Two of the most popular characters in Marvel vs. Capcom 3 have had their showdown spotlights posted on Marvel.com, Dante and Deadpool. Here's an overview of their play styles, hit the link for more information from Sumoslamman about both fighters.
Deadpool's Play Style: A little on the slow side, Deadpool’s fast projectiles make up for what he lacks in rush down pressure. His Trigger Happy bullet storm can be cancelled into his Happy-Happy Trigger hyper for some great damage and quality DHC capabilities. Katana-Rama! gives you a wall bounce you can use for a guaranteed hyper or relaunch into more Poolie shenanigans. Heck, play Deadpool just for his awesome animations and witty one-liners, you won’t be disappointed.
Dante's Play Style: The Son of Sparda has an answer for nearly every situation he might find himself in. While he can’t play the best rushdown game, his normals are slower than most, his teleport always puts him above and behind his enemies head in a perfect position to punish those not paying attention. Dante’s Million Dollars hyper is easily comboed into off of a slew of his special attacks and works great by itself or in any DHC situation. Really, with over 40 special moves at his disposal and his Devil Trigger, which enhances all of his abilities, you can play him any way you feel like.

canonically both are practically immortal, but Dante would win the fight on raw power alone.
Deadpool is the new cable in my eyes. He just has an amazing keep away game and you have a long time to hit confirm the bullet storm into his hyper. That and his DHC practically works with every single character's super. Dante is great as well, but because they have similar staminas, I would prefer to have a solid keep away character. I can't deny it though, Dante is a beast.
(This is hard. They both have awesome themes. I played quite a bit of DMC3. But Deadpool is amazing as well. Even in X-Men Origins. Seth said Deadpool is actually a keepaway char(guess they gave him Shoryuken purely for show then?) So Dante can't outdo him there. But then there's the teleport. As long as Deadpool has 3 bars I say he wins unless the Dante player is better at mindgames/more skilled.
Also, Deadpool is on my team unless Frank West gets announced so yeah...he wins!)

Not even close to as good as MvC2 cable, for several reasons. If you mean in proportion to the other characters of the cast, maybe?
Dante looks like he is beast, but I think a lot of people are attracted because of his long move list, flashy combos and great assist. Obviously that makes him solid, but there are faster characters, better zoning characters, faster anti air assists, etc.....He is versatile but I feel like people are blowing him out of proportion.

I agree with you bro. i don't wanna really call him the noob character but considering you'll find that a lot of new people to the series will be using him. Still once you've got some of his combos down he looks pretty damn amazing.
As for a face of between the two of them i think everyone wins! both a technically immortal and hilarious! imagine the smack talking and jokes going on during that match.
