strain.

That defeats the purpose of having the player cards. Just suck it up playing the same guy a few times, or after a match, wait 30 seconds before trying to get a new game in.

-Fix the lobbies
-Fix the lag
-add spectator
-fix it so it doesn't boot you to the main online menu when it cant find a match
And why aren't there more populated lobbies for 2 or 3 people so the wait isn't so tedious?

starting to wonder how SFIII Third Strike Online Edition will turn out when finding matches.

Good news, I fricking hate the death message "Connection has been lost to the server" like, 5 times before I could get to join a match. I'm glad they are already on the problem. Besides that the online is really good, rarely laggy.

1.Please out spector mode on plz!I hate seeing a empty game untill its my turn!

2.Do something about rank match.

3.Can you atleast put either time limit on or off?I hate playing time limit against spammers and the time always runs out.Please take off time limit!
