the biggest question that arises out of this is whether or not the tourney scene is gonna switch to Low damage output for main rules. I imagine general opinion is gonna be split 50/50
but I'll have to see for myself. I'm leaning for more of the "low" damage myself but thats cuz i like more stuff happening in matches the longer they last. Then again some people who are used to Super Turbo may not mind the high damage dealt on Medium settings.
Damn son, Phoenix be beastly. Normal Phoenix with 2 downed team-mates X-Factor is GODLY.
I shall be capturing the "glass cannon" adventures of her real soon.
I hate the control scheme for this game. I mean, it makes sense that TvC had only three attack buttons cuz the controller doesn't have tht many buttons. But ps3 and Xbox can handle more than three attack buttons. The game should have three kicks and three punches. Not mush together into three attack buttons. MvC2 > MvC3. MvC3 wont last as long, guaranteed. I mean, you can change some things about the game but "don't" change the core system and the control scheme. You can add X Factor, etc but the game overall should have the same layout. This is why SFIV was successful. It held onto the main components that made it Street Fighter. If that game had only three attack buttons, parry, and all this other stuff, the sales would not be as high. Capcom screwed up MvC3. People will buy it just cuz MvC2 was fun and great. I don't expect MvC4 to do well if they keep this trend.

You cant be serious about the control scheme changing. Mvc was the classic 6 button layout, mvc2 switched to 4 buttons and 2 assist, mvc3 3 atk 1 special attack and 2 assist. Technically all still 6 buttons.
TvC just had 4 main buttons, also the classic controller and arcade stick for could allow for a 6 button scheme...they just didnt go for it. So it wasnt a button limitation.
The amount of attack buttons doesnt really matter when the same purpose is being addressed. Its not like its sf4 where each normal has a more direct focus.
You spout about having 3 kicks and 3 punches when mvc2 didnt even have that set up, if you dare to say you can just tap the lpx2 to get medium.. all functionality is just directed towards extending combos in which tapping the same button in mvc3 will do the same before launching them into the air.
There are plenty of capcom fighters that had the 6 buttons scheme that didnt sell as well as sf4 so the correlation is bad. Sf4 6 button layout added focus attacks, sf3 6 button layout added parry... sells between the 2 were drastically different and it wasnt cause of the button layout.
#12 Dude really? To me the control scheme adds quite a bit to the game I really enjoy it and most of the people whom I have spoken with who were avid MVC2 players like it better. If you want to be left in the past with MVC2 then by all means stay there and wallow. This game is good whether you want to accept it or not I feel really bad for you my friend I'm enjoying the hell out of this game.

MVC2 Default Layout:
Light Punch Heavy Punch Assist 1
Light Kick Heavy Kick Assist 2
MVC3 Default Layout:
Light Attack (A) Medium Attack (B) Heavy Attack (C)
Exchange Assist 1 Assist 2
Interesting... it seems the complexity of this game make it impossible for people like myself who doesn't have/want to buy a console to learn how to play this game... or it just will take forever because of the high possibility to lose +50% life each time someone start a combo. In short, 3-6 combo later, you are dead.
I thought Seb from Frame Advantage moved on to doing MLG streams and making the big bucks. Anyone know whyd he come back?
This is sick!
