DSP posted a couple more videos going a bit deeper, which you can find by hitting the jump.
Tips from lxfullmetal, TheFragile, Nippon and DestinyZX1.
This is crap. I got to the part where he was at the button settings. 4 Minutes later he was still there.
It got featured i'm surprised, I think he's going to do more advanced stuff later on.
OMG just realized that DSP sounds like MASTER SHAKE lulz
good review anyhoo :p
@4 he did win the tourney in play in trade on midnight release and well watch the vids and you will see he did real good so did the other participants
DSP, the most respected online player. I can hear him pressing buttons but HE CANT MOVE.
DSP is actually much better at this game than he ever was in SF4.
lol cant wait to see him playing this game online and complaining the crap out of it XD
good job phil! i have never played this game, and thank god you are showing a noob friendly video to teach us!
btw, trolls go away, if you guys are too good for this tutorial, don't watch it. the title does say VERY BASICS OF MVC3...
some diots just don't know how to read and complain
At the guy above me, people are trolling DSP because he is a fag, not because they are too good for this very poor tutorial, after all it was titled correctly.
I've been watching DSP for a long time, the dude can be a douche but his heart is in the right place with this. The guy has a gang of subscribers on youtube, and a lot of them are unfamiliar with fighting games. This was made for them, to help them get on board the hype train. He's doing his part for the community, by trying to get more people to play the game that ordinarily wouldn't. What are you guys doing besides hating on him?
Hatred got nothing better to do must be a slow day
I can hear it all now, "I'm holding back but I'm not blocking! Not pressing anything but I'm still getting hit!"
LOL, gotta love DSP and his blame the connection mantra.
really i kinda didnt like the guy but .... i kinda really respect what he is doing .... now jus tho ... i jus started playing marvel vs capcom 2 ..... an its bin out for almost ten years i kinda wanna give up on trying because like everyone else have that advantage of knowing what to do an why ..... an i jus trying to hit the other person ... so.... i really happy to see something like this not not being selfish an keeping all that know how to your self .... so i respect u for this one ... real talk tho ..
In case anyone is wondering why DSP is getting all this vitriol:
@23
He just whines alot... never saw him ragequit...
@RoggingCamp
At least he has the balls to upload them. Most of the trolls here hating on him probably were more humiliated online, probably complain more than him and worst than that, they probably live ragequiting online like little kids...
The diference is that they hide it full of shame of themselfs, turn on the pc, login here and then they give pretentious opinions about a game where they know that they are inferior to someone they are hating.
It's very funny how clear this is.
You guys saw a couple of his street fighter videos and now think he's a scrub. Most of what he says is for comedic value anyway. If he was a true scrub he wouldn't have uploaded the videos of his double perfect anyway.
He's actually really good at fighting games. Especially Super Turbo.
This tutorial is solid and since I'm new to Marvel it taught me a few things right off the bat.
Grow up a bit folks.
Ssf4, mvc3 different game folks watch the midnight tourney vids real good matches
"Duurrrr. I dont know what's going on. Ahyuck!"
The people hating on DSP are even more tedious then his rants while playing SF4 matches(which are for entertainment purposes mostly). I admit I'm not that big of a fan but this kind of tutorial is appreciated no matter what people think of its content. A video is posted with good intentions and all people show for it are slanders and insults.
Once again community, you show your maturity. Truly you are the real scrubs.
DSP has a bit of a bad rep for his trash talking and sometimes being a sore loser but his skill in fighting games can't be denied. He's no JWong but you have to give him props, he's here to give the newbs a hand. Plus he HAS improved his etiquette since those SF4 vids.
For the people above who thinks DSP wasted his time with his tutorial video's... you're wrong.
I've not played MVC since way back on the Dreamcast, so having something like this is a great source of information to refresh your memory. If you haven't played it before it gives you a good foothold into what you can do, and what you need to be able to do. As a consequence of his video's, I'll be picking the game up upon release in the UK.
Well done, DSP.
I wanted to add... The fighting game genre needs to grow in order to become even more successful. With people like DSP taking the time to do video's like this, it actually opens the game up to lots of other people who may not have had any idea what to do or how to play the game.
A great set of basic video's. I look forward to the more advanced stuff.
@10
I watched that video and I can honestly say that......they both suck! Seriously. DSP did one combo with Wesker again and again and again,then dropped the same one with Skrull like 3 times. If he had an early copy,he wouldn't have dropped that stuff. Also,his Wesker is just terrible. Had he picked Skrulls proper assist (And if he knew what he was doing) he could've actually done something that requires skill. His opponent was so bad,too. Pretty easy to look pro when your competition is full of bad players. No-one on this comment section is trolling,DSP is just generally an un-likable person. His personality is garbage. He makes these videos to say "Ya know what? I need to spread my INFINITE KNOWLEDGE OF ALL GAMES to the weaker minded people". Nothing sincere about it. All of you people sympathizing with him are just plain wrong.
Good.. basic and fundamental explanations help me a lot DSP, thank you.
Anyway it's Alpha Beta and Gama, not A,B,Y.. on controller menu
lol, These kids don't know anything about DSP aside from like 2 videos where he's bitching about lag. I'm not a huge DSP fan but I respect what he does. He's by a wide margin one of the best ST players in the country and was playing MvC2 competitively when you kids were still in elementary school.
Stop hating. He's accomplished a lot in the fighting game community. Much more than any of you online players. lol
Let the dude spread some knowledge.
I think DSP has his heart in the right place, but needs to plan this out before he does more vids.
Getting really obvious things wrong in the menus (like in vid 3 where he turns off player recover in training mode, when he means to turn off Dummy recover) makes it look like he has no clue - if he had worked out what he was going to do and say before he did it, or at least re-recorded the vids until he got it right, he would have come across as less of a t-t.
As someone who didn't play MvC2, Video 3 did teach me things, but throughout the series there were plenty of head slapping 'D'Oh!' moments that dragged his message in to the mud.
DSP - write a script, and re-record these vids. You understand what you need to convey, but it's so rough that your viewers want to bang thier heads against their desks.
K
never thought dsp wud make a mvc3 tutorial lol
