Users who ordered Marvel vs. Capcom 3 from the official Capcom Store, but did not receive the game until a later time will receive some form of compensation, according to a blog post on Capcom-Unity.
We also pride ourselves in our customer service. This past week, something that was beyond our control occurred and it affected the shipping of Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 for some of our customers. 83% of orders were unaffected and shipped out on time. Unfortunately 17% did not and on a game launch of this size, that is not insignificant. We've been reading your messages and listening to you on the forums.
We want to convey to you that your business is important to us and that we appreciate you as fans and as customers. With that being said, we are working on some fantastic ideas to help compensate the customers whose orders were affected by this shipping incident. The details of this will be revealed soon, but know that it will be something worthwhile.
Thanks again for shopping with the Capcom Store. Please don’t let this experience dissuade you from ordering some of the great products and pre-order bonuses that we have planned for in the future.
I'll just quote my twitter feed( http://bit.ly/grTQJz ):
[Alain-Christian used CHARGEBACK. It's SUPER EFFECTIVE! @Capcom_Unity fainted.] Problem Solved. Buying that sh!t @ retail tomorrow.

I agree, it's too late. I'll continue to support Capcom as a game developer but I will never buy from the Capcom Store again.
@4: Yeah I was gonna mention something like that... but now I'm just thinking back to why I didn't order it sooner from GS or Amazon. Oh well. =P
I was just telling my co-workers today that I hate the people that ask for free stuff for being inconvenienced, but I feel we deserve something for being forced to wait 3 extra days.
My idea was a $10 off coupon to the Capcom store, so they can show us that this kind of thing doesn't happen all the time when we place our next order (and save some money in the process).
Whatever you Capcom guys have planned, I appreciate it. Now I go back to praying that my package arrives tomorrow...
i think they have their percentages mixed up. every person i kno who ordered from the capcom store didnt receive it yet. its too late capcom, i already have a se mvc3 that came with a better shirt n an action figure.
I've been following this since yesterday on Capcom-Unity and I was glad they finally came out and said SOMETHING. Compensation is nice and all... as long as our games arrive. I'm still worried many of us won't be receiving them at all, but time will tell.
My idea was that if we're going to be given compensation, it had better be something "MVC3 late delayed delivery" exclusive. I want the whole world to be aware of me and my elite seventeen percentile brethren. If it were something physical, like a keychain or a cell phone strap, that'd be great. Or maybe an exclusive online title for mvc3, if they exist, in the same vein as evo online's winner.
... Assuming our games arrive.
Amazon hasn't been any better, at least with my experience. When I pre-ordered SSFIV I received it on time. Found out today that my order just left the other side of the freaking country yesterday. Pissed off over it but I'll get it over it eventually.
for gamestop and amazon customers, the day mvc3 released was the day they got it in the mail
But for me, it was tuesday...
I'm really glad they're going to follow up on this. I got one for each system, one from Gamestop and one from Capcom. I'm anxious to see what they're going to do for my delayed Capcom order. :D
they will be unveiling the capcom time machine and will use it to ship to you on-time.
just kidding, enjoy your free re5 jill sticker for waiting
i still have not got my copy in the mail.
it shipped thurs and is still not here....
=/
i wonder what they are going to do?
Hopefully they can hook it up with 400MS points/$5.. that'd be nice. Hopefully mine gets here today. Hopefully...
To all you guys that actually think capcom will give you something worth while. Stop dreaming its capcom and their money grubbing ways, so put it out of your mind if they will give you:
a) A coupon that will cost them lost revenue (cause its capcom and they are just money hungry.
b) MS points or anything like, cause they wont give up $5 so easily
or c) Free DLC, need I explain why again?
^ free DLC sounds awesome to me !
Some aren't informed correctly and are blaming capcom saying they'll never ever buy from the store again, but just to get things straight it's not their fault and Digital rivers for handling it, duno the details. maybe some postage problem or whatever like others have said, correct me if I'm wrong
Like a few others, I was really upset cause it's been 3 days past launch day & still no game. Was too eager to play this game, we've waited too damn long haha. Ended up renting it at a local redbox for $1, hell yeahhh
@27
It is their fault .
The hole idea behind buying from a publisher's store is safe shipping and not having to deal with shortages .
There is no valid explanation for other chain stores properly delivering the game while the capcom official store can't .
the details arent the customers' problem ... if they can't do it , then buying from the store is useless .
If you go to the official Postal website click on their help page, put in your order number and tell them your worried that your package may have been lost or stolen they will give you a follow up phone call explaining this debacle. Its pretty crazy.
I finally got mine yesterday. No matter what they give me for compensation, I am never ordering from the capcom store again. This was the first time I have ever done so, and it didn't work out, so never again for me.
If it was Amazon I would of forgiven them, just because I order from them all the time and 1 screw up doesn't nulify 3 years of service. But first time ordering, and they screw up? Nope, sorry Capcom.
For all of those ignorant in believing that this experience is through no fault of Capcom because they use Digital Rivers as their store front - please wake up and grow a brain. In the real world of business and trade, the bottom line is "acountability". When things go wrong there is one and only ONE person/organization to blame. And that is the one that wears the badge. The one that oversees and the one that bears all responsibility, top to bottom. Capcom is in charge and DigitalRivers merely a partner. Whatever happens between the two of them is their problem. I do not want to hear who's fault this is - really, I do not give a crap. Just make this right.

Kinda late for that.
Still haven't received mine. I'm over it. =\
