Sumoslamman's latest showdown spotlight pits Magneto against Arthur. Offering the usual background information and play style overview, this is a good, and brief, way to get familiar with both of these characters.
Magneto's Play Style: Like Wolverine, Magneto is primarily a rushdown character, specializing in quick normal attacks that lead to big combos. His Electromagnetic Disruptor projectile is incredibly quick, capable of punishing almost any whiffed attack while doing great chip damage as well. His triangle jump is incredibly fast and helps him pressure the opponent mercilessly. His Magnetic Shockwave hyper can OTG and is useful as a DHC but really Magneto is all about the intimidation. You don’t rule for ten years without developing a monstrous reputation.
Arthur's Play Style: Arthur might be the least mobile fighter in the MvC3 roster. He doesn’t have a dash or an air dash, and his double jump doesn’t really add too much to his game. However, if you play him right you might not need to move much at all. Arthur’s specials all have tons of range, Lance Toss, Fire Bottle Toss, and Ax Toss accompanied by his cross bow shots means he can lay down some serious suppressing fire to lock down enemies. He also has some very meaty sword strikes with surprising range and the Goddess’ Bracelet hyper does tons of damage, lets Arthur move around while firing ultra-fast projectiles, and can be comboed into.

Think about it this way:
Magneto is the master of Magnestism, His magnetism will capture Arthur still stuck in his suit and bring him closer but arthur can just stick out his spear and BAM
Arthur was an awesome addition, I cant wait to use him!
Arthur is quite strong. Backed up with the right assists(like, say, Sentinel and Dante) it's almost impossible to get past him. You just sit there blocking his incredibly safe, huge projectiles that fly all over the screen, do a buttload of chip, and can wipe out an easy 30% with a hyper combo easily hit confirmed on.
Anyway if it's just these two characters fighting in a 1 on 1, Magneto takes it, but Arthur is scary as hell. For proof, check the story above this one.
I've been crushing people on PSN with Arthur. King's Armor with LV3 X factor= Monster chip.
People are sleeping on Arthur, and I plan to take advantage. He's the master of keepaway, and still has some decent close up options. His counter armor is great for keeping off rushdowns, which is Arthur's weakness.
